muh son

the bear moved way too fast to be believable, but otherwise a decent film.

Muh Nootka

mmmmhmmm.......

So how did the actual dude survive? Like, what did he eat in winter in order to survive. Especially since he was crippled.

muh master plan

Bears are fast as fuck user.

The actual story didn't take place in winter.

not that fast. still, a good movie despite this unbelievable flaw.

Grizzly bears have been known to run up to 30 miles an hour.

0 to 30 in how long, user? let's get specific

>mmmnhmmnhm tree niggers

WDHMBT?

i ought to be on that boat

Bears can sprint unbelievably fast. Seriously, look it up sometime- if you were getting chased or charged by a grizzly, you would have zero chance of escape if you tried to run. They're apex predators for a reason.
is either trolling or genuinely retarded

what's unbelievable is the bear speed in this flick, but otherwise it was an okay story.

muh revenge

So speeds for most mammals are based on actual old tests performed over a quarter mile (402 m), and the speed is averaged over that time.

A grizzly bear was clocked at 30 mph (and a lot of literature suggests they can do more). To do 1/4 mile (402 m) at an average speed of 30 mph (48.28 kph), the bear would cover this distance in exactly 30 seconds.

By comparison, the fastest sprinter on record (Usain Bolt (ironically sounds like 'ursa' which is Latin for 'bear')) did 200 meters in a mere 23.4 mph. The bear would eat him with ease

Four legged animals, as a general rules, are fast as fuck compared to humans. Humans perform better over distances because of sweating (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persistence_hunting) but in a sprint the quadruped will win every time.

Please guys go on!

See

30 seconds to 30mph is way faster than the depicted bear in this flick. it got up to max speed in 3-4 seconds.

that is not believable. bears are hella fast but oh man not that fast.

It takes 4 seconds or less to get up to max speed. What makes you think bears are so uncoordinated that it would take longer? Once all four legs are moving that's all it needs

why didnt the flickmakers use a trained real bear instead of a cgi bear if real bears can really move that fast?

video proof of bear moving 30mph in 4 seconds from stationary position?

Bears cannot move that quickly. Other than that, nice movie.

Ok now this is advanced shitposting

I assume the director isn't familiar with the kinematics of a bear, still a wonderful piece.
