Is there anyone here who is still religious? I mean, "prays to God", religious, not, "yeah I believe in a higher being religious".

Sometimes I wish I was still a believer...

You know what's the saddest thing? I pass near daily on my way home and I see Muslims praying in there. They have their little community, they meet there, pray, sometimes they organise dinners, or hand out stuff to the poor amongst their community. It looks so cozy.

Why did Christians give up on that lifestyle?

I'm wondering which countries are most religious on Sup Forums

*I pass near a Protestant church daily

I'm muslim

I am Muslim.

Fuck Christians and fuck Christianity. Sons of whores.

>Why did Christians give up on that lifestyle?
well nietzsche explained it bretty good
at least for the case of christians

muslims sees religion as a commonality, that's on a different scope than europeans, and not just some recent phenonmenon

Sup Forums loves malcolm x i have noticed and what made him agree with mlk was his visit to mecca, whites and blacks praying together

maybe the meaning is lost now but for him it was something to behold

Why didn't muhammad perform any miracles?

Die kuffar

Muhammad united Arabia, a historically verified fact.

Christians cannot even prove Jesus existed. Start there before you ascribe miracles to him, you Christian piece of filth.

Fuck Christianity.

yes I'm christian and I pray every night

How peculiar
I thought muslims also believed in the earthly life of Jesus

>I'm m*slim (I fuck goats)

That is true. Christians aren't really united. People don't identify as Christians. They identify as members of some political ideology or some philosophical movement. Being Christian in itself means nothing in terms of community, at least not in western countries.

How do you feel about the minaret ban?

ben je moslim of ben je boos?

All the chuches I've seen here give money to missions, prepare dinners, help the poor, etc... Did the 4000L outdoor aquarium give it away that you went by some wacky non-RC/Orthodox church?

I go to church every Sunday, but I don't really believe. What I try to achieve is that feeling of community. Works sometimes, but only back in Croatia.
Here only old people go to church, it's sad how there's no young people like in Croatia.

Good point lol. I suspect he's just a reactionary muslim. Couldn't care less except for the fact that racist hate on him for being Arab so he reactionally identifies as muslim as his "tribe".

Tbh if I were Arab in the Netherlands I'd be angry and scared too. Way to many racists around.

>Why did Christians give up on that lifestyle?
PROTESTANTISM.

I don't go to church because social anxiety and I'm just lazy but I pray at night.

Same thing here in Canada vs Poland. Here only old people go to church and a handful of young immigrants. All the young Canadians would rather become baristas and mutilate themselves than go to school and church.

I know that feel. I grew up in a very small Catholic community in the south and moved for school work. I tried to attend mass a couple of times but it's literally only old people, there.

The only thing that surprised me was that the priest had two altar boys even though there were literally zero people in the church under 55, except for me. I don't know where he found them, lol.

I am
I grew up Christian (Reformed); wavered through my adolescence up until a couple years back, then I started studying classical philosophy and eventually Christianity in particular seems much more logical in its context

Only people going to church here are old people and Polish immigrants

I was lost during my youth. Grew up in a non-religious Catholic family. Teenage years was hard and me seeking for my identity. And now I'm a Muslim. It's fun and at least I don't feel that huge void in my heart when I was lost.

I wish I was naive enough to believe. I would probably make me a happier person and help me be braver. But, I just can't.

Not true for orthodoxy.

>Christians cannot even prove Jesus existed
Jesus did exist, it's the existence of Christ that is based on faith.

Faith is equivalent to supersutition, which proving nothing.

What i meant is that the man called Jesus of Nazareth did exist and likely had a big following. It is the existence of Christ (the one that ressurected and that performed miracles) that is not provable and it's up to you to believe it or not.

seek, and you shall find

it is very strange to me that a majority of Europeans aren't religioius

Here in America, like 80% of the population is Christian

It's a shame that people copped on that religious cosmology is bullshit but then opted to throw away any sensible teachings and community with it.

irish churches are still full in towns.

Also islam/christianity are the bastardised children of Gods Covenant.

Just go on a sport. Then you'll find a new community. You don't need to pray for that.

I've had lots of fun with my fighting sports friends. And with my football friends in the past.

I'm a Christian, OP.

>Sometimes I wish I was still a believer
It's not too late. I was a fedora for a while and I saw the light and returned to God. You can too. I encourage you to reflect on religion and read as much about the philosophy of religion and theology as possible. I'm sure you'll realise that God is real as well.

In Islam, Jesus is the penultimate prophet. Obviously that's wrong, because Jesus is the Messiah. It's funny that you're supposedly a Muslim and I understand your religion better than you do.

That's not actually true. If I tell you I have blue eyes, you'd be taking it on faith that I do have blue eyes. It is true that I have blue eyes, therefore faith would be leading you to a truthful conclusion.

I don't expect you to understand the philosophical merit of what I've just said, though.

...

kek, I've met a few lads like you. Always turns out you're just easily led by reading a lot of one-sided spin. This probably why you went fedora in the first place.

Being a supernatural cultist requires the person to be easily lead. In all honesty humanity would be so much better if religious people were rounded up and shot.

Compared to the atheists?

youtube.com/watch?v=vw-6ToEcirE

It's pretty hard to explain difficult concepts to an outsider. I studied tax law and man, try explaining that to someone who doesn't understand basic accounting.
It's the same as trying to explain the bible to someone in a couple sentences.

Oh yeah, God had a son but he was born from a virgin. That son is also god, who had to die for sins we didn't do, but now the son who is also god is dead we are all forgiven by god. So now our soul, which is an invisible part of our body, will go to a different world than before the son of god died.

Ah yes.

literally no one apart from 50+ year old people are practicing christians here

most priests are irreligious and are in it just for the money. literally judaism

>Why did Christians give up on that lifestyle?
Christianity fell apart on its own

Even trying to discuss every aspect of the bible is a study in itself. Let alone if you want to discuss the nature of the universe.

Disgusting atheists

t. Mormon

this imageboard exists as well as its users. therefore god doesen't

Growing up in a cult makes every religion look like a farce, mainly because they all are. Grow up.

Your argument is fairly bad, but I'll address it anyway.

>I've met a few lads like you.
You've never met me, and your baseless personal attack is embarrassing.

>Always turns out you're just easily led by reading a lot of one-sided spin.
I don't know if you can call two thousand years of philosophy "one-sided spin". I'd bet I've read more atheistic philosophy than you have, anyway.

Atheists always act like the religious are ignorant, but most atheists' views boil down to "I can't see it, therefore it cannot possibly exist and requires no further consideration or research."

>This probably why you went fedora in the first place.
No, I was a fedora because I was close-minded enough to think I had all the answers, even though I knew fuck all, and that I was the centre of the universe so therefore if I couldn't see something, it couldn't be real.

>easily led
That doesn't make sense, though, because the Protestant Reformers weren't "easily led", they risked their lives to go against the grain because of sincere belief.

Can either of you give me a reason for your disbelief beyond "I cannot see it and therefore it isn't real"?

evolution is not real
it can't be real because endosymbiosis is impossible
