Why is this the only division in the NFL, outside of a few minor exceptions, where the rivalries aren’t predicated on whoever is good at the time or everyone just hating 1 team because they bootyblast their division every year?
AFC and NFC West fans especially are the worst offenders at hyping up their shit flavor of the month rivalries every year.
Justin Jackson
All NFL rivalries are just memes. The players the interchangeable and the franchise can change location at a moment's notice. It's about as meaningful as going to war for your favorite fast food chain.
Nolan Gutierrez
Unironically the most fun division in the league. Division games are usually the best kind of shitshow, the dislike between fanbases is fairly authentic, and the teams are usually pretty close to each other (it's often either the best division in the league, or the worst).

The NFC South is like this
Andrew Howard
Proximity, longevity (especially in the Eagles/Giants case), quite frequently the teams find themselves relevant at the same time, so a lot of meaningful games. Then you have the Cowboys, who declared themselves America's Team, and if you're a fan of any team not the Cowboys, you probably hate them, so crank that up to 11 if you're an Eagles, Giants, or Redskins fan. Basically, there are many reasons for them to hate each other, regardless of the year
Nathaniel Morgan
I would punch someone for insulting Whataburger
Michael Williams
The NFC South and NFC North have pretty good rivalries tbqh.
Every other division has at best 1-2 good rivalries though. It's a joke.
Nathan Lewis
3 major NE markets and the most popular team from another major market in Texas

Five Guys is better.
Robert Smith
plus in the 80's and 90's the games had huge playoff implications , though having the cards in the division for 2 wins every year was nice . Hahaha fuck you Philly for still not having an Owl.
Thomas Roberts
The Rams/Niners Rivalry was THE only REAL rivalry of the NFC West until They fucked that all up by moving the Rams to STL. Cant expect an expansion franchise from the 70s to be able to form anything with anyone when the NFC West traded teams around like musical chairs back in the 70s & 80's. SF/SEA was brewing in the 2010's with the Rams gone and Wilson v Kaepernick & Carroll v Harbaugh but the Niners fucked it all up and now the Rams have moved back to where they belong and both teams look to be on the rise in the coming years
Logan Walker
Because they can't into college football which is where regional rivalries are supposed to be.
Parker Murphy
Because the NFCE is one of the elder-god tier conferences with a ton of history and crazy moments that will always be remembered. Not to mention it's been consistently competitive for years.
Hudson Fisher
Unironically my favorite reaction
Ian Flores
the only thing I miss from Texas
Grayson Allen
because we all fucking hate each other
fuck you eagles, enjoy your season being over. enjoy still having no rings
fuck you giants, i hope you enjoyed your niggers tanking your entire season and your quarterback being an autistic sperg that can only do well against one team
fuck you cowcucks, i hope you enjoyed getting dicked down by the NFL for beating women you fucking niggers, did you like fighting the suspension during pointless games only to miss the playoffs when your one trick wonder served the suspension during critical games? fuck you jerry dak fumblescott is a bust
Lincoln Mitchell
long history of playing each other legitimate bad feelings between teams (eagles targeting cowboys, cowboys vs redskins when it came to the cowboys becoming a team, etc.) markets are close to each other for the most part, besides dallas teams are generally competitive. i feel like it's rare nowdays for there to just be a dominant team year-over-year
etc
Brayden Butler
AFC West teams traditionally always hate each other, no matter who is doing good. No one in the division likes the raiders either.
Sebastian Smith
The fanbases of all four teams are insane. Eagles and Redskins fans in particular are batshit, and there are so many bandwagon Cowboys fans that a good portion of them are also nuts.
Brody Mitchell
Could you imagine really being this dumb?
Jaxson Cooper
this
Nathaniel Jones
Redskins fans aren't insane, you're just a pillock with no sense of class or intellect. Kill yourself fucking >gnats fan
Hunter Johnson
hows it like being the embarrassment of the division you fucking new york kike
Jaxson Torres
the afc west has been goin' at it long before you were a twinkle in your faggot father's nuts, kid.
Luis Sanchez
Food analogy aside he's not wrong. A franchise based system is about as plastic as it can get.
Jace Bailey
fuck off
Jason Brown
AFCE rivalries are utterly one-way but holy shit do Jets/Fins/Cakes fans truly despise the Pats. Nothing but raw, untempered hate.
Chase Miller

Mason Kelly
everyone likes laughing at the cowshits
Chase Nelson
Everyone in the NFL hates the Pats.
Jonathan Ross
Only the NFC North has this going for them too
Lincoln Baker
The NFCE has 12 superbowls between them. None of which belong to the current #1 Eagles, who were #4 last year
It's the most unpredictable division in football with some of the best historic rivalries. Albeit, not as relevant today, but longtime fans know it.
