best place to start into the Donald Duck lore?

The old Ducktales comics were good

Germany
Donald Duck. some pronounce it like a German word, sounds like the english would say dook. I think they like to think back of the time when they read the "lustiges Taschenbuch" with Donald and didn't understand english yet

Anything made by Carl Barks and Don Rosa, especially The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck.

Once m father brought a russian Duck Magazine. Had a dart gun (suction cups) with surprisingly strong spring. Became rather hazardous after the suction cup broke, but that's Russia for you. Also had stuff for little children, like puzzle pages, which was another culture shock. No such nonsense in Finnish Aku Ankka.

I'm pretty sure the hat colors change in every story.
Also, some time ago Don Rosa was brought up on Sup Forums and I ended up uploading all his stuff on mega, I'm disgustingly phoneposting right now and I don't know if I can pull the link, if I can I'll post it.

those are all in different syllables though
not the same thing

There you go, was easier than I thought. The whole thing is about 1.3 gigs. Has everything by Rosa organized by year + some Carl Barks stuff + extra. Life and times is twice there, in the folder of the year each story was released and in a separate folder compiled together.
just tagging him since he wanted to check them out

Why is that one character on the right allowed to be called black pete?

>I'm pretty sure the hat colors change in every story.
It used to be like that back in the days before any canon was established. However, assigned hat colors have been canon for a while.

>ᛁn early comic books and shorts, the caps of Huey, Dewey, and Louie were colored randomly, depending on the whim of the colorist.
> It wasn't until the 1980s when it became established that Huey is dressed in red, Dewey in blue, and Louie in green. Disney's archivist Dave Smith, in "Disney A to Z," said, "Note that the brightest hue of the three is red (Huey), the color of water, dew, is blue (Dewey), and that leaves Louie, and leaves are green."
