Let's be real here: It'll suck won't it?
Twin Peaks Season 3
>show called twin peaks
>clearly only one peak in the background
It's going to feature Nadine and James, but not Truman, Josie (in a red room scene at least), or Catherine.
Make of that what you will.
Truman retired and is a bad actor. Josie should've come back but she's happy with her health coaching or whatever. Catherine is... dead.
I'm ok with this. You can't spend the entire series following the old cast of 50+ year olds anyway.
Are you kidding? It's going to be fucking fantastic.
I unironically believe that Lynch is going to subvert everything we've come to expect from the day's television television, just like he did with the original series.
The other one is behind you.
Piper Laurie is still alive so I'm not sure why we're not getting Catherine.
The road from the east to Twin Peaks as shown in the intro shows the two peaks
She's fucking old dude.
thought you mean Catherine Coulson. Piper is 85. let the woman retire!
Lynch said that Catherine won't return because he wants way less comedic elements in the new season
He didn't deserve it :(

>“I made it very clear to David and the team that I would be delighted to come back,” she said. “I had a fantastic time on the original and won lots of awards. I’m surprised and I have no idea why I haven’t been called back. I did send a note to David that I would be delighted to return, but I think most of the material that I was in on the original didn’t really involve the darker aspects of the show, and I can guess maybe that’s where David and Mark Frost are going, but I really don’t know. My character was more on the silly, comic, fun side.”
>Despite Josie Packard meeting her demise near the end of Peaks’ second season, it was confirmed that she wouldn’t be appearing in the revival either. (Hey, we never know what goes on in the Black Lodge, after all.) “She was not asked to return,” EW’s source said regarding Chen. “Lynch couldn’t find something for her or Piper Laurie that would make sense. They had conversations, but couldn’t find a way for her to return … she’s not upset about it. If she was involved, she would comment on it.”
>the original didn’t really involve the darker aspects of the show, and I can guess maybe that’s where David and Mark Frost are going, but I really don’t know. My character was more on the silly, comic, fun side.
Lynch didn't say anything about the new season losing comedy, she was just speculating
nobody forced him to deal with the mob
This unsettles me every time I watch it
Lads why was FWWM so disappointing? It's got really poor pacing and doesn't add much

I don't understand, why does the camera fuck up when Bowie walks in, and why does Coop get so freaked out?
>he wants way less comedic elements in the new season
Laura Dern called the new series "hilarious"
Annie not coming back is ridiculous.
FWWM is the best part of Twin Peaks imho
Heather Graham is a laughably bad actress, as soon as Lynch came back he took her out of the picture as well as all the other shitty soap elements that plagued the latter half of season 2
>as soon as Lynch came back he took her out of the picture
But that's blatantly false though? He made her central to Coop's storyline, and brought her back for the movie.
Most actors were shit in Twin Peaks, on purpose or otherwise, so bad acting is no excuse. Also Twin Peaks was always a soap opera, that's how Lynch wanted it to be, the issue was the sub-plots weren't interesting.
To be fair, after all these years Lynch is probably just going to go ahead and make Audrey Cooper's love interest.
>Twin Peaks was always a soap opera
S1 and S2 until the reveal had soap opera elements but Twin Peaks wasn't part of that genre until the hacky replacement writers turned them up to eleven
Lynch made the series specifically so that the murder mystery would be in the background, and the show would focus on the town residents.
At least that's what he always claimed, makes me wonder how he expected a show to work if they never made progress in the main mystery.
That's what I'm afraid of. It's fanservicey as all fuck. Whilst it would have been better if he ended up with Audrey as initially planned, the show (had) to move on from it. Throwing away Annie when she was a key part of what happened to Coop is stupid.
Salty Dwarf said Lynch murdered him between fuckings of his daughter. I'm inclined to believe.
It's incredibly disrespectful to Jack Nance - I wonder what made him say everything.
What's the point, she ain't hot anymore. Give him a young piece of ass - he deserves it after the shit he's gone through.
Because he had a dream where it happened. The Missing Pieces stuff has scenes with exhibition about how they use electricity to travel around, and pretty much live inside of electricity. At least thats what I took from it. The theatrical version cut a lot of that out but left the weird zooms on power poles and electrical appliances.
No one was more disrespectful to Jack Nance than he was himself.
Man being a dwarf must be hard
Mark Frost co-wrote the script and probably fucked it up like "The Secret History of Twin Peaks"
he co-wrote most of Twin Peaks and created the entire thing in tandem with Lynch. you make no sense.
the movie was better than the show
It will more than likely be horrible. But we can always hope that it'll be decent. There is practically a 0% chance that it's great
True but he's responsible for the shittier parts of it, especially the Windom Earle shitshow. FWWM proved that Lynch does Twin Peaks better on his own.
idk. FWWM fills in parts that didn't really need to be filled in and raises more questions that don't go anywhere.
Frost seems to tie things more concretely to an overarching lore. He's a more adept storyteller, rather than pure mood explorer.
It will be great. Why would Lynch bring it back if he didn't think it would be good. He probably knows it will be the last thing he ever makes (film or television) wise. I fully expect it to be great, and hope it goes for more of a FWWM tone.
Inb4 fags say Lynch lost it and Inland Empire sucked.
>new Donna will never look at you like this
just fuck my life up
Why the fuck didn't they recast her? She was the superior Donna anyway.
Lynch seems to get a lot of credit for the dark and weird side of Twin Peaks, while Frost seems to get a lot of credit for keeping the show more grounded than most of Lynch's other works. But I think people forget that, when Lynch actually wants to, he can do grounded stories as well as Inland Empire style mindfucks.
>raises more questions that don't go anywhere.
I am pretty sure Lynch was going to make like 2 or 3 more films set in Twin Peaks after FWWM but, people shit on it and it didn't do well at the box office I believe so it was scrapped.
I think FWWM is brilliant.
>James will never give you his trademark melancholy stare
Why even live
>not trusting in Lynch
the hype is unkillable
FWWM is good, but it's not what most people liked about the show. If the last half of season 2 was a lot of corny goofiness without the edge, FWWM was all edge and no corny goofiness. The combination of the two together is what made the show so appealing.
Also FWWM was missing a lot of people's favorite side characters. A part of that is because a lot of the cast were mad at Lynch for jumping ship halfway through season 2 and blamed him for the show getting cancelled.
>tfw you live in the snoqualmie area, where this was filmed
>If the last half of season 2 was a lot of corny goofiness without the edge, FWWM was all edge and no corny goofiness. The combination of the two together is what made the show so appealing.
I couldnt've put it better.
the first time I saw FWWM it just felt so oppressive and nihilistic (until the ending ofc). it didn't help that it's also really long and not entirely cohesive (the cold open before you get to Twin Peaks being the most obvious oddity).
I also wanted more of this guy. like, what the fuck even.
>but it's not what most people liked about the show
I definitely understand that, especially back in the day when most people who watched Twin Peaks hadn't seen anything from Lynch other than that.
I am just saying me personally I love Twin Peaks and Lynch when it is really dark and surreal so, I really loved FWWM.
who else excited for michael cera
>callback to a completely deleted scene
absolute madman.
In Lynch I trust, so ignore you I must.
>Let's be real here: It'll suck won't it?
No, it will be fantastic since this time around Frost and Lynch will be writing and directing all episodes instead of a handful.
I loved twin peaks but I'm pretty sure I've fallen asleep twice watching FWWM.i don't know where that puts me on the lynch kinometer
He's on the cast list for season 3
...
...
this desu senpai, there actually is a chance of it being even better than the original, since now they have absolute control and don't have to compromise, they can do whatever the fuck they want and i don't see Lynch loosing anything of his talent, i'd even say he got better with age
I'm trying not to have any expectations of it, I prefer to experience a piece of media as freshly as possible.
The way I feel is in many ways the show is Twin Peaks from an outsiders perspective (i.e. the viewer of Dale Cooper) and Fire Walk With Me is Twin Peaks from the perspective of Laura Palmer - the nightmares are everywhere and not just lurking underneath the surface.
