Am I missing something? Or was this mediocre as fuck? Cliches up the butt. Tentative brother, wild brother, cop about to retire.

And whatever theme/message they were going for was both underdeveloped and heavy-handed. This movie is totally worthless.

Yeah where were the EPIC SCI FI elements??????????????

The movie is pure kino.

To me, it doesn't even approach There Will Be Blood or No Country for Old Men. Yet this got comparable reviews.

I would agree with this. It was a good movie don't get me wrong but, I feel like it never achieved great status.

Still this year was incredibly weak movie wise and it is in my top 3 this year

1. Manchester By The Sea
2. Moonlight
3. Hell Or High Water

>this year was incredibly weak movie wise

Not trying to throw shade, but this is such an ignorant statement. Every year is an excellent year for movies if you choose to watch more than what's playing at your local theater.

It definitely wasn't trying to go the cerebral route like those two movies. It's just a fun romp about family, a venerable look at a dying way of life, and soulless government. The acting, pacing, and cinematography were excellent IMO. Foster killed it and I learned Chris Pine can act.

Please explain what this cap represents.
If you cant see the pointers than you missed out on everything in the movie and its your own fault.

>this year

You don't need to "get" everything in a film because literally everything is going towards one idea. Like, I get the waitress and the tips thing, but no, I don't get this image.

Unique yet unlikely death posture, as usual eyes mysteriously closed. Why can't they ever get death right in the movies? Flick was OK time waster but only because of the set.

I really liked the movie but it absolutely was heavy handed in its commentary on the banks. Though honestly I'm starting to think maybe that's exactly what we need to get people to realize that the banks and large corporations have been raping the American worker while Republicans actively work to aid them and Democrats speak lip service but either don't really want to or are too cowardly to make real change.

Its the fucking rattle snake next to the rock and the flag in his trailer.
Next time read up on your own ideology and reason for freedom.

Thank god for the Donald.

>if you choose to watch more than what's playing at your local theater.
I do, and you come across as a faggot.

did I hit a nerve?
Was the intense sound of a snake not enough for you to see what is happening on screen and connect two fucking dots to figure out the message the scene is trying present?

I don't give a fuck what some fat asshole thinks of me. You come across as a dipshit if you think it's a weak year for movies. Eat the shit underneath your kitchen sink you fucking philistine.

yes that was very hard to grasp. thank you for educating everyone on fosters character embodying the bold, revolutionary american spirit. we couldnt tell through the 2 hours the movie lasted and the only way this couldve been figured out was by intensely focusing on the extremely loud death hiss of the rattlesnake

kys you stupid fuck for actually being proud of yourself for being able to "dissect" this scene

You could barely see the snake in the cap. What kind of question is that? Sorry I didn't remember the scene exactly. You should've asked, what was the purpose of the snake, but clearly even you knew it was so obvious if you did that.

nigga, you used the phrase "throwing shade"

You're trying to give me shit for using a phrase everyone uses while being a pasty nerd who types out "nigga." You are a fucking loser.

niggga,.,

Pro Tip: He's Wall Street's best friend.

...

How does it feel to be a political pleb. Know that I have transcended and the Donaldo guides me.

the movie is extremely underrated, the story is as plain as it gets and for a bank robber story there is not the least bit of tension, all you get is some good cinematography

this

overrated* actually

The ending scene was godtier

Im not even american and yet I understand what the movie is trying to say.
Stay smart.

The scene is 10 seconds in the movie points it out out flat even via soud,if you cant see it in a screen cap than I dont know what to tell you.
Also I noticed the snake while watching movie i was trying to illustrate a point here that you guys are not exactly the sharpest.
Anyone can shittalk a movie but not everyone is smart about it.

I'm not talking politics, I'm talking economics.

It's a movie for people who don't really watch or know much about movies. It's not bad, but there is also nothing original or nuanced about it whatsoever.

It was most certainly nuanced if you live in a small town currently

Lmao ok kiddo. I'm sure stopping illegal slave labor is good for Globocorp. Thinking about it, scrapping TPP was the best thing for Main Street. How could I not see this before? Truly I am enlightened by the knowledge that they won't get to send jobs to China. Yes of course, it all makes sense now. Since stocks rise after Donald is president = Donald good for Wall Street.

Wow

wow go look at the 2016 list again then dig a hole and live in it. It was a generally very potent year for good movies, not all were great but im having trouble finding a movie I didnt like out of 2016 vs other years not much seems phoned in accept for the superhero movies and even those were fun in some way. hopefully this will be like the 1996-2000 streak of genuinely good film. So much about the human condition this year too Its like theyre trying to send a message.

you're clearly retarded if you actually think you one-upped anybody with your interpretation

Moonlight By The High Water was the superior film remix.

>Superhero movies
>Fun
Opinion immediately discarded.

I feel you.
It was pretty straight forward movie, nothing special, fine characters, but rather forgettable. Don't know why it's praised that much.

Shitty heist film. Shitty brother film. Shitty cops and robbers film.

Doesn't say anything meaningful other than "poorness is a sickness" and it doesn't even say it well. Jeff Bridges' character doesn't change at all. I don't think anyone thought he was seriously going to cause trouble or shoot the guy, but that's the sort of the moral questioning that the film was lacking.

wow no way a gadsden flag reference in a movie about texans. 3deep4me

>Jeff Bridges' character doesn't change at all.
Yeah he does his fucking friend dies and he confronts the man he knows was partially responsible for it. try less hard.
