Ruling LDP and its allies are set to win more than 2/3 of contested seats.
That would enable Shinzo Abe cabinet's long-sought goal of re-writing Japanese post-WWII constitution.
This wouldn't only involve repealing article 9, which ensures that Japan is a pacifist country, but also strengthen PM's emergency powers, restrict press freedom, abolish separation of church and state and promote nationalism.
That would be a major setback for Japanese democracy and would set Japan on a path toward illiberalism.
