Netflix to Complete Orson Welles' Final Film 'The Other Side of the Wind'

At long last. I gave $275 to the kickstarter years ago. They didn't raise all the money they needed, they didn't even come close. But Based Netflix is chipping in to finish the film. I'm looking forward to finally getting those perks.

bump

Orson Welles was a fat old drunk who died because he was a fat old drunk. He isn't missed.

Unicron would be pleased.

fuck off back to /lit/ or something; no one here gives a shit about your old-timey directors

this desu, just saw Logan and it is objectively a better film than more than half of Orson's filmography. I have seen every one of his movies btw

>Netflix
>Completing the work of Orson fucking Welles

He must be rolling in his grave

>He doesn't like the kino that is Transformers

Peter Bogdanovich is overseeing it. Everything has been filmed, it just needs to be cleaned up and edited together.

>Marshall and Rymsza will be credited as producers, with Bogdanovich, Jens Koethner Kaul, Beatrice Welles, Carla Rosen-Vacher, Olga Kagan and Jon Anderson as executive producers
>Bogdanovich
>Bogdanov

You know in his lifetime he never turned down a role and was in complete shit all the time? I doubt he would care. He wasn't like Alec Guinness.

>Bogdanovich
>Son of Bogdanov

in 10-15 years, Netflix and Amazon will be the giants of American moviemaking after everyone but Disney folds (but they'll exclusively churn out Capeshit, Starwarsshit, and Cartoonshit of existing IPs and reboots/rehashes)

>Bogdanovich

He's been a fucking hack for decades, his recent movie was an embarrassing exercise.

Not really too excited about something Welles isn't overseeing himself tbqhwyfamilylampshade...
- but whatever -
I guess we'll get to see some "new" Welles footage, I guess.

He was involved in the project from the beginning. He acts in the film.

I think he left notes behind like he did with Touch of Evil.

Post the wine commercial vid where he's so drunk he can't say his lines

>I think he left notes behind like he did with Touch of Evil
That's way cooler. Thanks for the info, lad.

Ahhhhhhhh.... the wine video

I've been waiting forever for this, I hope this actually comes through. He's got so many great movies.

can i get a quick rubdown?

>The french champiiinnnnn

>'The Other Side of the Wind'

it's BRRAAPPPPPP posting for 2hrs42mins

>Netflix

this might be bait, but it's still a good case for a /film/ board

KEK

I'm hyped. It stars John Huston as an old director trying to make one last movie, there's a parallel, obviously. The kickstarter didn't even raise 50% of what they asked for, even with plugs by Wes Anderson, Elvis Mitchell, Noah Baumbach, and Steven Spielberg. I'm glad Netflix is putting all that normie money to good use.

And we backers get Blu-ray copies!

>Shitflix

rip

jerry lewis should do this with the day the clown cried

Apparently it'll be screened by the Library of Congress in 10 (now 9) years.

I hope this asshole, by some miracle, is still alive in nine years, and watches everyone react to his horrible movie.

Loos pretty good for 90. Who knows.

He was perfect for his role as a fat French king in Waterloo tho.

...

You are misinformed. He drank a lot, but when he was sober he was incredibly insightful opinions from his experiences in the film/theatre business.
He was one of the most fascinating people in the modern world.
