Did anyone have one as a pet? I was thinking of getting one. do they smell?

They themselves don't smell much (unlike ferrets for example). Their cages can smell, but you can just change out the bedding more frequently.
Source: My family had over 20 when I was growing up.

they are ok if you can resist the urge to eat them

Criceto

Marsvin

A guinea pig. Looks almost like the one I used to have. They are darn cute things as pets. SCREE wildly. We don't eat them here but they are herbivores so sadly but might be pretty tasty in other cultures.

Cobayo , my sister has one.

Nuggetier

>hui is good to eat. except the presentation.

Do people in your country have those as household pets? Or capybaras as pets?

I would get a capybara if they were legal.

>Do people in your country have those as household pets?
No that i've heard of.
>Or capybaras as pets?
Nope, maybe some rednecks have them but having a capybara as a a pet sounds weird as fuck.

Why would you even want a giant rat as a pet in the first place?
