The vengeful spirit of Old Labour rises. Not only did she guide us to victory and our vote to get out of the EU but she will defeat the Blairites, who so hate the white English working class, and those child molesting Conservative fruits as well.

"Old Labour" isn't returning. That's a meme too.
Corbyn is too far left to be "Old Labour" in the true sense of the term (Continues moving right even after winning in 1997 and 2001 and 2005, especially 2005 as authoritarianism seeps in. >This farce pushes away Scotland, who vote SNP in 2007, and destroys turnout in working class areas. >Blairites pretend this is all fine because "Blair won elections"
I would honestly give anything to live in a world where John Smith at least survived to win 1997.

I paid the £3 to vote for Corbychev last time - should I bother to upgrade for £25 so I can have a vote?

That's what happening. Normal rules would dictate that he would need support of his MPs (which he doesn't have) so they are changing the rules so he can be re-elect to lead a party where he doesn't have the support of his MPs.

There's two days where those who paid the £3 before February can upgrade to full membership by paying £25, but everyone else is fucked.

Edited Plan to fix Britain:
>REMAIN a monarchy >STILL name ourselves the UK >BUT, along with a Prime Minister and a Queen, have a Lord Protector who takes over all of the traditional monarchs powers >10 year terms >Will appoint the Governments of each countries at will, decide Election Dates but have relatively less power elsewhere >MMP system >Large House of Commons, 10 MPs per million population (650 right now) >Small House of Lords, 1 per million population (65 right now) >HoL will have much more power than right now, can stand against the HoC >Will be mostly elected, but will reserve positions for some very prominent people >Keep peerages, but remove any Hereditary appointments >They will serve as special advisers to the Houses >Implement a written constitution, containing all of the generic stuff >100% Parliamentary Democracy, absolutely NO plebiscite trash like referenda, and we cannot give up our sovereignty to intranational bodies like the EU >National and Regional Governments and Parliaments for the entire nation and each constituent country >No regional Party allowed in the National governments >And no National Party allowed in the Regional governments >Make secession illegal >To strengthen ties between the nation, spread the separation of powers >National Parliament (legislature) in London, England >National Government (executive) in Edinburgh, Scotland >National Courts (Judiciary) in Cardiff, Wales >Place a focus on retaining British cultural heritage >Important Church of England >Small migration >Nationalise only natural monopolies like railways and mines >Economy of wellfare capitalism, so we don't go full socialism but our people don't die from hospital debt

it is widely believed that jeremy corbyn will win another leadership contest, since he still has the support of the party membership.
the MPs who are challenging him were hedging their bets on corbyn not automatically having a place on the ballot. if that was the case, he would have needed to be nominated again by enough MPs, which is unlikely.
now that he will be on the ballot, he will probably remain leader. this could potentially cause a split in the labour party. either way, the party is basically a walking corpse at this point, divided massively between its leadership, MPs, members and the rest of the country.

One member, one vote now, and you no longer are automatically a labour member when you join a union, you have to opt in. The tory government now only answer to the tory membership, because they have just won the next few general elections.

Doesn't matter if they're not UK wide in de-jure terms.
Better than the fucking Lib-Dems de-facto.
UKIP could be bantsy if somehow their 1 MP got it.
The SNP are legitimately more competent than the Labour party in every way, though. If I was a Labourite, the SNP would be essentially where I'd put myself ideologically except for immigration (they can afford to talk more left-wing on immigration since nobody actually moves to Scotland.)

>There's two days where those who paid the £3 before February can upgrade to full membership by paying £25, but everyone else is fucked. BBC has it worded slightly differently. >It looks like anyone who joined after then will have to pay an extra £25 to become a "registered supporter" - and will get a two-day window in which to sign up Which makes it seems that people who registered after can still vote if they upgrade.
