hi
hello
yes, hello, i like new zealand
Hey thanks man, it's a pretty cool place.
Two houses down the road from me there is a house with a big flag pole with the Slovakia flag flying on it so I see it everyday, hows life there?
Are there heaps of castles? I've heard there are heaps of castles.
When my mother was a child, she tried to dig a hole to reach New-Zealand to see her cousins. Sadly she had to give up.
hallo ich komme aus canada und ich mochte ein austria gf ich spreche shr gutter deutsch ja danke fur lessen
That's a sad and boring story. Im sorry, I wanted to get it out of my chest. Also I'm sure you loved to read it.

there are heaps of castles. Mostly ruins, but the concentration is one of, if not the highest in yurop. We have a good topology for castles, lots of good castle hills.
life would be better if we didn't have a post-eastern bloc mentality though.
got any castles in NZ? I hear you too have good castle hills, except i'm not sure whether there was anyone to build them on the isles back when castles mattered
This is either faked or tabloid.
Not that I try to disagree with it but the writing style is literally Sup Forums tier.
Yeah we were discovered a bit late for castles and the natives didn't build forts (Pā they called them) to last so we have little little in that regard.
Although we might have a few colonial forts about but those are few and far between.
>life would be better if we didn't have a post-eastern bloc mentality though.
I've always heard about this eastern bloc mentality but I still don't understand what it's all about.
Nah man it's a cute wee story, who hasn't tried to dig to other places when they were young.
Hi! I hope /carib/ isn't ded.
Why isnt /flag/
:^(
these native forts, how advanced are they in terms of materials?
>I've always heard about this eastern bloc mentality but I still don't understand what it's all about.
well, gommunism and planned economy resulted in several things, the prominent being:
>trust nobody, since even your good friends could be secret police informers.
Not necessarily voluntarily or knowingly, but still.
>you'll never get anywhere without the right friends in the right places
bribery was a standard and it still lives on. Mostly in doctors and bureaucrats. This also resulted in people working only enough not to get fired, which was a pretty low standard, since if they fired you, they'd have even less of a workforce. This resulted in a brutal underproduction.
With that came the
>what you don't steal yourself, your neighbour will
mantra. You worked at a butchery? You made sure to hide half of the little meat that came across your hands for your family.
so today, even in capitalism, people lie, steal and bribe, not understanding it only hurts them. Oh and another result of an authoritarian regime combined with a history of a timid nation is, people don't aspire to change things for the better, they just drink and complain, sometimes beat their family for good measure. The only hope comes in form of the young generations unspoiled by that, but they have their own spoils. We'll see..
>natives didn't build forts
misread that. Disregard my question from the previous post
Aw shit that was a mistype, my bad it's fucking late, they did they were fairly basic made from wood and logs ad changed locations every now and then.
I don't know much about them desu we were taught about all this in school but me being a little shit I didn't much care for the natives history so I just slacked off, I only recently find myself interested in it.
Ahhh I see the mentality now, that's a big problem, how do you see the young?
Are they changing for the good, staying in the rut your all in now or is it one bad thing taking over another?
co to za nitka
>native history
are natives aware of it, do they keep traditions and educate their young about where they came from?
>Are they changing for the good, staying in the rut your all in now or is it one bad thing taking over another?
can't know. I mean, people who are now about 30 years of age are a lost generation. They've been victims of a wave of parenting in the style of
>don't you let nobody tell you what to do, you must fight for whatever you want to do
which produces spoiled people incapable of functioning in a civil society. At best you'll get a neighbour that ignores you when you say hello, but you also might get a man who'll assault you if you politely ask him not to smoke on a bus stop full of people and insist on it. The top of this class are people that found their way to power through corruption and think themselves lords of the realm, untouchable by law, because they'll just threaten, bribe, or otherwise liquidate anyone who dares oppose them.
well, and this generation has children who won't be any better. They're probably not a majority, but these people usually hold on to their power, however local, so they'll influence public life here for quite a while from now.
funniest thing is, the universally hated millenials might just be the best chance for Slovakia. They're silly with their facebooks and fidget spinners and whatnot, but it's them who organise anti-corruption demonstrations, they have initiative and that's what's been missing. The rest will follow, if they can just show the common folk that politics doesn't necessarily equal oppression.

yes
>are natives aware of it, do they keep traditions and educate their young about where they came from?
Yeah for sure, it's encouraged everywhere some pick it up, others don't really care and see it as no longer relevant.
Fuck sounds like your country has a hard road ahead of it, though if people keep pushing somethings bound to give.
I didn't think corruption was as bad in your country, is mainly in the higher ups in a close circle or is it down on the street as well?

What a fucking thread so far lads, you should be proud of yourselves at this marvel of a human creation.
strange that it dropped off right when Sven posted anime
It shall never die
Eternal Anglo enters the thread!
>Yeah for sure, it's encouraged everywhere some pick it up, others don't really care and see it as no longer relevant.
and does native culture precipitate into the mainstream? I know your rugby teams have their haka dances, but what about everyday life, or maybe language?
>is mainly in the higher ups in a close circle or is it down on the street as well?
government corruption is the worst of it, if that goes, it'll be easier to tackle the smaller fish.
At lower levels, the scarier thing are the ignorant peasants who stole enough money to feel bold enough actually threaten others
Fun is over boys
Awwww :(
get out of my thread
Hello, what's up?
No!
In everyday life not really, the language is slowly reviving but for the most part it's seen as useless, mainstream society would like to see the language used more often but people are lazy and don't want to learn it.
Hello hello.
Anyone else think that countries should be known in every language as what it's natives call it like polska, deutschland and magyarorzág instead of specific-language friendly names like poland, germany and hungary
I'm depressed
what would we call belgium then
