Do you guys ever think we'll regret wasting so much time on Sup Forums, videogames, or anime?

Do you guys ever think we'll regret wasting so much time on Sup Forums, videogames, or anime?

I feel like there's more to life than this lately. There's gotta be something more productive we can be doing.

I like playing videogames

Me too

Counter strike and Sup Forums is life.

If you spend all your time on here then yes you'll regret it.

You should just come here a few minutes a day or whatever to chill

I think the world will like me more if I wasn't that guy who wastes all of his time with that but I am not greedy person that want to be rich or other bullshit so I am happy playing video games and watching anime

I've wasted 9 years of my life doing exactly that. Good thing I'm not completely retarded and fixed my shit before I turned 21.

There is much more to do than simply this or a career.

>tfw turning 24 in two months and still a piece of shit

Is time wasted on reading a book?

You can still make it user, but not with >tfw

Only action

No because you learn something useful. I haven't learned anything here in years.

>tfw 21 and not turning anything anywhere

m8, i only really spennd maybe 2 hours max per day on this and video games, you gotta find other stuff to do

the easiest thing in the world is to find a nearby church and ask if they need any volunteer stuff done m8

That wouldn't really help me much. I want to build a meaningful career.

I live on a boat outside north carolina nigga every day is an adventure
[Hide text] of staring into nothing.

i dont play video games or watch anime. Sup Forums made me a better person. Sup Forums made me aware of other countries and their cultures, /fit/ helped me exercise and keep healthy, /his/ and Sup Forums helped me stay up to date on current events and history, /lit/ gave me great books to read to expand my mind. If you're an autistic loser, its your own fault, this site can actually really help improve your life.

You have to do something lad. You can't just plan and hope.

Don't get too invested in the modern world either. IMO it doesn't bring any happiness.

What am I suppose to do then. I want to be rich and successful.

then look at this list
forces.ca/en/jobexplorer/browsejobs-70
our military has a fuck ton of jobs available that will train you for free or on the job, most don't involve shooting or getting shot at
also, if you're interested in joining in a military capacity, literally just enroll in uni and you're immediately qualified for officer training

Look, normie.

I've tried that bullshit. I had my mom drive me a recruiter for the Forces 1 hr away where she treated me terribly and made a displeased face no matter what I asked. I did not feel welcome.

To a recruiter *

>tfw I probably couldn't get into the military because I'm a social autist with depression
Isn't the military Chad-Normieland?

Well go for it if that's what you want. Why though?

you don't even need to go to a recruiter, you can do it all online
also why do you add stuff like
>I had my mom drive me
it's not needed and makes you look more pathetic, is that what you're trying to do here?
mainstream military positions? yeah most likely
but a fuck ton of auxiliary positions that you would only do in a civilian capacity (cook, secretary, air traffic control, intelligence computer dweebs, etc etc) aren't necessarily normie at all
remember that a large portion of the employment with the forces is in a civilian capacity due to (at least) our base's civilian employment being nearly entirely in house

I was 17 or so when I went to the recruiter.

How the fuck does my mom driving me somewhere at 17 make me look pathetic? She didn't come with me she waited in the car... and if you mean why did I add that part I added it to put emphasis on how they wasted our time and gas for nothing. If that's the front face of the forces then that's just plain terrible.

What are your thoughts on reserves? I want to join a Reconnaissance Regiment.

>I was 17 or so when I went to the recruiter.
then that would be something to add to your text
most people assume the stories involve adults here for the most part so you would fit the Sup Forums autist parents-do-everything-for-me meme, but at 17 that's pretty normal
>What are your thoughts on reserves? I want to join a Reconnaissance Regiment.
reserves are pretty ok, the only way i found out about the ridiculous employment opportunities was through my friend who's in the reserves
for regular infantry at least, you will have ample opportunity to "work" there part time while going to school, and over summers full time
in a lot of the reserves it seems you can really pick when you work and what job you want if you're above private
and there's mass recruiting going on and a fuckton just went to the military's budget so there's plenty of stuff to do

Yeah I guess now is really the time to get going on it then I guess. Apparently many units only have about half the people they ideally want. (Depending on province)

How hard is basic training? I've been also strongly considering going to University - which reserves seems quite good for.

>Why though
He wants to brag to the normies who've shunned him his entire life, obviously. It's mostly social recluses who have power fantasies of this kind because they want to get back at the normies so bad.

Damn I didn't know we had skilled psychoanalysts on here

enroll in uni, apply for officer's training
will have to do some basic, which isn't really hard unless you're overweight, but still is tough so I'd recommend getting into better shape
other than that, pretty much every opportunity will be handed to you once you're in the reserves

You spend so much time on those things because you are too much a of a lonely loser to be able to do anything else in the first place. So you might regret it, but it's not like you ended up doing those things on accident

I regret the fact that I spent so many hours on video games to an extend. I think that some games that I played were nice, and some games that I really farmed were good for me too because they were intensive games where I was trying really hard to improve. Actually in High school gaming was one of the most intensive activity I was doing so that was great. But I regret to have spent so many during my first bachelor on videogames 4k hours on dota and a few hundred hours on hs + lots of hours spent on stream. I'm 22 now, since last year my game consumption greatly reduced, these weeks I really don't play a lot, I just did two game it was the first in a week and it felt awefull I didn't enjoy it. Concerning anime I don't regret at all because I didn't watch that much anime and almost all the ones I watched were really good. For Sup Forums I don't go there for months sometimes so no It really doesn't take much time and sometimes it's interesting.
I don't want to spend more time on video games anymore, maybe sometimes a few hours during the week, but not as much as I used to, I want to believe that this is behind me, I have so much things to study these days anyway. Also I don't feel close to the geek/gaming culture anymore like I used to do years ago. Video games and gaming culture went downhill for some years already I think most people would agree.

Not really sure if I'd want to join the military as a longterm thing. I'm going to look into how long of a commitment it is.

What about people that build a good career or start a business as adults? Or people who used to be drug addicts or convicted criminals or whatever? Is it really ever too late to start doing something?

4 years is generally the lowest contract I'd say, outside of working under private contractors
maybe some of the more civilian positions may have shorter contracts

What the heck is a civilian position

Some considerations on what might be useful

>lurking a thread isn't the same as posting on a thread. You easily forget about the thread if you're just lurking, so if you really have to do something important you just close the web browser and do it. But when you post on a thread you unconsciously keep it on your mind because someone can reply to your posts at any time up to the moment the thread gets archived or something

>read at least one book per week. It will give you a genuine sense of achievement you can count on with a little effort

>learn a skill or a trade that can provide you with revenue. When you make that your income source then you're not wasting your time financially

>you'll never leave this website, because it makes you feel anxious enough for you to come back every now and then thinking that you will have a great time and learn something interesting, which you mostly don't, but you always try it anyways. It's like a slot machine. Honestly, you probably end up learning anything that's cool learning in the first 3 months (things like flags and cultural differences etc), but you can use it for just a few minutes every once in a while and it won't make you any harm

>if you want to quit and turn your life around, quit using the internet as a whole for an entire month. Fill in the void left by its usage with productive things and habits instead and make that your new routine. When you go back to browsing the web you'll stop wasting so much time on it as you did before you did that

Some militaries will outsource jobs to civis. Like nurses, plumbers,IT,etc. They do this because it's cheaper in some instances or they cannot fill the quota.

When I was in the marines they couldn't find enough people to be nurses in the navy to support bases so they hired some civies to do it.

This is good advice mostly, thank you for this post.

a lot of the on-base positions like dentistry, medicine, mechanic, cook, musician, personnel selection, etc.
not officially "civilian" but the type of job where you would rarely have to even hold a gun

I enjoy it. Video games make me happy. Some people hike the mountains in silence, others go out partying and drinking, some take artistic photographs of their toilets after use.

I just fuckin play video games man it's fun. Get mad.

Okay when did you join and what unit are you in? How long did the whole process take? What are the interviews like?

Why would I get mad? I don't give a shit what you do, I'm talking about myself and people who feel a similar way.

I haven't joined m8, a couple of friends have though
I don't know the process of joining or anything like that but im certain that the website will explain everything
and remember that they're desperate for personnel so it's unlikely that they'll reject you in the first place

Oh OK thanks. Was talking to a Canadian and an Australian on other board who were also saying it's easy to join and they just meme about it being "very selective and grueling"

>Why would I get mad? I don't give a shit what you do, I'm talking about myself
Not him but I think we already found your problem.

I have felt that way for a while and basically regretted myself to the other side. I'm passed the point of no return and no longer give a damn.

yeah, canadian infantry privates only need grade 10 to apply ffs, and the hardest part for most positions is basic, which is tough but passable unless you're severely out of shape

What is the problem then ? Everytime someone brings up the fact that they're tiredof wasting time and then someone always come in with the "Time isn't wasted if you enjoyed it :) How is spending excess time on Sup Forums any different from Facebook or TV like normies do?".

How old are you then? 50, maybe 60 years old? Then yeah it's too late to change anything.

You are really too hung about what you should be doing instead of doing what you want to do.

You should had studied in school as a kid, learned an instrument, invested in bitcoin to become rich, gone to college to be a doctor and have a beautiful wife with six kids and a house by now.

But guess what, you don't. So now the ''you shoulda'' shit is out, do what pleases you but I would just recommend at least trying something like art or 3D modeling or learning a trade for a coupel months to see if you like it.

if you are looking for a career stop whatever you are doing and go to college. I've heard people make daring risks and take out students loan to live off while they went to law school, etc and came out ok. In fact my teacher did that and never looked back(although if you don't have to do it, don't)

You are not going to find some magical phrase or sentence here to get you off your own ass, you will keep coming here till you get bored of your own procrastination and finally do something. But by then you might be too late.

So stop right now and watch a video youtube.com/watch?v=Q9NqGd7464U
Guess what, you wasted 2 minutes watching this video and already learned more than you did coming into this thread.
In fact just looking at this picture makes you slightly more educated than you came in this thread.

I am on khanacademy in other tab trying to learn algebra to alleviate my brainletism, so it's not like I'm not doing anything at all.

You're right though I definitely do a lot more thinking than doing.

Well good what Algebra are you doing now?

Algebra II, trying to learn about functions and complex numbers right now

Do you guys ever regret putting a fucking leaf on your flag?

I also have the impression that most people don't leave the website because they somewhat feel like they're members of a club, a fraternity, or something
Most people can always have original ideas and that sort of thing, but there's a general consensus on certain topics that are quite recurrent on the boards, there are memes that can only be understood by its users, and etc. So people don't feel so tempted to leave when they realize that most people that don't browse the website just don't get your jokes, and could even ostracize you if you happent to bring up some polemic topics that are discussed so often on this website

I used to use it a lot when abroad, but nowadays I kind of stopped using it so often

If you really want to quit and do something else with your life because you feel sad about wasting your time, I hope you succeed user. But sometimes it's just a matter of behavior, or routine. You can easily tell that most people that browse all day are people that don't have a routine, don't wake up everyday at the same time, don't exercise, don't set goals in their lives. If that's what you're missing, then it's worth quitting for a while. If you're already doing that and just can't quit, then I think you're really fighting an addiction at a psychological level

Do you ever regret putting a cuck stamp on your flag?

Yes that makes sense thank you. I remember times when I felt no need to come to Sup Forums because I was happy and productive. Unfortunately that was only a contract job and it had ended which brought me back here.

I regret every day that I'm still alive, regardless of what I do.

Can't you just commit suicide though? Seems very easy to fix that problem, do you have access to firearms? That has a high chance of fatality I believe.

I like video games, I hate anime, I don't spend too much time on Sup Forums.

Someone should make an edit of this with pic related

Same.

I detached myself from social media cold turkey because I can live without it.
In the end, I spent even more time here which is even worse in every aspect.

This is social media but for autists

I'm still a normal functioning human being at least but """socializing""" with unnamed virgins in a Cambodian spice making image board is something I should really let go soon.

yes

Sounds like you're an entirely fucked up person, in almost every aspect possible. The worst part is you honestly aren't aware of it.

stop projecting bruce, if you only find shit here, its because you are shit
