I liked it, but what the hell was the point of it? What did it mean thematically?

I did like the farm scenes and Charles' seizures though

bump

it doesnt have to mean anything you fucking pleb. not all movies need to have a deep political message.

>but what the hell was the point of it? What did it mean thematically?

Family is the basis of a human being. Logan was too old, hundreds of years old. he had forgotten what it was like to be a family, and had become dehumanized.

Also, that a family doesnt mean your wife and child. It means those that love you, and stick with you.

Xavier was the only one who knew what family really meant, and he knew that Logan and himself were dying, so they had to save X-23 from becoming another Logan, even if it meant both of their lives. He wanted to give her a family.

Political? Sure it doesn't, and I probably shouldn't have brought it up.

It's real serious though so you can be damn sure there's some emotional message, whatever it is

>He wanted to give her a family.

Or reunite her with the only family she knew. I like rest of your point though

Why are they making this movie if it doesnt have a deeper meaning ?

Another thematic point was hope - Xavier and the boat, X23 and Eden.

Why are we still here?
Just to suffer?

I was surprised it ended before the loli got to eden but I liked that it did.

It was a character exploration you fucking lump.
The theme was learning to forgive yourself.

So, will x23 die like his father.

also
>cross to X at the ending
why

Because mutants werent a part of God's plan.

>weapon/project X - Wolverine
>X-23 - Laura

ITT:Movies women will never understand

Holy fuck. How dense is this board where an action movie that spells out the importance of hope and family is too intellectual for OP?

And especially he uses shit memes to prove how inept he is at understanding a basic plot theme. I bet OP is the type of person who watched 3-4 videos that broke down the ending of Interstellar.

>there are evil mutants that kills people
>there are good mutants that still kill people (like proff x and his seizures)
>even small children are deadly, it is like kids carrying guns
and this guy makes a virus or something that sterilize mutant. and people calls him bad gut

the theme was how much money can we make from one last hugh xman movie

It's about Logan coming to terms with his life at the end of it. Him killing his younger self? Him accepting the things he's done, and finally experiencing having a family?

>If I wanted to deliver a message, I'd write a letter
-Akira Kurosawa

do americans really expect every movie to be a formulaic moral fable?

ITT: Autism

I lowkey wanted to see Magneto desu

>and this guy makes a virus or something that sterilize mutant. and people calls him bad gut
the legitimate reasons to fear at least some mutants was NEVER adressed. E.g. what do you do against a teleporter? those could easily kidnap a president for example

>>Child soldiers are bad lmao
>>experimentation is bad lmao
>>even when you're old you don't give up cos the world has broken you down lmao

what's wrong with any of this you fucking autist?

Zander Rice did nothing wrong. He wasn't even that mad about Logan killing his father

So, I have a chance to see this OR see John Wick 2, thanks to a cheap ticket. Which one do I see?

Growing old, dealing with death etc

I loved them both, but they're really not comparable. If you want a character and story driven movie with some neat, well done but relatively low key action scenes then Logan. John Wick 2 is if you want a nigga shooting people and fighting people with just the right amount of cheese.

This is better acted, but JW is more entertaining

See this. John Wick two is a good action movie, but I honestly see this as one of the best of the year.

>I liked it, but what the hell was the point of it?

Everyone gets old and dies. It's also about making your death mean something.

Logan is about aging and mortality, you pleb. It's literally based on Old Man Logan.

Same.
>get to Eden with Charles and X23
>it is a secret base where mutants are hiding, led by Magneto
>"Charles, I told you people are shit but you trusted them. Look at us now."
>sad Charles
>base is attacked and both die

Neither.

>Corporations are inhuman and amoral.
>Family is important
>Having hope is essential for going on
>Welcome to Trump's republic of Hitlerstan

It worked because they kept it focused on the story and the characters. One of the weaknesses of X-Men movies has always been the large ensemble which has meant there hasn't been enough focus on the characters.

It was a story about a man realizing and coming to terms with having a daughter, and coming to terms with his old age.

This isn't the MCU. There doesn't have to be a hamfisted political message in everything.

To piss off all the Christians with evolution-themed mutants.

Then again x-24 and everyone else is kinda redundant with the metal and all

>that snot at the end
I thought kids couldn't act. I honestly impressed by Laura. She was even better when she [spoiler[starts talking[/spoiler]

Logan for sure.

>that sublte redpill about corn syrup
based mangold

For money

I keked so bad when she was like " yeah nigga I can speak I speak Spanish you dense mother fucker" great movie, Xavier was a little bitch tho

trips have spoken

I've heard that Logan is more violent than John Wick 2 - is that true?

oh no we have to cross the mexican boarder into the USA.

Woah, that's deep.

I guess so. John Wick 2 has lots of head shots. Logan has claws-to-head action and dismembered limbs and heads

It was more violent than all other xmen movies

Not by much, but it is.

youtu.be/TC9hxG_pVzM?t=2m29s

All right here's the answer, straight from the horse's mouth

First scene has limbs being severed and a guy getting stabbed up his chin with logan's claws choking on his blood

Fuck yes. Even the little girl alone slaughters about a dozen people with her metal claws.

Thanks Anons. I'm going to try and see both and hope that I can sneak into seeing John Wick 2.

>Let me drive

That was pretty great.

>ywn escort a cute loli across america
feels bad man

It's called. Entertainment

>marvel
>deep

It's a fucking super hero movie

Yeah, the experiments on children (and their termination) were not wrong at all.

>an institute that trains children to soldiers
>nigger kid still gets fat
how did he achieve that? steal others' food?

JW more entertaining

I dn m8. It's close.

They weren't training them to be soldiers, they were using them as guinea pigs on how to ultimately make stronger mutants like X-24, once they got the necessary data the kids were to be processed and killed.

Also, you seem really obsessed with the fat kid for some reason.

>you will never be berated in spanish by a cute mutant loli
why even fucking live

also i was hoping for at least one flashback scene just to know what really happened

Haven't seen John Wick 2, but Logan is stabby stabby and JW2 is shooty shooty.

neither will logan

she wasn't cute at all

you don't need to be /fit/ if you can shoot lighting from your fingertips, dummy

t. donald

They needed a fat kid to do the stunt work of falling down on his face. Normal kids might get hurt, a fat kid will just roll like the bottom of an "O".

I loved this movie, but all the scenes with the kids just irked me. The stupid CGI ice breath, the stupid flying pin needles, etc. It just reeked of Xmen 3. I was hoping this would've just been claws vs. guns the entire time, but they just had to have stupid superpowers. And I couldn't help but giggle every time that fat little nig was on screen, especially when he was running.

Other than that, solid 8/10 would watch again.

Reminder: Trump was signing an Executive Order that would help African-American communities here, but you were too busy criticizing Kelly Anne for sitting like that on the couch.

NOOO! NOOO! NOT THE GRASS! ANYTHING BUT THE GRASS!! AAAAAAAAAH!

>the stupid flying pin needles

it turned a guy into a bloody mist, you're a fag

But they were creating them to be weapons. It just so happened they were also researching X-24 and when they realized the children wouldn't make good solider they nixed the research. If they could have had both they would have. It's not like the kids were solely a means to get to X-24.

>everything has to have a message or meaning

U r gay lol

killing off the xmen franchise so marvel can buy it?

idk

would probably cost the studio a lot to get the past mutants back. Logan had a pretty tight budget.

It's FOX not Sony, they actually know how to make money from franchises rather than burn money for fun and then wonder what they did wrong

Technically wasn't it more about criticizing republicans for NOT being upset about Conway having her feet on the couch, considering how they flipped out about Obama having his feet up.

>4.4 billion over 10 movies
Yeah I don't think they're selling.

They can still spit out a couple more movies with the younger cast and keep riding the superhero train while it's still hot.

Next up is Mister Sinister for the X-men.

>he's apparently very old

>he just happens to die at the same time as xavier having a headache

shitty writing desu

There was a mention of a man named Donald by Rice, I didn't hear his talking so well, is he talking about Trump?

Does the movie has a post credit scene?

The Donald would have been dead at that point. Maybe you heard "Baron"
No

>What did it mean thematically?
Nothing, it's fucking crybait. It doesn't want you to make something or to make you think, it only wants you to post shit on Kikebook like "DURR LOGAN IS SO SAD I CRYED EVERYTIM D,:"
I can't believe Sup Forums fell for this crap, it’s really just another exercise in violence. Blood Father handled a similar father-daughter plot better, but this penchant for on-screen violence is part of contemporary culture’s ugliness.
Fuck this board, seriously.

It was a "pre movie" scene, because if it had played post-credits it would have clashed ridiculously in tone.

Why they didn't fly the kids to Canada?

>Fuck this board, seriously
>still comes back
>will never leave
Poor child.

it was to honor logan's scottish roots

People don't take kindly to mutants at this point in history, and I'm guessing the Weapon Plus program was watching the airports.

donald was the guy with the robot hand

Got me in tears, I interpreted it as the end of the old X-Men

Because she was an X-men fan.

Also
>X-23
>His
Regardless, most likely not. Laura only has the adamantium in her hands and feet due to the claws, so she can probably live forever. Or at least far longer than Logan did.

Nah, in the video they were cutting into her legs.

>modern kid doesn't understand what family is

whelp, the jews have won

They couldn't have been actively putting the adamantium into her while she was sitting there, they would have had to put her in the tank. That scene where they were cutting into her was reattaching her claws after pulling them out to coat them in adamantium.

You may be right, but keep in mind what they did to Logan was like 60 years earlier. So there could have been advancements in the procedure.

The movie had almost the same theme like the wrestler, trying to fit in a world where they don't need you, except this world also hates you

They showed them giving X-24 the procedure, and there was the implication that Lady Deathstrike got the same treatment as well 10ish years before 2029.

Eh. That would have felt pretty obvious and overdone at this point.

Underrated post
