Allright you autists, please help me with this. How realistic is it to get a job on a work&travel program in Japan without any/only minimum language knowledge? I want to go for a work&travel trip, but my buddy is pretty adamant about going to Japan, he learned the language for 2 years now at university. Me on the other hand cant speak any japanese at all, but I'd still go because I like the country. Is there any chance this could work?

>>他言語を習ってるのは日本語を全部覚えた意味がないよ。 I presume you were saying " The reason I am going to study another language is that to memorize all Japanese words is just nonsense for me.". For that meaning, you should say "他の言語を習ってるのは、日本語を全部覚える意味がないからだよ" The difference could surely seems small, but it looks quite awkward for native's eye. So then I recommend you to go on Japanese. It seems now you are doing pretty well on learning Japanese so why don't you polish it more until you reach stratosphere? Of course it's totally up to you though... すきにするのじぇ

Nope.I was trying to say that even though I'm learning another languages It doesn't mean that I'll stop learning japanese.
>work&travel program First thing is I haven't heard this word at all, if you mean some kind of system like "working holiday" in Australia, in which you can get temporary job during your staying abroad to earn little money, I also haven't heard such a system exist in this country. Your life would work if you can speak English in your posting level. But maybe your friend is not sufficiently proficient to earn enough money from the first day on arrival. How about getting any intern-ship in Japanese company? Or just come here with your friend there is a way.
>working holiday That should be the same thing yes.. Going to Japan without working a little would drain my money pretty fast, the goal is to stay abroad for up to 6 months. English is not a problem, I think we are both fluent in that. We will both have a bachelor + masters degree in engineering if that helps, I dont know if Japanese people care much about education.
Jackson Thomas
I get it...and most of(99.9%) Japanese would get it.. But still, you shall say 『他の言語を習っているのは、日本語を勉強し終わった"と言う事"ではない』 or say just same as another Jap poster said above.
and >>これで正しいかもしれませんか。 shall be 『これで正しい"ですか"』 or 『これで正しいか"な?"』
Any language is enough complicated to master I presume. Take it easy.

>both fluent >bachelor + masters degree in engineering Definitely yes. Just fill an application sheet of internship in any Japanese company. In your case, you can and shall choose the one which any German knows its name.

lol So many people have a bachelor + masters degree in engineering. However, not all of them cannot find a job in Japan. If you do not have Japanese knowledge, during a half year, it is difficult to live in Japan. The exception is ALT
