The Civic Hall in Wolverhampton hosts a more intense session of Grand Slam of Darts action as the last 16 gets started. The winning post doubles in distance to 10 as the bottom half of the draw progresses.
Starting off round 2 is a duel of dartitis as former sufferer Mensur Suljovic faces current sufferer Berry van Peer. Bionic's plight in the group stage captured the hearts of most darts fans as his inability to throw sent him to tears, but still had the belief to beat Simon Whitlock and Cameron Menzies to advance. The Gentle will know what Berry is going through, but needs to compose himself and get a big win.
The BDO's last man standing is next as reigning Lakeside champion Glen Durrant plays 2010 runner-up Dave Chisnall. Duzza has shown he can compete over the short format, averaging 102 in the group stage and defeating 2 of the PDC's top 16 players. Chizzy failed to beat Jeffrey de Zwaan but crucially Scott Mitchell lost his last game. The Boro man lost 10-5 to Raymond van Barneveld at this stage last year, and the added experience will surely set him up to be the first "amateur" quarter-finalist since 2013.
Master and apprentice then meet with Gary Anderson against Michael Smith. Gando has been typically ruthless, dropping just 6 legs in Group H, while Bully Boy has shown a new level of maturity after scraping through Group G. With both men big power scorers, this could be one heavy hitting game.
Ending the night are Stephen Bunting and Peter Wright. Surprisingly, it's Bunt Man who comes into this game with the better form, topping Group F while Clownman scrapped about with Alan Norris to escape Group E. Their last meeting saw Bunt choke his way out of the World Grand Prix, so anything could happen.

Monty and Mitchell unsurprisingly shat themselves and I don't think anyone expected Machin to do any better than he did.
The only ones I want to see switch from this year's qualifiers are Durrant, Noppert and Menzies. But with Chris Mason having mentioned on Twitter how the BDO are going to be withholding Lakeside money for anyone going to Q-School, those guys are stuck.
