poor guy

kind of feel for him even though his film was shit

>move over white bois

*record scratch*

>Yep, that's me. I bet you're wondering how I ended up in this situation.

He still became the youngest best director winner, he'll be fine.

Whatever, hopefully he can make something as good as Whiplash again and win for something that's actually great.

...

If you got Best Director.. Doesn't that mean you made the best movie really?

Gets the neurons firing.

This is something I never understand. If this one a bunch of awards during the night shouldn't it have won the whole thing? Didn't this happen with 12 Years a Slave too? How can you not construct it as being political at this point? Why do people put so much weight in awards anyway? Why am I asking this shitty board?

He was very gracious about it desu

No one even watches these things but fags niggers and women. Who cares.

this is the look of a man who's been slapped in the face with a big black cock

Your post is distilled ignorance.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

He got his Best Director Oscar. Best Film goes to the producers, he actually didn't lose anything.

...

in recent years, they've split best dirctor and best film to appease everyone

>tfw when you see your beautiful white daughter come home with a big black boyfriend name Jamal

You're right you should go back and ask the board you came from.

Yes, technically.
But it's his baby everybody knows that. Everyone thanked him in their acceptance speech. He wrote and directed and probably conceived the story as well. It's huge shock to the system as a filmmaker.

You could argue that for sure. I just simply do not understand how it won two awards before Best Picture and then won it all when La La Land was nominated more and won some really huge awards. It's like Return of the King going for the whole sweep and then Mystic River taking home Best Picture. And I'm sure they are both great movies I haven't seen either and you can tell that because I'm posting here. But I just don't understand why this is a thing.

no, it means you did the best job managing the hundreds of people who work on a major movie set

the director doesn't necessarily even have the final say w/r/t the creative decisions of a production

It's still different telling people you directed the Best Picture even with the Best Director award.

He wrote the film too. This is his project more or less.
