Top 5 tv shows

Post your top 5 tv shows

Trailer Park Boys
Fargo
The Wire
Firefly
Detectorists

Can this just be a trailer park boys thread

eyy

That's a hard choice, in all honesty.

But, loose order:

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

Futurama

Stargate SG-1

Babylon 5

5th slot would be a toss up between several dozen series, so...

frig off

does anime count? if not im left with

Twin Peaks
and maybe The Shield

True Detective
Seinfeld
Silicon Valley
Nathan For You
Law & Order

Dirk Gently was probably the best TV show of last year. So of course there were no threads about it.

Fargo
True Detective
Space Dandy
Justified
Young Pope

I wish I could say Sopranos but visuals matter and the show looks like dogshit compared to how well written it was.

fargo
prison break season 1
the office uk
band of brothers
sopranos

Justified
Fargo
Burn Notice (so comfyy)
Star Trek TOS
Person of Interest

Muh nigga

Completely missed the tone of the books and was full of the typical faggyy Max Landis style of wackiness.

Never read the books are they on par with Hitchhikers? Also, bein tonally different is not necessarily bad.

Lost
Fargo
True
Better call saul
Seinfeld

True Detective
Deadwood
Battlestar Galactica
LOST
Cheers

They're great but much smaller scale.

>Also, bein tonally different is not necessarily bad.
I don't care for ADD "look at me" type of crazy for craziness sake.
There is a lot of absurdity in the books but it's more like it is in the Hitchhiker, where it's mostly an extreme exaggeration of absurdity you find in real life.

Mad Men
The Leftovers
The Sopranos
Futurama
Curb your enthusiasm

Pretty standard. This might not be my top 5 though, as I didn't really think about it and just wrote down the first five that popped into my head, and I am just now, as I am writing this, remembering shows that I might enjoy equally, or maybe even more.

no particular order

trailer park boys
always sunny
family guy
futurama

Seinfeld
Futurama
Stranger Things (admittedly, this one could really suck still, but season one was amazing)

Always Sunny
Peep Show

sopranos
seinfeld
the wire
the suite life of zack and cody

Convince me that firefly wasn't a boring, corny, space cowboy show. Because that show was honestly cringe to me and I loved the idea. Don't know how so many people enjoy it.

Twin Peaks
Mad Men
Deadwood
The Wire
The Simpsons (even though it hasn't been good in ~20 years and is at this point genuinely unwatchable)

Probably would've been great if it wasn't written by Max Landis, but it was just okay.

Burn Notice is pretty objectively terrible, but my god, it really is comfy af. I'd watch pretty much anything with Bruce in it to be honest.

Hannibal
Peep Show
Spartacus
Always Sunny
Halt and Catch Fire

Fargo
Westworld

Twin Peaks
Mad Men

The Office
It's Always Sunny
Peep Show
Chappelle Show
The Prisoner

Yeh I watch a lot of comedy

1. The Sopranos
2. The Walking Dead
3. Mad Men
4. The Wire
5. Curb Your Enthusiasm

I care about fantastic writing and not over the top action. All of these are great character studies.

Deadwood
LOST
King of the Hill
SVU
True Detective

>I care about fantastic writing
>2. The Walking Dead

would you mind explaining this? i'm not trying to be rude but what the heck.

I think it has some of the most deep and well rounded characters in any tv show ever. That is why people are so outraged whenever one of them dies. They are all some of the best and most complex characters ever written in my opinion. I would compare Rick Grimes to a Tony Soprano type, he does bad things but you can understand his motivations based on the world he lives in.

1.The Sopranos
2.Mad Men
3.Scrubs
4.True Detective
5.The Inbetweeners

alright, cool. i was just curious about your motivations.

good writing is a stretch though. giving speeches and monologues is just lazy, and it happens every episode.
