The Grand Debate
I don't know that Hou guy but I like WKW, what are some of Hou's movies?
I've never seen a Wong Kar-wai film but I have had Chungking Express lying around for a year or so and haven't got around to it. A good place to start?

Kim Ki-duk.
I'd rather not choose because I love them both, but WKW holds a special place in my heart.
tough tough tough probably WKW purely on the basis that his films are usually structured tighter

WKW is a hack who got lucky because he had Christopher Doyle as his cinematographer.
Films with Doyle:
>Days of Being Wild
>Chungking Express
>Ashes of Time
>Fallen Angels
>Happy Together
>In the Mood for Love
>2046
Films after Doyle stopped working with him:
>My Blueberry Nights
>The Grandmaster
desu the cinematography wasn't the problem in either of the post doyle films
I heard good things about The Assassin, but I haven't watched it yet.
In the mood for love and fallen angels are my favourite movies off all time. What else can (bogpill) you recommend me bog
