It was the best in terms of stunts.
The crew themselves were spiraling though. Steve-O was fucked up out of control, Dunn was depressed, Bam and the whole MTV skater subculture was fading.
Jackass 3D was the best for the camaraderie of the crew. Dunn and Steve-O both got their shit together, and according to all the interviews it was just a really fun, chill production.

If it sounds like it piques your interest based off the thread though, go for it.
Start with 2 then watch 3d and 2.5/3.5 and if you like all that there's some pretty good stuff in the tv show. Go ahead and skip the first movie unless you absolutely loved everything else. It's not so good imo
Also Viva La Bam was good from what I remember. Worth watching for Vito and Bam's dumbass friends if nothing else.
