It was an app on Chrome called the Coincidence Detector. What it did was put (((echos))) around jewish names.
People started to realize all these "coincidences" that the never Trump guys were pretty much all jewish, long with open border people, and gun grabbers.
I think Breitbart even had an article about it. Anyways the jews in the media freaked the out and had Chrome pull the app.
Also, when real Jews on twitter found out they put brackets around their own name to protest/reclaim it or whatever, and idk probably some random lefties did as well

I tried to make once myself to revive the old Sup Forums but only a few people posted on it and it died in obscurity.
TL;DR: Kek is an example of neo/pol/. It's a fun memetic creation, but shows how Sup Forums has changed recently from discussion-oriented to meme-oriented.
