When he dies he's going to come back to life a year later because he couldn't decide if he wanted to stay retired.

I'm pretty sure his new movie will be about his complete disgust with the younger generation.

youtube.com/watch?v=ngZ0K3lWKRc

Who isn't disgusted with the millennials?

Rightfully so, have you seen how disgusting late night anime is right now?

...

Let me guess

It's going to about a little girl beating the odds yawn

Who cares? What is the appeal of anime? It's even worse when you compare it to Kurosawa and Mizoguchi and Imamura and Oshima and Kawashima and Gosha and all the other masters of Japanese cinema over 100 years. I'll never get why anime is such a major cultural export when Japanese cinema is easily one of the richest in the world.

>Japanese cinema is easily one of the richest in the world
entry level weeb spotted

>mfw a young girl who is one with nature and don't need no land travel

film - high culture, profound and intellectual
anime - pop-culture, shallow, commercialized

People prefer simpler entertainment. Especially young people.

3D Japs can't compete with white people in live action so they resort to anime.

Will this grumpy old pedo fuck ever die?

He's such a luddite.

If he has such high regard for humanity over technology he should ditch his pens, cameras and papers and try making his animations on cave walls with his bare fingers. Would that be "human" enough for him?

He is blind to the possibility that maybe the new technologies and techniques could expand the great artistic canvas our culture can paint upon much like how invention of ink and paper greatly expanded it those thousands upon thousands of years ago.

Technology doesn't make humanity go away. It is a tool that is used to amplify our own capabilities and abilities, including our humanity if we want it to.

Why weren't we put down?

Senile old fool. He's just going to taint whatever legacy he's built with these last minute cash ins on his name like Ridley Scott

Do not go gently into that good night.
Rage, rage, rage against the dying of the light.

It's like you didn't even watch Princess Mononoke. The whole damn movie is about finding BALANCE between environmental protection and allowing humans to develop.

oh look, old chink asshole is getting out of retirement....AGAIN!

IT REMINDS ME OF MY DISABLED FRIEND HURR DURR IM DISGUSTED AND OFFENDED I HATE YOUNG PEOPLE

time for you to fucking die already you stupid bastard

He'll be fine.

>right now
How to know someone doesn't know the anime industry.

Actually it's about a caterpillar, so it'll probably be more Totoro/Ponyo style stuff.

That's fun and all, but I kind of wish he left The Wind Rises as his swan song. absolute ghiblikino

>hating your own generation

absolutely pathetic

Do not go gently into the retirement
Greed, greed, greed against the lack of cash

I haven't seen any anime since 2014, I got completely burned out on it. It's sad to hear if things have gotten worse, 2014 was so sit I had to stop.

>muh generation

That was a reddit comment

Both Miyazaki and your poem need work.

Jesus, the hell's his problem??
He totally just shit on that cool animation experiment for no reason at all. Poor guy looked crushed.
I love his films but he's just being a dick here.

You should always hate stupidity even if it comes from your generation. In fact it is even MORE important to hate it if it is coming from your own generation.

I've yet to see any cuck porn where the wife is watching her husband fuck another woman that wasn't blatantly professional porn with paid porn whores.

But I've seen thousands of amateur men filming their wives get fucked.

So not only is he the jimmy savile of japan, hes the soderbergh too?

Is he going to help THE MASTER on 3.0+1.0?

that animation is actually pretty cool in its own merits, fucking old fart has spent his life making overrated disney-tier anime, who the fuck does he think he is to be that hurtful and ignorant about other people's work

>He's back.

oh fucking stop it.

Everytime he makes something, he makes it and then goes like 'ahh I'm gonna retire'

then he passive aggressively shits on japanese drawing media

then he comes out of retirement again and makes a move and ad infinitum

just fucking stop it

It's Porco Rosso 2

He's only back because he can draw airplanes again, because he loves airplanes, you know?

Is he going to make something with a story?
His best bet would be to adapt something that already exists like Wind in the Willows

I pity him. Technology came too late for him. He was too old to learn new tricks by then.
Why can't he learn CGI? He loves animated airplane but is it great to use computer for that?

I haven't seen this. But from what I can gather, it's just about sex and how sex ruins relationships. Literally all the girls in this show do and talk about is sex.

>Why can't he learn CGI?
He's used CGI in ever one of his films since the 90s

What he's offended by is that they would choose to use the AI kinematics system they developed, to present something grotesque to him instead of something that is simply alien

It literally promotes cuckolding.

When were you born? Just curios

1996, and no I'm not a fucking millenial so don't start that shit.

Hasn't he retired like 10 times already?

Guess who's back

Back again

He first retired in 1997 after Princess Mononoke.

He really did want to in 1995 after Whisper of the Heart but the guy they wanted to leave Ghibli to died. He's not going to leave it to his untalented son that's for sure, and Anno is too crazy.

A reminder that Miyazaki is the John Kricfalusi of Japanese Animation.

Both hate newer shit and rather want kids to draw from life.

it's really strange seeing an asian guy with a full beard

The difference being that Miyazaki actually finishes his work.

literally who?

Kids should draw from life. They aren't wrong about that.

If they don't, everything will end up in a spiral of making inferior copies of adventure time noodlearms and then copying the copies and copies' copies and with each generation shit'll get worse and worse.

Ren and Stimpy man.

John K. is a hack who totally blew it with the adult rated shit

>Born in 96
>Not a millennial

Is this bait? The cutoff is like 1985..

terveiset. Billy west.

He was a total fucking hack who loved the smell of his own farts

>terv-

Don't.

Stop.

oh right! those ugly ass cartoons from the 90s right? those who along with another bunch of shit 90s cartoons (including batman the animated series or everything made by tartakovsky) set a new low to fine quality animation, because of them now all we have is WD Animation Studios shit tier poorly drawn and poorly animated cartoon movies every year! yeah that guy! man, without him we wouldn't have phineas and ferb or fairly oddparents!

It is not a fucking bait, I am not a millenial and I fucking hate that word. It's just a meaningless word old people came up with to label a people they don't understand and are as usual, afraid of.

I don't know a single millenial. I am not friends with any millenials. They don't exist. We are just regular people and your labels do not define me no matter what some arbitrary year cutoff makes you think.

t. corrector.

Thank you Lord of War.

8/10, literally made me laugh out loud at work.

Well played.

Wow, you obviously don't know shit.

Not that user but I don't, explain what he was talking about? Was all that stuff he said true?

The new movie is using cg

youtube.com/watch?v=-2tOLbZLpWE&t=120s&ab_channel=Kennil

Is he finally going to top Spirited Away?

So he literally came back from retirement because ghibli can't do shit without him (and takahata) right?

I highly doubt it

I feel bad for those guys because they look like they want to commit sudoku afterwards but I agree with him and they are pretty stupid for presenting him of all people with something like that and expecting him to take kindly to it.

Why does he live in a Starbucks?

It's not a "tool" if you literally are making an AI machine to do everything for you. It's like you didn't even watch the video.

>Hayao Miyazaki is out of retirement and working on a new film

>Hayao Miyazaki is out of retirement and working on a new film

Wow, totally never saw that coming

He's spot on when he says humans have lost faith in themselves. People have had all the passion drained out of them, they just want to coast along until they die.

>le pesimist "fuck le humanity" old man meme
fuck off, or at least say all people has passion drained out of them, the fact that you are surrounded by idiots doesn't mean people is all the same, get out off your bubble fag

>yfw he's scared that when Kimi No Na Wa is released in the US, it will overtake his beloved trash Spirited Away

...

>Miyazaki so butthurt that Your Name overtook Spirited Away as the highest grossing anime film he's literally coming out of retirement

Anyone who "retired" or "takes a hiatus" is an attention whoring faggot. They just want their fans to jerk him off on social media before he unretires. When you're a creative entertainer you never retire. Don't believe this nip jew's lies. His only good movie was mononoke anyway. god I fucking hate weebs

He's not wrong, CG took a lot of the soul out of animated features (I say this while Toy Story and the Incredibles are two of my favorite animated films). There have been a lot of steps away from heartfelt creation in all forms of media over the past couple decades, not just animation. Who's to blame is debatable, could be businesses streamlining everything; could be young creators being less inspired to create and more willing to have crutches shouldering most of the creation process.

I'm sure most of his resentment towards this project is stemming from his frustration with the direction of art in general, not that he's actually mad at those guys specifically. It was an opportunity for him to comment on the subject of computers sucking the soul out of art, and he did.

>They just want their fans to jerk him off on social media

wow

SO fucking WHAT.

We all know we're going to get a stale, boring, cutsie wootsie, "Oh Mimi-san I am gril and I am unsherrtain UGU that boy is kawaaiiii". Ponyo phish sucking, Totaro rimming, Cat returns, up from faggy hill trash.

We will NEVER see the interesting, sour, darker hues of his works. He has three good films:

>Spirited Away
>Princess Mononoke
>Castle in the Sky

Honirrubru mentions go to Howl's Moving castle and Grave of the Firefly's (Which is just a tear jerker, it's not actually that great).

We will never get the gritty, wandering, violent sci-fi I know him to be capable of but too much of an autistic, pedantic fuck feeling he is better off preaching and shitting about gooks making loli hentai when he does the same thing "IS JUSTU PYUUURR BABRY GRIL" as his only excuse.

dailymotion.com/video/x2y2269

Mmm. New pasta. Thanks user!

That was so cathartic, I should be paying you 400$ instead of the shitty therapist my HMO got me.

>I was only p-pretending guys! I swear

>tfw we will NEVER see the real anime Kino

This clearly shows that millenials are cucks

did anyone see the red turtle, how was it?

Holy shit that music video. It's a crime he hasn't done any sci-fi, he's clearly able to.

Gothicmade is anorexic trash. FSS is pure cinémæ

>Keit-ai literally dragging him out of retirement
FINDS

Did they sudoku afterwards?

Excellent. Visually, it's simple but looks fantastic with the muted colours. There's no dialogue but the story is great. There's a lot to think about. Overall, it's definitely better than Zootopia and Kubo. I haven't seen the other two Oscar nominees for best animated feature.

Very nice. I hope he does something japanese mythology inspired again.

So much talent in one picture

Can't wait for this to get the new generation of weeks into gender bender.

I don't get this whole "people today..." or "the whole direction things are going in..." meme. There are tons of highly motivated, creative, intelligent artists out there making intensely emotional and spiritual work. I was born in '95 and my peers are probably way more hardworking and ambitious than our/their parents ever were TBQHF

That's because you are pretty much gen Z.
When they say that people are unmotivated they are referring to millennial and the previous generation, and they are completely right.
Your gen benefit greatly, in way you can't even realize, from the internet.

>I am so dedicated to my work that I must retire as I have reached my creative limits and must retire
>I cannot stay retired I am too dedicated to my work I must discover my creative limits
>through dedication to my work I undermine the dedication to my work

Japan is so fucking stupid.

...
