So now that half the season is done, who was the better purchase?

So now that half the season is done, who was the better purchase?

It's mad how ppl think a good CF can win them the league, yet Pep bought three fullbacks and is a Gazillion points clear

Exceptions.
Diego Costa literally did.
Suárez turned Liverpool into title contenders.

>Aguero

>aguero
>jesus

yeah right

Because they already had the "good CF" covered dum-dum.

Both of these he had last year

Just admit the superiority of our Lord and Savior, Poop Guardiolel

Why are Americans obsessed with niggers and their dicks?

Mentally ill fucks.

Morata. Lukeku is only good from 2 yards when the keeper is lying on the ground.

Morata

Getting into shooting positions and what not is harder to coach than finishing. He has more license to improve.
Furthemore, even if he's having a shit game (see tonight) he still has very good hold up and link up play, and occupies defenders much better than Lukaku can

>Suárez turned Liverpool into title contenders.
Liverpool turned Suarez into the best striker in the world, now we turn Salah into the next Messi and Mane into Pele.

>THIS

Did you not watch the game today?

>comparing Spain's best striker to belgium's 4th

costanza

Both shit and worse than the strikers they were replacing. They're not even fun to watch either. At least with Costa you know there'd always be drama. And he was so aggressive and a bully to defenders it was great to watch.

salah ed-din (pbuh)

>Costa is back with Atleti

Finally, they can cuck Barca and Madrid again.

Who are the three Belgick strikers better than Lukaku?

Vossen, Benteke, Batshuayi

kek. Those guys are all shit compared to Lukaku. Especially Benteke.

What is the difference between Everton Lukaku and ManU Lukaku?

Is he lacking the assists?
Is he lacking positioning?
Or was he just shit to begin with?
I remember him being second choice behind Morata

Lukaku is the correct answer.

At least when he's playing like shit, other teams have to mark him with 2 players because he's big and strong. Morata just wanders around like a man-child when shit doesn't go his way. He has the confidence of a 13 year old girl.

MOHAMED SALAH

wow, you now remember Benteke

Lukaku offers nothing but goals. People think this is a stupid thing to say, because 'hurr but strikers are SUPPOSED to score goals durr' but that's the thing - even the best striker in the world doesn't score in every single game. An 'elite' striker usually has a goal ratio of every other game. A very good striker will get about 20 goals a season, and depending on cups and the like most teams will play 45+ games.

So if your striker does nothing at all except get goals, that means for 24-30 of your 45+ games you're basically a man down, because he offers nothing else at all.

Lukaku is the best example in recent memory of that kind of striker. Kane scores goals, but he also offers vastly more than that. He assists, he holds up play, he creates chances, he dictates the forward momentum of the whole side.

Lukaku just stands around in front of goal pointing at his own feet, yelling at team mates to put the ball there. When they don't he does his whole 'exasperated that you didn't put the ball exactly where i wanted it' face and sulks for a minute or two before resuming lurking around in front of the goal.

Everton were a team who had some excellent players in some areas, like Coleman on the right and Barkley in the middle (inconsistently), Stones at the back. The rest of the players were mostly shite and filler. With that in mind, every player's job was essentially to get the ball to Lukaku in front of goal. The better players like Coleman were instructed to work up the flank and either run into the box and lay off to Lukaku, or cross it to Lukaku.

Barkley had to run between boxes and get the ball to Lukaku. Every other player had to just lob it up to Lukaku.

When playing in a team in which every player only has one job from an attacking perspective, to get the ball to you while you wait in front of goal, Lukaku was able to use his one and only skill (decent finishing) to score a lot of goals.

Lukaku used to work hard as a teenager but once he made money the 'Belgian' laziness came and stayed

In a top team with higher class talent, every player has the skill necessary to do their specific job. There is no way that Mourinho was going to instruct every player for United to just give the ball to Lukaku, and even if they did, they'd basically be playing a percentages game and would end up with similar results to Everton, their entire season hinging on how many chances Lukaku puts away. They'd never set up like that when they have that kind of wage bill and those kind of players who are recruited and expected to do far more than that. They'd also never put the goal scoring burden on one player in that fashion, and have the entire team devoted to serving up chances for one outlet.

This concludes my doctoral thesis on why Lukaku is fucking shit and will be playing for an 'elite', utterly irrelevant Italian team in the space of two years, after telling the media that his United team mates aren't good enough for him, the greatest player in the world, and that everyone knows Serie A is the true elite league in world football.

assists

His finishing has been off recently but his link-up play has improved

I get what you are saying, but he is actually getting some good time on the ball and can get good passes to the others.
But I guess he was a tap-in merchant before.

You forgot the season's he played for West Bromwich Albion on the Wings.
