They moved away from occult and psychological horror aspects from Season 1 and just went for a more or less straight cop show.

Different (and bad) directors for every episode

Completely agree, it just felt geneic crime show.

felt like a generic*

its called pleb filter

you pleb

What? And how was the first season?

Just the last episode. Holy shit.

A single director for each episode

What didn't go wrong

Nothing. It was good.

That is to say, a single director led the entire season

frankposting was a bit too complicated for everyone to join in and get it right, so it fell out of fashion

Which is a real shame, it was one of my favourite memes

The script, also it was missing Cary Fukunaga

No, it's called a shitty script and some retard pretending it was good for hipster points. You need to find healthier ways to get attention, lad.

LA was a stupid choice for the setting.

It's not really about setting. Thing is not about "what" you use, thing's about "how" you use, and they used it shitty.

Sometimes, when a man makes a decision, he has to accept the consequences of his actions like a man—hold onto life like a wild stallion in the prairie. But in a way, I was born without hands. And I've spent my whole life ripping off people's arms. I take their hands. Use their arms to fashion a seatbelt for myself on this lifelong roller coaster we're all stuck on. And buddy, it's not OSHA certified. Casper knew this

Two of those things are not the same as the other two

They tried to stuff in feminist and LGBT issues at any cost which pushed them to add in two characters and ... it's just a clusterfuck.

I can't even tell if thats real or fake

These + too quick of a turn around for the writer/creator to not plagiarize obscure books
+ Rust was such a fan favorite that he went full retard and made every character Rust, essentially

I liked it more than the first season, kill me
I get so hyped when I read that they're gonna do the third season but fucking dropped it because robert downey jr will play main character

>to not plagiarize obscure books
What books? Unironically want to read, give me the list if you can please :-)

Thomas Ligotti, The Conspiracy Against the Human Race: A Contrivance of Horror

"You think adoption is the answer? Every last one of us is an orphan, just takes some of us a lifetime to figure it out."

"Frankly, Blake, with what I'm planning lately, I'm chagrined at your brunch etiquette. This is our first and last meal together. For today. We live in a world of reciprocal ambivalencies and inherited griefs. And I can't even get my avocados to grow. So if your countenance doesn't fucking unfix itself, I'm all done slicing pineapple rings for you, pal. In fact, I'm gonna start pissing your name all over these walls. And I can't even spell."

He's not. Thats another project Pizzaman is working on.

If you want to hunt, don't think about drawing first blood; the sharks can smell it on you.

Plot was really convoluted and, most of all, boring as fuck. First season they were trying to catch a serial killer second season was about land deals or something.

I think the quick turnaround was the biggest factor. You can't rush art.

too convoluted, everyone was the same brooding down in the dumps character, the over-arching plot devices of diamonds and land holdings and real estate and trains didnt connect well with literally anything.

it was dumb. it was a shitty followup

they could've made it about pedos, murder or corruption of starlets in LA, ties to big business within the industry...

that would have been awesome, but probably would have exposed hollywood a little too closely

They rushed it and thats why it all went wrong.

Even some HBO execs admitted afterwards that forcing Pizzaman to get it out like any other yearly season was a mistake.

Season 2 best season

I don't deal with bitches. I let the mutts break 'em in and make the runts lick up the mess.

My pops used to tell me people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. So you know what I did? I found the biggest rock I could and I threw a glass house at it. You gotta think outside the box Ray. Caspere knew this.

I hate intro song so much but it's catchy af.

war was lost

I WAS NOT KEKED

war was lost
but no this dubs

Clapped like a retarded seal. Well done.

My only edit would be to say he threw glass at it, as opposed to a glass house.

Rachel McAdams Sphincter Fantasies

moustached Collin farrel was good

Is there going to be another season?

yes

I thought the glass house was a weirder image but yeah probably a better choice.

Wrong, they did away with the philosophical, and moral themes, while reducing the familial relations to gay sex, fatkid, and no kid.

Wacthing 5th episode and what the fuck is this shit, hell is this.

>they say a dove never hatched from a crows egg. Well Ray, I was born in an eagles nest.

They didn't leave it season 1 to be a standalone mini series because it's a masterwork that could never have possibly been topped

How

I haven't watched season 2 yet? But is that really why people don't like season 2 - because of the lack of psychological horror? There wasn't exactly much of that in season 1...

Pretty good

Best Sup Forums meme of all time and the only good thing to come out of this show

>it's like blue balls in my heart

I liked when the Irishman beat up the kid.

No he's a dipshit, it was a lot more convoluted, and lacked a long term narrative with a moral focus like the first season. When Rust and Marty were opining there were some intelligent insights on people and human nature, when they tried the same with Frank's character, it spawned a bunch of shitposting. I still enjoyed it

Anybody else like the soundtrack in this scene, especially after the 5 or 6 minute mark. It was much more interesting than the synth droning in my opinion.

Out of interest, how is Vaughan in it? When he was first announced to be in season 2 I was hoping he'd be good in it - before I'd even seen season 1.

In fact whilst I'm talking about it, has the writer said what he'd have done differently if he was given more time - or is he pleased with the result?

It was far to pessimistic. Although I think it got unfairly shit on by plebs. I feel like people completely missed the fact that the 3 male MC's all died and the one woman lived. Not only that but they all died directly due to what society expects from men. Men are ultimately disposable.

>I'd take you to the cleaners, but I'm out of quarters. I put them in a sock to beat up some rats for dinner, and I lost the sock. But that's okay, I prefer to fight dirty.

Can't speak for the writer, but Vaughan was alright and there are some generally enjoyable scenes where he's beating up spics and yelling at them about his avocado trees. The only time he really couldn't pull it off was when the script was lacking, and I really think that was a big part of this second seasons problems, along with what I already mentioned. I'll have to check out what the writer thinks about it.

I liked him but I feel like I'm in the minority.

very little

only that the "we need to find the diamonds used by the bad guys for their sexy parties that were originally robbed from a jewellery shop 10 years ago belonging to the murdered parents of two kids trying to get revenge " plotline was too contrived

why the fuck would the policemen who robbed the jewellery shop for diamonds still have the diamonds?

why didn't the kids just murder the policemen who did it instead of doing dumb nonsense with animal masks and working for the mayor?

they knew who killed their parents and that they worked as police so they could easily find out "Oh they're the police chief and deputy plice chief now" and find out where they live and just wait near their house n a car with a shot gun across the street and wait for them to get home

s2 had a fuck ton to live up to. In a way it was destined to flop in the eyes of many. That being said, it's not a particularly bad show. The concept of this really dreary, corrupt city was interesting but it needed a single strong director to pull everything together.

harry potter and the chamber of secrets

I liked him too, I enjoy memes.

>only that the "we need to find the diamonds used by the bad guys for their sexy parties that were originally robbed from a jewellery shop 10 years ago belonging to the murdered parents of two kids trying to get revenge " plotline was too contrived[/spoiler

When you put it like that it really is contrived.

>it needed a single strong director to pull everything together.

Agree with this.

sheeeiittt, that wasn't all supposed to be spoilers.

I liked it but I felt lost on the plot for the first I think... 5 episodes before things started making sense.

I think I'll watch the first episode now anyway and see what I think. Thanks for your thoughts

Yeah the diamond thing was silly. Corrupt officials would have been fine on it's own.

I liked Vaughn but I feel people dislike him in general so he gets shit regardless.

The audience was full of unthinking plebs

Nothing. Reviewers had an agenda and wanted to kill Pizzalette.

I used to think my whole life was a roll of the dice. But you know what I realized? I'm playing fucking Jenga.

Redpill me on this, is it because he's Goyim?

Is it because his show set in rural Louisiana had an unsettling depiction of religion, without condemning those who believe in Christ? Whatever I bet the Jews did this...

no eddie redmayne for colin farrell to diddle

Someone post Rachel McAdams dat ass webm

horrible dialogue and contrived sideplots that didnt go anywhere, like mcadams dad rape or whatever the fuck and her porn sister with the hilarious run.

Tojo knew this.

Are you autistic? That was just to talk about her personality

Same with the guy and the dark room with the rats history or the gay partner of the cop

Needed more McAdams ass tbqh

I heard S2 is shittier than S1, I've seen S1 and really liked it, is S2 worth?

I don't know why they thought super cop "war god" was necessary or why he would work. The body count of season 2 is already fucking ridiculous with something like 11 cops dead in that big shootout. I'm not sure 11 cops have died at once during anything besides 9/11

If S1 is a 9.5/10 then S2 a 9/10

Totally worth it

There was that nig chimpout in Dallas. He killed like 5.

It was not as good as first season (mainly because it had too many main characters) but still 5/5.

Definition of pleb filter btw.

lolwut

LA is pretty varied. They could have easily done a better job but the writers fucked up. Even if the story took place in Boston or Minny, the writers weren't on their best game.

Objectively correct answer: they made every character Rust. They thought

>FANS LIKE RUST SO LET'S GIVE THEM MORE RUST

Rust only works as a single character when paired by grounded characters like Marty. A show full of Rust is a shitload of fuck.

>grapeshot lmao

Actually the whole thing got steamrolled into production after the success of the first season. Even with the celebs everyone expected it to be a one and done show.
>There was no writing done
>There was no lying JJ "We planned this from the begging" Abrams.

It boils down to greed. HBO said "make more for a paycheck" and all the creators bowed to the great green god.
