does anyone else think that harry enfield is really as washed up as washed up can ever possibly fucking get? beyond any of the expectations of his TV persona and his characters, like it's reached an absolute new level of washed up. i grew up watching harry enfield's television programme and harry enfield & friends, and even then the humour was pretty bottom of the barrel with some quality standout scenes here and there.
you can call it satire, but honest to god it just comes across to me as mocking people who are for whatever reason just more popular and funny than he is. all of his imitation sketches, especially the ones posted here, are just caricatures without any joke or substance. at least in H&P and harry & friends they had a joke or scene to go with their characters.
i don't know why exactly paul whitehouse stays with enfield, because the man's got incredible talent and proves it constantly and consistently in fast show, and he's always carried enfield's shows start to finish.
the best H&P had to offer out of their new series was definitely H&P season 2, which surpassed pretty much anything i can remember from the television programme and harry & friends. series 3 and 4 seem actually pathetic in virtually any sketch i see. real fucked off that i've lost the disc to H&P season 2, but i still have ruddy hell + seasons 3+4.
