If you can prevent yourself from tripping over nu male homophobic rhetoric, Pride Toronto is generally one of the nicer adult-focused events in Toronto. It's gay as fuck obviously, but everyone gets along, it's great to see lots of happy people on a sunny day.
Remember, Pride Parades aren't a protest, they're pageantry: "look at how gay we are!". "yep, pretty fucking gay".

Better to make concessions that you won't live up to to end the crisis than to use brute force to remove them. Cops forcibly removing BLM protesters will never look good in the news. They'll fight the cops, the cops will have to use appropriate force, and then it's POLICE BRUTALITY!!! The event organizers really had no way to win. At least from their perspective.
Maybe they should have let BLM shut it down permanently, ending pride 2016 completely. Maybe BLM will come off looking like total assholes that way and the Pride organizers will look like total victims. That might have been a better political strategy.
