I'm using wingers in my current save (because some clown here convinced me 4-4-2 was a good idea) and they're not helping me tribble very well 2bh. an assist every 3-4 games and that's it. the biggest difference they make is that my fullbacks don't get as tired, which is useful I guess but hardly worth 2 positions on the field

I'd say the guy on the right is slightly better, not by a lot though. Positioning, handling, and balance are the 3 most important attributes on the match engine for keepers and he wins at 2/3.

Is attacking mentality the biggest meme of them all? Everytime I go from standard to attacking I get zero highlights for my side and just let in goals. But if I go standard I almost always dominate.

when using attacking you need to take into account that it will make your players prefer higher tempo and more direct decisions and if you don't take that into account with your team instructions they'll be prone to just hoofing the ball and trying to pull off hollywood passes all the time because they don't have the mental capacity to operate at that speed. so they just lose possession before ever getting the ball anywhere
I play from a control mentality with a focus on possession, but tend to switch to attacking if the game drags scoreless or we fall behind.
Attacking mentality with higher tempo, direct decisions, get creative or push forward instructions, and some other tactical instructions that fit your team and style of play (my shit works for lower league, but you might wanna rethink it for top leagues)
