>Kong: Skull Island may include some clever period details and idiosyncratic asides, but it’s largely a blockbuster B-movie less interested in depth than scale.
SOLD!
this is gonna bomb so hard
Half of these don't read like fresh reviews
>It lacks neither fun nor polish, but it has the square tidiness of a compartmentalized fast-food meal.
This is literally Marvel movies and those get 110% rating!
Cuckman hated it and gave it a C
>The surprise is that “Skull Island” isn’t just ten times as good as “Jurassic World”; it’s a rousing and smartly crafted primordial-beastie spectacular.
>It also cannot be overstated what an asset [John C.] Reilly is. The moment he shows up, the movie feels enlivened and energized; his mere presence adds a tremendous amount of oddball charm and humor.
>This highly entertaining return of one of the cinema's most enduring giant beasts moves like crazy — the film feels more like 90 minutes than two hours — and achieves an ideal balance between wild action, throwaway humor, genre refreshment and, perhaps most impressively, a nonchalant awareness of its own modest importance in the bigger scheme of things
>If the film belongs to anyone, it’s creature designer Carlos Huante. Kong is expressive and impressive, both in hair and full-body movement, and his interaction – with water, humans, other animals – is consistently fluid.
>This is a creature feature, plain and simple — and, at least on a visceral level, a satisfying one.
>This fantastically muddled and exasperatingly dull quasi-update of the King Kong story looks like a zestless mashup of Jurassic Park, Apocalypse Now and a few exotic visual borrowings from Miss Saigon. It gets nowhere near the elemental power of the original King Kong or indeed Peter Jackson’s game remake; it’s something Ed Wood Jr might have made with a trillion dollars to do what he liked if he’d been given a trillion dollars – but minus the fun
>Caution should always be taken when branding any film about an 80-foot ape "illogical", but such is the gross stupidity of the film's movable feast - and the abominable dialogue spewing from their mouths - that you'll likely thank the primate deity himself every time one is crushed, impaled or bisected

KONG KINO HAS ARRIVED pRAISE BE OUR NEW KONG OVERLORDS
>make your movie into a disney quiptastic trailer to appease the normies
>get this
I'll wait for based black critic to review this
How does this not have any more depth to it than a superhero shitty marvel movie? This is seriously one of the best action movies I've seen so far this year. Are critics retarded?
/Ourguy/ Chris stuckmann didn't like it, so we don't like it
Only Disney can do Disney
Tune in next week for Beauty and the Beast's 98%
>The surprise is that Skull Island isn’t just ten times as good as Jurassic World; it’s a rousing and smartly crafted primordial-beastie spectacular.
>Mix King Kong with The Lost World, spike it with a bracing dash of Apocalypse Now and you've got Kong: Skull Island, in which Warner Bros. finally gets the effects-driven fantasy adventure formula right again after numerous misfires. This highly entertaining return of one of the cinema's most enduring giant beasts moves like crazy — the film feels more like 90 minutes than two hours — and achieves an ideal balance between wild action, throwaway humor, genre refreshment and, perhaps most impressively, a nonchalant awareness of its own modest importance in the bigger scheme of things; unlike most modern franchise blockbusters, it doesn't try to pummel you into submission.
KONG-KINO
reviews are in the middle, whats the problem?
I'm gonna want to like it so bad just because it's a 70s movie that isn't "hey it's LA in the 70s" and I'm sure I'll be disappointed
More like "it's okay when does it"
I do wish an elaborate large scale prank could be pulled by hollywood to release a disney movie directed by JJ Abrams, but the twist: it's not, it was done on WB/Paramount bucks and the big kicker is that it was actually directed by Mel Gibson.
ITS OVER! WB CANT EVEN MANAGE IT'S MONSTER UNIVERSE AHAHAHAHAHAH!
its fine, what are you talking about? B grade for this is bad or are you projecting? jesus
why would anyone care about this movie?
>Being better than Jurassic World is a mentionable achievement.
you must be a real riot at parties.
Cuckmann is a foggot. 8/10 movie confirmed (possibly)
>supporting mindless cash-grab remakes
you're the reason most movies are trash
>6.3/10
JUST
Could very well end up rotten
The reviews just started coming in
It's going to be D-grade at best when it comes out
It will be fine godzilla 2014 ended up at 74% if its around there it will be fine even at 60% they wont care as longas it makes $$$. i still plan on seeing it next week.
>SJW director
>Marvel quips
>FUN FUN FUN trailer
>still crashes and burns
Anyone read the review from this "Top Critic", Bilge Ebiri from the Village Voice? First of all what the FUCK kind of name is """Bilge"""" """"Ebiri""""? What is he, from Africa? Haha, gay, right?
For real tho, this review is fucking stupid as hell, 90% of it is a dull recital of the film's plot. Is this what passes for a review? Just writing out the film's plot and pretending it's a review, offering little to no analysis or insight into the film itself? I don't read reviews to get spoiled on the plot. Who hired this clown?
And lastly if that is what passes for a professional review from a "Top Critic", how do I get a job 'reviewing' kino? I can write out a plot synopsis too....
Negro, you know just how to get my goat.
Okay so between this and King Arthur which will lose WB more money?

Disney hired Guy Richie for Aladdin after he had been working on King Arthur which is a fantasy movie that's probably somewhat similar to what Aladdin will be like. WB gives more creative control to directors than Disney generally does, so if people like Disney movies that have been making good amounts of money maybe they'll like the King Arthur Guy Richie movie.
>it ain't WE starts playing
what did james woof think about it?
>score is still going down
>Implying Jurassic World is bad
KONG KINO
Chris Cuckmann didn't like it, so I guess we'll like this?
>Lost World
>Jurassic Park
>Jurassic World
>JP3
LOOKS LIKE KINO'S BACK ON THE MENU BOYS
