Why is cinema so boring nowadays?

Why is cinema so boring nowadays?

reddit generation

Because they are made to push agendas and make easy money off nostalgia instead of being entertaining or creative.

It costs too much money to take risks.
Every studio is 2 flops away from bankruptcy.

Why are you?

like 95% of movies are formulaic cape shit remakes meant to extract wealth, put together by a committee with forced diversity in order to appeal to all markets.
None of the movies are set in reality, there is no hardship, no real people, its all fantasy and super hero shit.

film died. digital got pushed to save money and it shows

You're not watching movies.
You only care about the title of the movie, the merch and the discussion surrounding it.

That's what's "so boring".

There was a great post on here I saw a few weeks ago, was probably pasta but it went into detail about how majority of old time actors had life experiences, have done interesting things and never originally set out to be an actor, it happened by chance. Their performances and ability were just plain better because instead of spending their youth trying to become a great actor through classes they were just people that went out and enjoyed life. Same can be said about how directors and writers from the golden age and so on draw inspiration from life experiences where modern movies copy the things that worked in older stuff. It's not original. We're seeing movies that were inspired by other movies instead of movies inspired by life. The post I saw explained it much better than I am but that was the general idea.

Also Studio involvement is very bad right now too, but it's hard to call it bad when the bland stuff we see getting released makes a shitload of money. Maybe it's just that the audiences in general have gotten worse?

TOO expensive 2 take chances
Needs China Market to make any money
Everyone on earth is a fag

Son'y has had like 10 in a row, when are they just going to die?

What do you want to watch, spiderman part 10, the reboot, this time spidermans a nigger, the movie based on the old tv show, the movie based on the young adult novel.

We live in a capitalist society, there is no such thing as art, entertainment and art are different things, entertainment is a product meant to extract wealth, it is disposable and forgettable.

Everything under capitalism is based off of templates and archetypes, the heroes journey, the remake, the reboot, the expanded universe, the franchise.

Literally everything is about money

>Also Studio involvement is very bad right now too
Studios are more and more relying on tentpole productions for their income. When you're bugeting a production at a quarter billion dollars, with that much for marketing, and having to make a billion to get in the black I can appreciate why beancounter execs want to make sure its as safe as possible and meddle in production.
The problem is that they've apparently given up on smaller and medium budget movies outside of occasionally buying distribution rights for a handful of indie sweetheart movies.

unions

Yeah and North Korean movies are so shit they had to kidnap a capitalist director. No system creates perfect art.

because you are boring

Sony is now a ponzi scheme company for japanese retired.

When people stop buying PS4s and Blu Rays

Literally everything is about subjective value, money is just a tool to quantify it

>north korea
>ignoring soviet film

You will be first against the wall comrade

Would rather watch nork films that the garbage nightmare world of endless remakes and market tested faggotry

I think in the future there will be only one film, called the hero movie, and it will have unlimited sequels and remakes and the jews will call it an "endless universe", also it will be made in america but tailor made for Chinese audiences.

Also the government will provide you with a free pistol to shoot yourself with

Cause

>OP posts an image from a Japanese flick
>all replies are about Hollywood and money
Everyone ITT is a potato and OP is a faggot that needs to watch more flicks and stop complaining about non-existent problems.

Gotta sift through the shit to get to the gold. There are great movies being made you just have to find them.

The moneylenders have run out of ideas and gen Z shitters are content with endless marvel + disney reboots rather than embracing original franchises

We are living in a kind of spenglerian post-cultural decline reminiscent of the late ancient roman empire shortly before its collapse, our only choice is to watch the world burn and ride the tiger into the sunset of Kali Yuga until the world is cleansed and renewed again

the entire world is making movies, you cant say all cinema today is boring

Funny to see a commie talking about the meaning of art when according to commie doctrine humans don't even possess any kind of soul or agency which are both prime requirements for true works of art.

Also lol at your clueless ass equating ancient natural racial archetypes with capitalism itself despite the fact that they predate it by literally tens of millions of years. Literally viewing things only from the limited judeo-marxist perspective of the mid-19th century and thinks he's figured out the workings of nature and the universe because of it.

What a fucking pretentious retard, kill yourself you know nothing

>Literally everything is about money
No, it's about how you persuade people to direct their labor toward a certain goal.

How are you going to persuade people to give you $100 million worth of labor on your self-indulgent artsy film masterpiece that no one will pay to see, rather than Spiderman 10 which will give the laborers a return on their effort?

This is a retarded post, Suzuki lost his job for making this movie so explicitly not boring compared to what Nikkatus wanted from it

it's not. you are just bored with it. you're projecting your boredom onto the medium. that's juvenile and/or a sign of depression. either get help or grow up.

1. Cinematic universes
2. Shooting on digital cameras instead of film and not color grading properly
3. Really, really, shitty color grading
4. Sequels, spin offs, prequels, and other forms of derivative trash
5. Over reliance on CGI
6. Trite, boring, and predictable plot lines. When I saw Lawrence of Arabia and citizen Kane I never knew what was going to happen next, despite the intro to both movies being the title character dying, and was constantly surprised and involved.
7. Political correctness and politically charged movies. Keep it to yourself Hollywood! People are tired of being force fed the same messages
8. Too much studio intervention. Thanks a lot Michael Cimino

Anyone think of more?

>1. Cinematic universes
>4. Sequels, spin offs, prequels, and other forms of derivative trash
>8. Too much studio intervention. Thanks a lot Michael Cimino
There are more options than ever before to see movies outside of the studio system. If these are your primary complaints for all modern films than you must only be watching blockbusters

>7. Political correctness and politically charged movies. Keep it to yourself Hollywood! People are tired of being force fed the same messages
This has been around forever. Political correctness used to be enforced by studio law for all of hollywoods golden years

China
1) action sequences are filled with useless CGI and are too Long and bloated because barley literate Chinese people like them, so instead of being fun they are tedious and ruin the pacing of the film
2) controversial topics can't come up , as Chinese government would ban it (such as ghosts and witches I guess)
3) scripts / plots have to be dumb so they can be easily translated into Ching Chong language
4) the way a film is shot means that the character speaking largely has to be in the center of scene so the subtitles are easier to match up

That being said: this is mostly a criticism of mainstream Hollywood blockbuster type films

People are talking about larger Hollywood movies not some independent flick.

>league of decency
>political correctness

Good addition, Hollywood is catering to polarizing markets

The Production Code had clauses against offending the church, the government, and any person of color or creed, as well as all the moral crusading. How is that any different in purpose than "political correctness"

short answer = jews
anyone can make a film for cheap though nowdays but it wont get into any cinema and u wont make money lol

This as well.
