I think it was that I liked watching american sit-coms, and I just didn't understand that when they made jokes about america being the greatest country on earth and canada being horrible they were being sarcastic. Maybe something about the american style of excess appealed to my little mind then.

Weather isnt that nice in much of the US. It is really humid. Heat+humidity is worse than cold. Northern part of the US is still really cold. Only west coast has good weather.
