Seems excessive for high school math. Over here in the land of niggers and retards though most students aren't even required to take trigonometry.

Because it's deeply important to understand every field in social "sciences" and politics.

They do. At least here they do.

Its just that calculus techniques are not introduced.

What bumfuck flyover state do you live in? All of the relevant states require trig as part of the highschool graduation requirement.

Because understanding how white privilege is keeping niggers down is more important.

California here

You only need to pass algebra 1 to graduate high school here

Nigga I took ap stats senior year cause I knew I would fail calculus. I have no clue what the fuck that is and I did pretty well in that class.

My high school did basic probability stuff, binomial theorem, statistical distributions, real basic "what is a standard deviation" stuff, and people got wrecked by it.

It was in my high school

My sister went to another high school and she needed up to algebra 2

I went to high school in New York. You could take the normal route with trig, physics, calculus, etc. But they had "applied math" for the retarded kids and niggers, which is literally basic algebra like factoring and quadratic equations.

Not in Florida it isn't. Here niggers and spics don't even have to take Algebra 2, they just take "math for college readiness" for two or three years sometimes. They just sit there and dick around with middle school material.

Because they don't want students to realize conclusions can be drawn from statistics

It would ruin the jewish plan

States don't like the idea of a class that teaches you why playing the lottery or going to a casino is a losing proposition. States make money off that shit.

They did in mine. Trigonometry, Calculus, and something else I do not remember as well

we learned stats with proper measure theoretic integral in 6th grade in germany.

stay uneducated, plebs

I graduated HS in 2004 and up to that point at least you could not receive your HS Diploma without trig. I'm garbage at math and even I managed a B in trig.

bitch about real life applications

only subhumans will do this

subhumans are about 75% of the population of public schools here.

you can't educate someone who doesn't want an education, and I wonder why we bother trying so hard sometimes.

Graduation "requirements" are normally waived for retards and minorities.

California here and this is a flat out lie. You need Geo and Alg II to graduate.

It always confuses me when burgers talk about trig and calculus and algebra as if it's separate.

In Finnish school we just have Maths. It's compulsory and it covers everything. Then again i couldn't tell you what algebra is or what calculus is, to me maths is just all the same shit.

They do in England, I got taught stats at gcse level. Had to do simple stuff like the standard deviation and percentiles etc. I always liked stats though as you can just do it all with a calc and providing you don't fuck up entering numbers you're guaranteed a right answer.

Because statistically speaking,if statistics were taught to every child then statistics suggest that statistics would make people see that the world has not warmed (outside tolerance levels +/-) since 1998.Statistically speaking of course.(tolerance levels are set statistically too)

Now that we're talking statistics then we can move on to the unemployment statistics(seasonally adjusted statistics no less),then the GDP statistics, etc, etc, etc.

STATISTICS FOR EVERYONE I SAY.

Statistically speaking your awareness of the magnificence of statistics (OP) are about 1 in 500'000 (an impressive statistic and kudos to you OP)

In California, atleast my district, you only had to pass Algebra 1, and 1 college prep math, like business math, or geometry. Now I think they only have to take Int Math 1.

Understanding statistics is a powerful weapon against mindcontrol by the jewish controlled media.

No wonder it isn't taught.

I do love me some measure theory. How can something be so intuitive and elegant?

They do. People who post on Sup Forums wouldn't know that because statistics proves Sup Forums wrong if you have a grasp of anything beyond fractions.

I am an engineer and I look up basic trigonometry when doing DSP work. Bring back memorizing :(

The only way to properly do statistics and probability theory and all that, desu fempai.

I lived in the worst school district in the country (clark county, nv) and took both trig and ap statistics in high school.

Because statistics is bullshit and irrelevant to a high school education. And I say this after taking 3 of those classes in college over 10 years ago.

If they're going to make a higher math mandatory in high schools, it should be Calculus. Not statistics. Hell, they should do accounting over statistics - maybe there wouldn't be so many idiots that are poor at managing money.

How come we have so (relatively) many math threads lately? I approve of this btw.

Calculus is just applied analysis. Rudin should be required reading for all students before graduation.

oh geez i remember this crap in highschool.

it really busted my balls back then

took math, statistics and all kinds of other math-related subjects in University

can't remember anything, not a damn thing

I think they dumbed it down just a few years prior to when I graduated (2007), I remember it being a big deal and in the news. The reason was, of course, to improve the graduation rates.

They did at my school. It's funny though irl I never use math I've learned past like grade 7. I was looking through some old notes I did in grade 11 for functions. I didn't even kind of remember how to so it and I got an 84 in that class at the tume.

But I'm old as fuck and haven't used it since. I guess if you don't use it you lose it.

When did you graduate?

Tfw my math teacher regularly bashed the school system and I had no clue why until I left last year

Vegas is a real shitty place to grow up, I've realized.

I know it sucks. All i learned was up to Alg2 since you don't control your classes. They didn't let me take precal unless I did some other shit and attended some meetings or whatever.

Central FL fag here btw

Where can I learn higher math guys?

I feel stupid even though im much much better at math than anyone else I've ever met other than my wonderful teachers that is.

Linear algebra

Number theory

Abstract algebra

Real and complex analysis

Category theory

Algebraic geometry

fyfy

why dont they teach X in high school

Because it's a fucking waste of time to teach highschoolers math beyond algebra 2, maybe some basic statistics concepts and trig stuff but after that no dude.

Those kids will barely get it, it's pointless

Math understanding is something that actually comes with age, biologically.

Calculating probability, memorizing T and Z distribution tables, and confidence intervals don't help people understand shit. I'd say three-quarters of the last class I took couldn't describe the difference between discrete and continuous data or even point out the simple difference between using Chebyshev or Empirical methods, and that was a "400 level" university course. Of course 75% of the class was easily weeded out, people try to learn statistics, but it's the understanding of it, which is important. Think about how many dumb asses you knew in high school. Do you see them calculating P-values for two tailed probabilities, drawing the curves, and explaining in detail what their findings are? No. 90% of high school kids are too busy getting laid, drinking, and smoking pot to care about bell curves and all the other mundane shit that's in stats.

They teach math here, but their students don't understand it. I believe calculus is integral to actually understanding mathematics. Since there's only two core concepts taught in calculus (integral and derivative), high school kids can easily grasp these concepts and understandings.

Im in texas and they do here :\

You have a choice of calculus or statistics

Or calc ap

???? What is all this retarded bullshit, its alg2

Precal

Cal1 or 2

Cal2 or multi-variable or statistics

Arizona here. This is how it was for standard classes at my HS. AP kids did Calc and Trig though.

statistics proves Sup Forums wrong

Statistics proves what on Sup Forums wrong?

I drank, did drugs, got laid and partied but I absolutely loved math.

It was the only subject I had consistently high grades in every year of school.

It kept me engaged.

I guess im a semi normie in Sup Forums standards.

I want to get a math and comp sci/eng double major but that's no where to be found here in central FL.

excessive

Go die you fucking retard.

Doing statistics is no harder than playing a game of battleship.

To get into ap, there were so many hoops to jump through. I didn't bother. I wish I did so I could get more maths in me

Linear Algebra is no fucking joke friend. You touch the surface of that stuff in Algebra II. But there's a deeper beast lurking beneath.

I never took Algebraic geometry, but I've heard the stories from my peers.

My nephew only had to take up to Geometry before he graduated 3 years ago in Mesa Public Schools. If they were idiots, they only had to take this weird remedial Algebra 1/basic Geometry course to graduate. What school district did you belong to?

in your countries is it normal to read The Elements of Integration (or a similar measure theory book) before the uni?

statistics

They hell are you talking about? I took this during my senior year.

Here's what I took, which is a standard "long" mathematics program in HS. Around 40% take it, in my HS 90%. One course takes 1/5 of a school year.

1. Functions and equations

2. Polynomials

3. Geometry

4. Analytical geometry

5. Vectors

6. Statistics

7. Derivatives

8. Roots and logarithms

9. Trigonometry and serieses

10. Integrals

11. Number theory and logic

12. Numerical and algebraic methods

13. Differential and integral calculus

tfw the math you took in high school was determined on a choice you made in the 5th grade

in the 5th grade i wasnt confident in math and chose math 1

this set me on the "retarded nigger average student path"

nothing I could do could get me into the more advanced classes

could never take calculus

because of a choice I made when picking class schedule in 5th grade

the classes i took were

Alg 1

Geo

Alg 2

Statistics

NCF!

For us its

PreC

Cal I

Cal II & DE

And sometimes even Cal III if you're in the engineering section

Ya they have that here too but they do it in units. So one month you focus on trig (triangles and shit) then algebra (bedmas) etc. Then as the years go on you can pick which ones you want to focus on more thoroughly. You need at least 3 maths (one for the first 3 years of high school) to graduate and at least a 4TH math to get into university. Many people going into uni will take a 5th math here because the universities only look at your top 12 courses of the last 2 years of hs so some would take an extra math just in case they bombed one of the other math courses.

I was in Glendale Union. The weird remedial class you're thinking of is technically called "Pre-Calc," but there's nothing Pre-Calc about it. It's just as you said, a remedial class for dummies because everybody must graduate.

what the hell do you expect from the average shitlord highscholer?

most of them only care about yelling at you in online games. telling you your mom is a whore and that they want to poop in her vagina.

I went to high school in Alabama and all the math teachers spent more time talking about their cats than teaching

This is the truth. Most AP kids have been in advanced classes since elementary school, through middle school and into HS. If you aren't in it from the beginning then good luck because all school officials are previous DMV employees.

They don't teach any high level math in my school district becaus apparently mexicans don't have any interest or ability. If you want stats, calculus etc you have to self study. White privilege

Because it's homophobic to realize how few fags there are, and it's racist to realize how many criminals there are among blacks.

Then you have a talent for math. You're the exception, not the rule. How many of your fellow burn outs did you see doing exceptionally well at math?

I did an ass-ton of drugs in high school, fucked anything that walked (both men and women), and partied till the sun came up too. But I am the only one out of all of my friends with a university level education. My best friend from high school tends the Wok at Panda Express and he's 32. The "smartest" kid that was in my group (he was in all possible AP classes in HS) works in a smoke shop. My other friend who went to community college, dropped out with 1 semester to go until he got some useless music degree, and now he assembles silicon boards on some assembly line for $10 an hour. I can go on and on about the failures of my friends, but you get the point.

The weird remedial class you're thinking of is technically called "Pre-Calc,"

Love the naming to make people feel better about their failures. I always wondered what concepts were actually taught in that remedial class. I wasn't the smartest with math in high school, but I wasn't bad enough to be put into that class chalk full of Mexicans and dumb-dumbs.

I had a shit GPA, I fucked around a lot.

My grades were all over the place.

Math was always A's. Usually above 100% because extra credit.

Some English classes were perfect A's and other I got F's in.

Guitar and other music classes were A's

Most science except for shit earth space was A's

History A's

Everything else F's.

I was also in the "gifted" program and had an AP classes I hated because of all the boring shit.

I hate writing man.

Unless it's math equations or programming.

tl;dr Shit GPA

Also I haven't gotten my diploma and left school once in 9th and the end of my second year of 12th (repeated because behind in credits) because of family problems.

I left this past February on my birthday.

Im getting my diploma in September though because of a slightly new program here in my town that lets us make those credits up to get a full diploma, not a ged.

I loved highschool in terms of learning, friends, and teachers.

The administration and the other students that aren't my friends are all fucking retarded.

Administration has all these fucking retard new implementations and other students are just plain retarded and loud and interrupt the class, thus hindering my learning in classes I liked.

God, what has happened to America's education.

I love learning but it's just not as engaging.

They do, but it's an elective course that requires calculus AB or calculus BC as a coreq or prereq for some reason.

mfw I took Probability and Statistics my senior year of high school

middle school algebra classes ftw

Did anybody ever have a class with full of whites? There wasn't a single minority in my class during my 12th year.

See you guys know how it's like.

I was fucked from the start

Yeah im this guy

They don't even teach basic linalg in US high schools. Americans are literally retarded.

But our progressive leaders don't want their constituents to understand statistics. They might realize that averages are not guaranteed to be equal to an actual value, that "chaos theory" is about flaws in iterative mathematical models and not a magic superpower scientists can use to make tornadoes out of a single butterfly's wings, and, worst of all, they might realize that making a model that appears to mirror real world phenomena doesn't prove the mathematics drive said phenomrna.

President Obama literally started his career suing banks for "redlining" over the fact that their rejection of high-risk applicants caused a pattern in their lending similar to what would appear if they had redlined minority neighborhoods, therefore racial redlining must have taken place. He won every one of his suits, leading directly to the creation of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the eventual housing crash.

easily triggered, no suprise for someone who knows REALLY how the universe works

So they can't even solve something like a system of 2 linear equations? Fucking lol.

They did in my high school, but it was optional and from what I saw, very poorly taught. Even in undergrad, the stats classes outside of the math department were shit.

I don't think anything more than a very brief introduction to statistics is necessary in high school, spend 2-4 weeks on it in a calculus class and wait until university.

after reading this thread I understand why brazil is such a shithole. our highschool math ends at funcions of one variable, some combinatory and that's it.

What is the favorite word of mathematicians, and one they love to begin sentences with?

Let

Not when I went to school.

It went

Alg1

Geo

Alg2 ( Pre calc, Acc Geo, Transitions to Agl2)

Geo 2 (Trig, Pre calc, calc, stats) or a college math that you take online.

I don't give a fuck about your conception of mathematics. Stop being such a little whiny bitch and get down into the real stuff. If the French can do it, anybody can.

Have a bachelor's in computer science and a bachelor's in finance

Have never taken math more advanced than algebra

No one has ever checked this out, and I've already got a job

Weee. My education is pretty much a house of cards.

I have no clue what the fuck that picture is about.

Central FL far again.

Precalculus isn't a remedial class here. It's actual the next step up from alg2

You take precalculus in 12th.

Once you get to college, you're allowed to take calculus your first year if you already toik and passed precalculus in 12th.

i really don't think that ppl can understand stats without understanding of probability theory (specifically weak convergence theorems)

but you can't understand probability theory without advanced calculus knowledge (lebesgue integration)

- so i bellieve teaching stats in high school is irrelevant without strong calculus

it ends up saying: if your sample average is X, it's unlikely that the real average is much far from it.

You have to read what I was replying to (). He was stating that the remedial class for idiots in his district was called "pre-calc", with no pre-calc elements to it.

How old are you? I'm LITERALLY just out of school and its like this. It's bullshit man. I wanted harder shit. I would've easily cut out some extracurriculars for it.

Hell I'd cut out some English if it were also allowed.

Since you should know proper English by 8th grade.

To me highschool English wasn't even English

Just stupid ass writing about fuck ass writing prompts for a fuck ass score that decides your next year's English class.

I actually think their system is better, because it makes it more focused. When you get to higher level maths (Swedish Uni, idk about the US equivelent) it's all seperated since maths is such a huge subject. It makes sense to learn it in units (which is what everyone does anyways except we just call it maths)

You can show the central limit theorem through very easy to understand examples, even to HS kids. This allows them to understand the intuition of the CLT, without necessarily memorizing the mathematical notations

I'm an Econ major, I have to take up to Calculus 2 but I don't need statistics, fancy that.

There were a couple of influential Polish mathematicians tho (Tarski, Kuratowski, Mandelbrojt, Mandelbrot, Urzyczyn, Ulam). Chopin was Polish too.

10th grade math was the worst year for me. There was this substitute teacher who was hired to fill in my teacher for his heart surgery and she was a huge bitch to everyone and made it miserable. Always means and yells. Got fired thankfully. The teacher thst came back felt regretful to us. Another thing, a kid in that class got arrested for allegedly trying to murder his mother over magic cards.

Nigga what

You don't even have to take the classes to take the tests. You just sign up and show up. Literally didn't have any electives in college and graduated in two years because I took 6 AP tests

Looking for work. I was an apprentice commercial electrician (by invitation) for a month but our project was over.

This was also one month ago.

Now I'm unemployed.

I liked the hard work even though im fairly overweight (250 6'0 though I put it off well)

The money was really fucking good as im moved out with my gf and we don't spend much money anyways.

I'm basically living rent free in a second building on my gfs grandmother's lot. I only pay for my share of food, water and electricity.

I progressed quickly at my job too.

I learn fast and I was driving the excavators, forklifts , guiding teams of actual illegals (I know they were because they're my gfs relatives and such), I was reading blueprints, making blueprints, doing measurements in my head.

The boss loved me and wants me to pursue the trade but I'd rather go into comp sci/eng.

tfw I took college courses in high school that allowed me to skip most of the HS bullshit classes and graduate with my AA

HS english was such a FUCKING JOKE

I think most english classes are a joke, english majors are a fucking joke.

I respect History majors more than English majors, in fact I considered History major very briefly.

tfw I've always written my reports and essays however the fuck I want with no pre planning and teachers still praised me for having great writing

got 5s on AP history exams

High school is a torturous experience if you're even vaguely above average in literally any subject.

People are so fucking stupid. I'm so happy I didn't even have to go to high school anymore during junior and senior years

and my AA was FREE

Fuck those dumb spoiled brats in HS that waste all their opportunities

It is only a good system for the people in the highest tier of classes.

CLT is highly intuitive, but it is important for people to understand the mechanics in order to understand everything later in stats. How are you going to explain regressions to someone that doesn't understand CLT? I've seen what happens to burgers who don't, they end up being able to sort of follow regression analysis, but they can't set up their own and they have no idea how to correct for multicollinearity and the like because they don't really know what's going on.

but don'tthe clt states that if you increase the size of the sample it converges to the real distribuition?

I hated the fact they separated me from the rest if my friends, or the girl I've wanted for years.

CLT says that as sample size increases, distribution of the sample mean becomes more and more like the normal distribution and -- *this is the important part* -- REGARDLESS of the distribution of the sample.

I took probabilities and statistics in high school. Where do t they offer it?

Tbh a lot of people who take only a few stat courses in their life think of regression as kind of a black box that explains "correlations but better".

"You put a line through the observations"

Also Im the 19yo Mexican and Italian fag you may see sometimes posting.

Im waiting to get to college.

I need my diploma first and then I want to get a job and save money to at least have something set up for me before going off to college.

The new STEM one college here is called Polytechnic university. It's cool dude, but expensive.

Everyone at my old job called me a baby since no one my age normally goes into a trade like that and is willing to shovel dirt under the hot sun for 8+ hours a day for $11 and hour.

Also I never got taxes taken out my check.

Does anyone know why that is?

This is only good in theory

Kids can't handle that math pace, this person is very out of touch.

If the education was like that I would have dropped out in middle school, and be determined to not go to school in elementary. That is pure torture for kids.

And that's speaking as someone who is good at math and enjoys it

A biologist does not need to know the math behind the T or F distributions to use t tests and anova on their results. I mean, they should know enough to know when to use them and how to interpret the results, but that doesn't mean pulling apart the differential equations and shit

I didnt even get to choose. 6th grade they decided I was dumb and when I got to HS I barely knew variables. By the end I was the smartest kid in the level.

So who would you guys think are better at math, Republicans or Democrats/ Right or Left?

Im a Republican trump dude myself and I'm the only dude I know that actually enjoys math and is willing to take as many math courses as possible

Ive dated many Tumblr types and had friends that were lefties and they were all super shit at math.

They always asked me for help.

clt is about assimptotic normality of distribution of sum of random variables, there is a huge set of different clt formulations (Lyapunov, classic, etc.)

I know a few professional logicians who seem to be far left (like Stalinists, Maoists and shit), though I'm still not sure if it's ironic or not.

I know that the last two Econ classes I need are based on Econ Stats but the classes that are needed for a Bachelors in Econ are broken up into. Econ 1/2, Trig, PreCal, Cal 1/2, and Econ 3/4 which deals with Statistics. Stats is its own separate class here and I don't need it for my Bachelors.

Graduated 2 years ago.

English was exactly how you described it.

We read short stories and some books, then we would write prompts and other bullshit.

cause we were fins and sheet, lol

But seriously we had historically strong statistics school sinse 19th century, communists did not destroy it because they needed it for weapons and monstrous planning (however, cybernetics was fucked up due to ideologic issues). Currently it is being fucked up, school program is becoming usa-tier and the special schools for gifted kids are being destroyed. Putin needs slaves.

forcing kids to take these high level courses is a form of white oppression and privilege.

People of color do not have the same economic and learning environments as privileged whites do and do not get the same support from parents and extra tutoring lessons due to financial constraints.

If you disagree with this, you are literally a white male that reinforces existing social and educational systems that have inherent bias and racism.

school program is becoming usa-tier

Guess it's happening everywhere then, last 15 years have been fucking disaster for our education system.

I'm just gonna use this black box in this statistics software to tell me whether I'm right or wrong

You abso-fucking-lutely need to know the math behind it.

High school Maths, at least in the UK, is completely and utterly fucked up beyond any recognition. Too much meddling and too many reforms led to disasterously huge prevalence of illiterate and innumerate retards in this country. If only you knew how bad it is among young 'neets'.

How do I know? Because I'm a Maths teacher at a FE College; and I'm leaving this degenerate profession by the end of this summer. Do not walk into this trap EVER!

To answer OP's question: the education in the UK needs to burn. The lack of Statistics is just a minor detail in the huge problem with Maths here.

tfw you will never get to blow the mind of young motivated students with the beauty of mathematics

No alg 2 required. I graduated with a C In geometry and never went on to take alg 2

They are too busy teaching maths the average student won't ever need like geometry.

yeah this is fucking remainder: if you happens to be Republican do not even waste your time trying

t. never had a real job

FYI, in the real world there are well-established procedures to perform the statistical considerations, sometimes directly written in international standards. Most people don't care about differential equations behind the procedures. There are decades of work behind so that people can go full retard and do the black boxing using simple software and still get very valid results.

we concluded my mid-90s high school maths education (grammar school/gymnasium) with probability; we should've taken the basics of higher maths but due to the retards we never got around to that

''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''motivated''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''.

It's culturally acceptable to consider Maths hard. And I'm talking about the easy stuff. The fauna you're looking for is either:

1. Privately educated.

2. International student (Continental/Eastern Europe or Asia etc.)

3. Talented.

The general population students are degenerates and morons; again, it's a culture thing.

If bait, 7/10 - you got me to press CAPS LOCK.

IF NOT, DO. NOT. FUCKING. WALK. INTO. THIS. DEGENRACY.

Seriously, it's not an easy, comfy job as I imagined it. It sucks. Can't wait to fucking leave.

well-established procedures to perform the statistical considerations

Too bad almost nobody knows how to use them properly

Mexican bean counters

That's great and all. But real statistics are provided by surveys with check marks on them.

The rest of this is just theoretical crap that does nothing.

checked by a real life experiment

they won't let you proceed in your career whatever desperate means you take

But being a teacher honestly seems like it'd be really fun.

You get to expose people to the subject you love and make them enjoy it while telling the bratty kids to fuck off

Because its gobblty gook.

Hurr Y=Z 2/5 (Un+554 over time) bing bong bing bong its all made up nonsensical garbage that scientists use to trick us into thinking they understand shit better then ordinary people do.

Nobody cares about the subjects. Nobody really gives a flying fuck.

The only reason anybody attends this shit is because they have to due to social pressure and to make some kind of a living.

"Hey can I recommend some additional reading?"

Every Professor

"Oh sure... God kill me right the fuck now."

Every student.

It's called reality you snot nosed piece of shit. Fuck you. God I sincerely hate people like you. Inexperienced and simply retarded in all facets of life. Fucking dog. Garbage is what you are. Nothing more but everything less.

tfw you will never teach the wonders of math to talented kids whom you know will go on to do something worthwhile with their lives

instead being a teacher means wrestling with a bunch of cavs and their degenerate parents, as well as fat school administration cows who want to prioritize diversity education

At least that's how I see it. Personally, being an assistant lecturer at uni was the most teaching I want to do in this current climate

Where can I learn higher math guys?

college, university, or

simply look at the education plan for math in college/university and teach this yourself with the help of the internet.

mfw I really suck at math but the Uni here is so desperate for CS-Degrees that the math is so dumbed down that even I can pass

Neither was I, but I the loudest and most numerous are going to be exactly as described.

How many refugees does it take to rape your wife on the street if she is running at 10 mph and the muslim has a top speed of 20mph?

So I should just kill myself? I was BORN to teach!

Normal teaching (even at uni) sucks balls

Executive education is where it's at

more than 10+1 of my stock G21, so I guess 12 if I manage to keep my aim solid

they do teach probability but advanced statistics make no sense.

in high school you are given a bare minimum on a lot of subjects. it's wide and shallow knowledge instead of narrow and deep knowledge.

Statistics is most prominently used for research, this is why almost every degree in university require taking at least a few statistics courses.

You could try getting into a private school, but the competition is fierce. You'll need a master's, and you'll need to find a school that has an opening, and you'll possibly need experience to beat out other applicants. Also, from friends I know that taught in private schools, the quality of privates schools varies. Some are good, some are not. Some treat their teachers well, others fuck them hard. I know 6 people who taught at privates schools, and only 1 stayed for more than 5 years (she's still there). Her school hires a new teacher about once every three years from what I've seen.

the subject you love

This is where you're wrong, my nigger.

Anecdotally, teaching is 50% zookeeping, 30% paperwork/admin and only 20% about your subject. That is for me, because I'm in FE (community college for Americans).

For schools, swap the 'paperwork' and 'zookeeping' as the kids are nicer but there's more "Mark this, mark that! Le parents' evening every month!"

The 13 weeks holiday are not worth it when your job duties include the equivalent of teaching snails how to backflip.

My half spic school didn't even have trig class. They literally scrapped it because there weren't enough kids taking it. Thanks spics.

Statistics is useless. The liberal arts of STEM. Don't know why so many programs have it as a first-year requirement.

You really think some bumblefuck middle manager knows the math for this? They have software that calculates it automatically.

Too hard for the lemmings. Also, it might make them aware of how bad things are if they could figure things out for themselves.

What is ironic about computer science degrees is that aside from a few less math classes, it is essentially a bachelor's degree in mathematics yet colleges don't tell any of the college freshmen this, beforehand, so many people come in expecting to just learn about progroamming languages or make video games only to find out that CS is actually more like a math degree and before midterms or after midterms in CS 101, more than half of your class would have dropped the class already or choose a Pass/No Pass grading so their GPA wouldn't take a severe hit.

If you don't like calculus, getting a CS degree would be pretty painful.

Burguers don't even get taught trig in HS? damn, that's pretty sad.

They did, but it was last year (you'd be 18 y/o) and I pretty much went to the best HS int he whole country, so I guess its the exception to the rule.

the most practically applicable branch of math ever is considered to be the liberal arts of STEM by A FUCKING LEAF

The software programs don't all use the same calculations you dumb maple nigger.

Hey, don't lump all us flyovers together. Most counties in Iowa still require fucking pre-calc for highschool graduation!

Statistics is useless. The liberal arts of STEM.

Kek. But you need to know basics, bro. That's what school is for. You learn the easy software at work.

You don't actually need to learn 'statistics', all you need to learn are common statistical biases.

That being said, I was taught statistics in high school because I'm really smart and they do college material in accelerated American HS programs.

I assume by "executive education" he means teaching professionals/managers/businessmen. Most masters programs at good universities offer classes to those people, so everyone present (usually) wants to be there and wants to learn. Occasionally people are forced to go to those classes by their superiors, but usually its voluntary (and even when it isn't, they can usually gain promotion or become more efficient, so they are still somewhat motivated).

As for the "spoiled brats," would you rather be teaching poor kids with parents that don't care?

The software programs don't all use the same calculations you dumb maple nigger.

Whichever one your business uses will be the one that is "right".

The statistics meme needs to hurry up and die. Time spent on it would be better spent on classes learning things you will actually use for the rest of your life.

What are you going to do, get a job with Gallup and manipulate data however the globalist lobbyists pay your boss to do so?

All I remember how to do is Bayes theorem..and rejecting the null or whatever

Yea maby before but as I said, Allready got a Masters and I suck, that´s because so many used to fail and flunk out so the schools didnt get any fundings, so they dumbed the whole cs degree down to a level that more or less anyone who isn´t black would pass.

Because people would understand that you're more likely to die in a baby-related accident, than from terrorism. The masses understanding statistics would cost elites a lot of shekels.

Almost nobody needs to know how to write statistics, only how to read them.

Most businesses that matter use more than one program. Stop trying to make excuses for your ignorance.

Actually, you don't need a specialist in X to teach subject X at high-school level.

Any retard with a little bit of self-discipline can learn and plan a lesson about any subject and teach it the following day. Again, it would work at high school level only because the standards are as low as they are.

With the current under-supply of Maths teachers, there's a popular option to teach in Dubai and have a great lifestyle. 2 bedroom flat for yourself with a home gym and swimming pool, double your Europe salary (tax free), paid medicare/transport/flights/accommodation.

They want qualified and 'western trained' English speakers to teach some Arabs Maths.

But here? Don't bother. University is probably different though.

Does that equation tell you how many refugee cocks you fit in your mouth?

I took a statistical calculus class in college and it was way over my head, but the one thing i remember from that class is the central limit theorem. i think i had to prove that it was true. it's very cool. to me, it means that the only distribution worth knowing off of the top of your head is the standard normal, ie the bell curve.

Dubai

you'll go mad after 3 weeks due to lack of naturally occurring vegetation although some are able to deal with it

get a job with Gallup

All workplaces that involve some sort of quality or process control employ statistics. That basically includes everything except hairdressers and java programmers.

Brit-Bong. You missed the point of what was said completely.

Your response may as well have been "Here is why some apples are red.".

I wasn't talking about the ability to teach.

all that says is that any averages fall around the mean in a bell curve shape.

whats the point in wasting EVERYONES time with things that are automated and can be explained in 30seconds

some schools do. i had to take trig, pre calc, and statistics.

i was too dumb for it all anyway but somehow i passed. math is not my strongpoint

Dubai

I chose consulting instead of teaching, and I've been to Saudi-Arabia (yeah I know, worse than Dubai) for a 4 month stint. It's fucking hell despite all the "luxury".

It's fucking hell despite all the "luxury".

Can you elaborate? As far as I've heard rumours, you must hand in your passport making you unable to leave the country without permission. Makes me uneasy. What are the negatives? I've never been.

you must hand in your passport making you unable to leave the country without permission

Lol no, that's only for migrant workers (who are treated like slaves).

Can't into college or university yet. What's a reliable internet source?

I'm thinking MIT might have their courses online, I'm not sure though

Hey buddy. I am a retired Aerospace Engineer.

Stay 'educated' -- meanwhile the rest of us with actual hands on experience will continue to do real work. Keep your nose in the books, bucko.

Tfw only learned up to geometry.

Was one of the best students in my school at literally every other class. Got an A+ from the resident hard-ass engish teacher. First one he ever gave he said.

Just cant fucking hold more complex equations than Algerbra in my head. Get frazzled or constantly think "well, why can't I just do this?".

Couldn't even get into a JC.

Tfw feel like a complete retard

Feels bad man.

They do in the UK and (I believe) The Netherlands as elective courses at upper senior school. The 16-18 crowd.

They did

Basic stats for normal students, bull curve, stand distribution ect.

Extension 2 math was really fucking hard, like most teachers couldn't teach it, only one student took it, only one teacher could teach it

Point is, there's almost nothing fun to do there, and it's depressing to see the religion everywhere, plus the oppression that goes on.

This is why we left you Britain. I used to think V for Vendetta was just badly written but then I realized this how people in Britain really speak.
