Nah the movie was fine, it's just hurt because its legacy was cheap looking shitty movies shot in front of a green screen, and the speed up/slow down ramping of action scenes for the next 10 years.

No I'm saying the movie is fine as a standalone thing, but that it had so many people biting on its style that it waters it down in hindsight.
Which is why I also referenced bullet time in the matrix. When it came out it literally blew people's minds in the theater. Five years later and it was put in every fucking action movie regardless of if it made any goddamned sense.

There was actually a lot of controversy around it when it got released, I think it got banned in Iran or something.
