WE'RE IN THE EURO FINALS GUYS
PORTUGAL! PORTUGAL! PORTUGAL!

I love these statistic charts. For so long the world has been concerned about providing a comfortable living and economists have pushed for all sorts of projects that could bolster the average man's existence. The thing is, we've reached a plateau in developed countries where the concern isn't really growth, but maintaining the plateau. It's interesting because we're now seeing the limits of economic policy that were important for so many years, but ultimately human comfort has a limit. Once needs are met and wants are answered by endless toys, what can economic policy do? It's done it's job. But because economic policy is attempting to answer questions outside it's sphere(moral, national, geopolitical, racial), we're seeing a retreat of comfort in developed nations. This chart actually shows the problem because the countries with high purchasing power are the ones experiencing the most social unrest. It's as mark twain said: lies, damned lies and statistics.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lies,_damned_lies,_and_statistics

The map shows that money isn't everything.

Failed state

I bet this is pre-brexit too

Yeah, you can cheer yourself up with some shopping after being raped by mud people. Totally worth it.

I blame Barroso and Socrates. They stole all the shekels.

>This chart actually shows the problem because the countries with high purchasing power are the ones experiencing the most social unrest.
Denmark, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Germany are the most stable and calmest countries in Europe if not the world.

...

>tfw almost spain

The fuck is wrong with you? How have we "reached a plateau"? What the fuck would make you think this? People never run out of needs and wants. There is *always* a demand for a better life. People want the same shit they have now, but cheaper and better. Nothing about this has changed recently. The economy has just slowed down and people have gotten cranky about it.

again in top 5

Bet you think your home country Syria isn't a failed state either, Ahmed.

We are way too small.

nice map

It's a good indicator usually.

I'll give you the first 3 but not the last one. Besides I didn't say HIGHEST but high, also denmark, luxembourg and swiss land have had policies to restrict migrants. Germany keeps inviting them to "increase worker population" in the mistaken belief that more people and immigration is always good. It's an economic policy taken to extremes. On the other hand, countries like poland have half the purchasing power compared to switzerland but are still very safe. Sweden has a high PP number now but is also projected to become a third world nation if their policies continue. Of course sweden isn't simply applying economic policies but social ones as well and they're failing miserably. Then there's little estonia which sits with a mediocre score on this map but compares quite favorably to switzerland. Swiss are actually seeing an increase in crime the last 3 years.

numbeo.com/crime/compare_countries_result.jsp?country1=Estonia&country2=Switzerland

I'm saying that many of the horrendous economic problems of the past were solved through capital means and that while people strive for a better life, fighting over resources isn't necessary right now.

Please switch places with me. You get to enjoy a lovely, sunny country without any social tensions. We're literally Balkan tier poor, but that doesn't matter, as we all know. I'll sacrifice my perfect life for your sake, and live the rest of my days in your awful rich countries.

nothing to do with marshall plan, communism and access to the free market, right ? :^)

>I'm saying that many of the horrendous economic problems of the past were solved through capital means and that while people strive for a better life, fighting over resources isn't necessary right now.
And I'm saying the claim the we have "reached a plateau" is utterly retarded.

>denmark, luxembourg and swiss land have had policies to restrict migrants.

Ok... all have received more "refugees" on a per capita basis in the last years compared to Germany.

So what the fuck?

Its not that, I just couldn't handle the lack of freedom and right to deny the holocaust

America here I come!

>poorer than greece and poland
You're a disgrace poortugal, you do not deserve to be called iberian anymore.
you're literally untermensch tier, you should've accepted our rule and thrived under it

Can't I instead switch with another human being?

Dont believe this bullshit. CDU with Merkel are on a record low because of the migrants. Nobody, not even People of the Neomarxist Linke want more migrants.

That map must be bullshit, no way Finland is doing better than Norway, Sweden, Ireland or UK.

>Sup Forums's favorite Hungary has literally the lowest purchasing power in the whole EU

Your unemployment is actually higher than ours.

We could just have the wealth without the kebab and (sand)niggers though, which would be infinitely better.

Krauts are the most useless of people in the entire world

Tell me about the Byzantine Empire again, Georgios.

Holy shit, Ukraine is worse than Hueland.

Pic related.

IDK anything about the non-country luxembourg but I know denmark limited the amount of money migrants could receive and switzerland is banning things like minarets and burqas. Both are openly hostile to the muslim hordes, however tame that hostility appears right now. I'm pretty sure muslims are afraid of swiss too since they KNOW every swiss man is armed and trained.

>Pic related.
What is this meant to prove? GDP steadily growing in all developed countries and more so in China?

this article is from august 2015, the peak of the state and media propagated "Willkommenskultur" (~welcoming culture).
the sentiments changed drastically since then.

Also stop pushing the divide and conquer narrative, we have a common enemy to fight.

It's about countries seeing marginal returns because the low hanging fruit was picked already. It's showing that capitalism works, it's doing it's job, but because governments endlessly push for "muh growth" they'll fuck over everything for that 1 economic indicator.

Yeah, I would love to see your score with Russia attacking your borders. Their very presence is a miracle.

The Holy Roman Empire was never conquered by Turks, though.

>It's about countries seeing marginal returns because the low hanging fruit was picked already.
Returns have been """""marginal""""" since WW2. Life has gotten noticeably better for everyone since then.

>but because governments endlessly push for "muh growth" they'll fuck over everything for that 1 economic indicator.
That makes no sense at all. 2% growth in GDP per year is very maintainable by any well run country. Why would it fuck anything over? And why did you claim we've reached a plateau?

Is that before or after your 40% payrol tax?

Maintainable if you keep ratcheting up debt lol.

Neither was byzantium
It was betrayed by retarded western catholics that couldn't even crusade

Not at all. Debt is a completely different issue. Productivity gains in major economies every year are very real and noticeable. Debt is just a problem created by retarded central banks.

Actually, the Turks knew what a cannon was while the Byzantines placed their faith in Constantinople's double medieval wall.

WE

>Debt is just a problem created by retarded central banks.

Mhhhhhh

Yes. If it weren't for all the retarded money printing and interest rate controls debt would not be anything like the issue is today. Everything was just fine when the world rn off the gold standard in the 20's. It was the period of highest global economic growth in fact that we have not matched today due to central banks trying to "stimulate" the economy and start currency wars with one another.

>Lelgium

ha ha no joke. with nothing to do the US has done awful things. the best course of action now is to let a free market lower our currency value, encourage work/production growth, improve public safety and trade with other nations to bring bake real value money like gold a silver. I'm not saying cause unrest just lower the value of comment living so that we close the gap between rich and poor so everyone can own a house and car. it a hard concept to sell but rich nations like Germany have proven that all that free time and over valued currency result in very pore and very rich class system that's blind the government into only working for the rich and boom a bunch of rap sand niggers are brought in to produce good for even cheaper then before thus unsettling the population and causing unrest increasing the chance for a civil war or french style beheading riots. the US politics right now are a reflection of this very situation. the poor are out of work or are payed far to low and the rich are tying to bring in even cheaper labor to replace the native population. all the people suffering from this are at each others throats and being attacked buy the even dumber cheaper immigration population. it's clear whats happening but the solution my not be easy with resistance on all sides due to the fact that it will take time and move the market to a very uncomfortable place for half generation or two.

>Poland trying to bantz at Germany about economic matters

That also has to do a lot with ageing/sinking populations and the growth of China.

Not every desire is satisfied yet, countless people wish for better clothes or more living space, even in developed countries. The problem here is that the richest 5-10% are the only ones experiencing significant income improvement, and THEY actually satisfied all their desires by now.

>Yes. If it weren't for all the retarded money printing and interest rate controls debt would not be anything like the issue is today.

Well, that's how compound interests work.
You can debate about interests rates being too high or whatever, but people (and states) have signed up for that shit. There is no jewish conspiracy going on here, it's just jews in plain sight.
Moral of the story, don't rack up debt unless it's absolutely necessary.

FUGG XD

>Local purchasing power
What does this even mean?

>but people (and states) have signed up for that shit
I never asked for this and my nations elected where just handed the debt from a generation ago. we should just declare bankruptcy and close the borders in tell things stabilize. let the jews get there gold some where else the US can tell the bank to fuck right off.

>Crime not in Russia

>Well, that's how compound interests work.
What has that got to do with anything I said?

>Moral of the story, don't rack up debt unless it's absolutely necessary.
When central banks fuck with interest rates like they do now, you have no choice. If interest rates are artificially low then businesses you compete with can borrow money they can't afford to undercut you. You can either choose to go out of business or also borrow more money than you can afford. This is a large component of the mortgage debt crisis and why it created such widespread contagion. People and businesses had been borrowing more than they could afford to pay back in a way that would be impossible if interest rates had been set by the free market. But because interest rates were artificially low, it was worth the risk to a lot of people to just lend out money to risky borrowers. Especially considering putting that money in a bank and receiving normal interest rates would have been unrewarding because of the low interest rates. This is how the central banks fuck everything up.

>Finland in top 3 of every chart, list and survey
How do we keep getting away with it?

Thats when you can afford something with a regular job.

Russia would not know.

superior asian genes

This. Although I thought that Ireland would be on par with Estonia.

>I never asked for this and my nations elected where just handed the debt from a generation ago.

I'm in the same boat. Thank the boomers.

>we should just declare bankruptcy and close the borders in tell things stabilize. let the jews get there gold some where else the US can tell the bank to fuck right off.

Well the system can't function like this for much longer. How it's going to collapse is anybody's guess.

I'm skeptical, whenever I see this map posted it's always by a German because of course it makes everyone else look bad, but purchasing power is not everything.

I have lived two years in Belgium, 13 in Luxembourg and three in the UK where I finished my masters and while my family made good money and could certainly buy things and have some money left for emergencies, we never were really that happy living abroad. Maybe it's because I wasn't a native to those countries and never felt really at ease but their way of life is pretty stressful, especially in Luxembourg. I couldn't take the melting pot that was going on in the City anymore. Maybe it's why for summer or winter vacation no Luxembourger would stay in his country, same seems to be true for Germany although they do have more culture.

I have never been more happy than when I came back here, it felt like I had wings. Sure I'm not swimming in money, taxes are high, everything seems expensive and the whole bureaucracy machine here is moronic compared to other countries but I still have decent healthcare, a car, a TV, places to visit, festivals to go, weather to enjoy, great food to eat. I'd want to be nowhere else.

g8 post, m8.

afaik portuguese are still amongst the unhappiest people in the world. never understood why - they have enough to be called first world and natural beauty brits and germs can only dream about.

How would you feel living next to a nation that beat you at everything you can take pride in? frustrated I imagine. Then add that we are whiter than them and that's part of the reason we achieved more
