The Orthodox Church made a statement on immigration
26th of June, 2016
On immigration >Such an important aspect of modern life like mass migration is not left unattended. Unlike the Catholic approach that unduly favors migrants, particularly in Europe, the Orthodox notices the negative nature of the process, as well as the fact that it leads to confrontation of different identities and value systems. In addition, the Orthodox Church propose to look at the roots of this phenomenon. The reason for the migration is the liberal, hedonistic ideology bleeding the peoples of Europe and the interests of the capitalist elite, who need a cheap and disenfranchised workforce:
>Attempts by indigenous people of the rich countries to stop the migration flow are futile, because come in conflict with greed of their own elites who are interested in the low-wage workforce.
Look, the pagans don't want other pagans on their turf.

never. you guys are less than 2% of the population. even the jehova's witnesses are more followed than you.
people mostly follow the one true church, the Roman Catholic church, not some cult that branched off in 1054

A Romanian monk priest had to cover for my priest (my parish is Greek) last Sunday, he was based.
Chase Lewis
Romanian Orthodox are ultra based. One of the older Romanian women at my parish names the Jew all the time and tells everyone how yoy can't trust them.
Matthew Johnson
It's not about numbers its about autonomy. Most of the money we give our archdiocese goes overseas and most of the money Constantinople gets comes from the US. If we had that money for ourselves we would be in a much better position to grow in the US.
Brayden Campbell
Kinda makes me want to convert desu senpai
Matthew Torres
I don't get the animosity between you guys.
From what I can tell your theology is basically the same. Where the Orthodox are lighter on the dogma and are not currently infiltrated by commies and faggots.
Care to explain?
Joseph Turner
if Islam suddenly disappeared, Orthodox Christians would be the next worst thing
Caleb Bell
All of the OCA money stays here, and I think only 10% of the money that goes to the archdiocese goes overseas, if that.

Catholics sacked Constantinople in the 4th crusade after the Greeks massacred a bunch of Venetian merchants and both sides did some really bad things to each other in WW2. Also the Romans are considered to be heretics by the Orthodox.
>The term ‘Roman Catholic’ refers to the heresy formed around the person of the Pope of Rome (who broke away from the Orthodox Church in 1054 A.D.), which strives to subject the world to the incontrovertible doctrinal and decretal authority of this man, declared to be the “substitute [vicari] of the Son of God”, “Christ on earth”, etc. This is the fundamental and only truly unchanging doctrinal aspect of this sect and its essence; all other characteristics may be changed or ‘developed’ in new directions, of which history already records many examples.
>In addition to the dogma of the Pope, the Roman Catholic heresy currently holds the heresies of the Dual Causation of the Holy Spirit, God as a Tripartite Energy (with Created Grace being a further heretical consequence), Purgatory and the Papal Treasury of Merits, Development of Dogma, the Divine Inspiration and Salvific Nature of all Religions (a heresy stemming from the 20th-century Freemasonic takeover of the Vatican), the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, the Sacramentalogy of Opere Operato, etc., as well as the canonical violations of claiming jurisdiction for the Pope in all dioceses, adding to the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed, Rejection of Married Priests, Mutation or Mutilation of the Mysteries of Holy Baptism, Chrismation, Confession, and Lord’s Divine Liturgy and Eucharist (unleavened wafers, removal of the invocation of the Holy Spirit, etc.), and the papal decrees ordering or sanctioning the robbery, torture, murder, enslavement, and other forms of inhuman maltreatment of insubordinate or non-Roman Catholic persons.
Wyatt Turner
That's because the OCA was given autonomy by Russia(without permission from Constantinople). They are still not an autocephalous Church though that's why there is no American Patriarch.
Dominic Roberts
Also, Vatican II created an enormous chasm between Latin and Orthodox theology, and it can't possibly be glossed over.
Carter Scott
I wish I were orthodox instead of being part of the cucked catholic church. But I'm polish, and that's how it goes.
Nolan Jenkins
Russia doesn't need Constantinople's permission.
They are recognized as autocephalous by Russia, just not by Constantinople or most churches. The reason for this is because if Constantinople recognized them, then that would mean the OCA had total jurisdiction over the U.S., which the Ecumenical Patriarch doesn't want.
Logan Martin
This is the 5th thread I've seen on this. Pretty much the same OP too. What gives?

>Pope of Rome (who broke away from the Orthodox Church stopped reading here. the Roman Catholic church was formed by the first pope, St. Peter. The orthodox split from the Roman Catholics, not the other way around.

I think a Polish Orthodox Church will be established when the Vatican starts promulgating a blessing for same-sex unions.

Peter only considered himself a regular bishop (1 Peter 5:1), not some special higher office.
He was the rock, sure, because of his vital role in founding the Church, but the rock is not some office passed on, Peter's chair isn't the rock, Peter's person is. The current Pope had no role in founding the Church, and Latin Apostates have no business claiming their Church is a continuation of the one Peter was in, Peter would be horrified by the Catholic idea that the Pope is Caesar.
Parker Flores
>The orthodox split from the Roman Catholics, not the other way around
It was the Romans who placed a bull of excommunication in Constantinople. Also reminder that St. Peter was the bishop of Antioch before Rome.

We are called Orthodox for a reason you fucking heretics. It was primus inter pares ..

The Orthodox Church is the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church founded in 33AD. The Romans were a part of it for a thousand years until they got too full of themselves and split from the other 4 Patriarchs and started changing doctrine like the Nicene Creed and celibate priests. They've drifted even further away since then especially after Vatican 2 whereas the Orthodox Church hasn't had a great ecumenical council since 787.
Mason Cruz
We also still actually prohibit usury
>Not only in Psalm 15:5 is this teaching found. It is a fundamental principle throughout the Word of God. In Exodus (22:25), Leviticus (25:37), and Deuteronomy (23:19) the charging of interest on loans is forbidden. Prophets like Ezekiel (18:13, 22:12) thundered against usury. Charging interest is clearly and strictly forbidden by God. holytrinity-lansing.org/index.php/news/102/109/The-Sin-We-Stopped-Feeling-Sorry-For/d,betterDetails.htm
>Business expectations in lending, often ghostly becomes more profitable than the production of tangible goods. In this regard, it must be remembered about the moral ambiguity of the situation, when money is "make" new money without the application of human labor. Declaring credit sphere to be the main engine of the economy, its predominance over the real economic sector comes into conflict with the moral principles, reveled by God condemning usury. pravoslavie.ru/english/93828.htm
>Debt is usury and usury is enslavement, and enslavement is always a source of evil. Therefore, debt is always to be avoided as far as possible; at best it can only be a temporary necessary evil. Usury was and is forbidden by the Church. Catholicism, which for many centuries kept much of the heritage of the Church from the first millennium, forbade usury until the late 18th century.
>Dmitri Lubomudrov, the Orthodox Church’s legal adviser told the media at that time, “We realized we couldn’t stay dependent on the Western financial system, but must develop our own. As with the Islamic system, the Orthodox one will be based not just on legislation, but on Orthodox morality as well, and will be an invitation to businessmen seeking security at a time of crisis.” Among its features would be interest-free credit issuance and prohibition of investment in gambling casinos or such activities going against Church moral values.
Ok guys, don't fuck with muslims, or they will terror you. But they are fine.
Dominic James
>it didn't hold anymore authority than the Pope of Alexandria lol what?
>be orthodox church >make cheap copy of catholic church in 1054 >try to make your own pope to establish credibility yeah, no kidding they have no credibility. it's because the orthodox church had no legitimacy

Born and raised Catholic too. I question the teachings somewhat after looking into Orthodoxy.. but regardless I still believe God will judge us on an individual basis.

The day after the Catholic Pope said the Church must apologize to gays, the Orthodox Church in America made this statement:
>The statement outlines the Orthodox Church's "sincerely held religious belief" that marriage is "a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman," and therefore any sexual relations outside of natural marriage "is immoral, and therefore sin."
>The encyclical continues, "We believe that God created the human race, male and female, and that all conduct with the intent to adopt a gender other than one’s birth gender is immoral and therefore sin
>Even more explicitly, the document states, "Marriage can only be between two people whose birth sex is male and female." The bishops cite the ancient Orthodox marriage service to show the prayers of the church reveal "In the beginning, Thou didst make them male and female."
So Muslims are just a mean comment away from blowing themselves up?

Will you faggots just suck each other's dicks already and make up. Christianity is dying and the Western world, and along with it all of Western culture will decline. We are at serious risk of being taken over by a Marxist-Islamic faction and you two are still arguing over who is the bigger Christcuck.
Bentley Stewart
We're developed Western Rite too for evangelism, it's based on Medieval Western worship
Vatican II makes reconciliation impossible, unfortunately. It's too heretical.
Samuel Sullivan
And think about this, "making up" for the Catholics means us submitting to their Pope, do you think giving Pope Francis authority over the Orthodox Church is going to save Western civilization? No
I tell you what will help, though, is Westerners getting a mass Orthodox movement going. We already got something like that with the Antiochians, who have a ton of Western Rite missions, and are now 70% converts in the U.S.
Jacob Jackson
>be me >obviously a Catholic italian
I don't know, man. I not against ALL immigration, I'm against Muslim scum.
I don't care if you are a chink, a stinky Pajeet, a Sikh bro or a Christian nigger as long as you come here to work and respect my culture. But if you are a Muslim I don't want you around. You may be a good worker but sooner or later you will start nagging with your stupid shit or your son will become a suicide bomber. No fucking way.

Trentians (practising a religion which began at the 16th Century council of the same name), are neither Roman, nor Catholic, nor a Church.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_James_Napier A story for which Napier is often noted involved Hindu priests complaining to him about the prohibition of Sati by British authorities. This was the custom of burning a widow alive on the funeral pyre of her husband. As first recounted by his brother William, he replied:
"Be it so. This burning of widows is your custom; prepare the funeral pile. But my nation has also a custom. When men burn women alive we hang them, and confiscate all their property. My carpenters shall therefore erect gibbets on which to hang all concerned when the widow is consumed. Let us all act according to national customs."
>It is a muslim custom to kill people they feel insult their religion, we see that often
>It is western custom to recognize the above as an act of war and respond in kind
>Let muslims practice their customs, and we shall practice ours too
Bentley Green
