Attention /who/

A source has informed me that Craig Roberts has been cast as 13.

>why live
In hopes of making it to paradise.

epic

>he/she/xir/it still watches Doctor "Literally" Who in 2017

Come the fuck on. It's literally Old Who tier + Annoying negro female companion.

Martha was a fucking qt and adorable.
Why did they get an annoying negro? It's a negro Donna.

Jesus Chris, Whoever-The-Show-Runner-Is-Now.

Reminder Series 8 was mediocre and a waste of Capaldi.
Reminder Series 9 was better.

Not even close.

...

Attention /who/

A source has informed me that Holly Taylor has been cast as 13. Her companions will be an older man and woman. "I liked the almost paternal interactions between Capaldi and Bill, but I thought it would be fun to turn that around. Like Tennant and Wilf, if they were both 20 years younger."

The format will return to 20-25 episodes of 23 minutes each, as in most of the Classic era. But instead of 6-part serials, they will mostly be standalone episodes where "the characters are generally in the same place at the end as they were at the start, so casual viewers can come and go as they please".

Also, Chibnall has hired his writers room, but it's in Hollywood. Most of the staff writers have experience in sitcoms, teen dramas, and superhero shows.

Starting in S11, the show will be a BBC/CW/Space coproduction, mostly filmed in Vancouver.

But that's just what my source says, and I can't tell you who it is because then I'd have to kill you.

...

Where's a good place to purchase Classic Who DVDs in the US? The official sites and Amazon do not look good at all in terms of pricing.

reminder that Williams >> Lloyd > Hinchcliffe > Bryant > Wiles > Verity > Sherwin >>> Moff=RTD=JNT

Let's settle this:
strawpoll.me/12587892

All the stories are pretty shit, the arc is fucking pathetic, Clara is a cunt. Oh and Maise's character is an annoying piece of shit.

>Rose, Martha, Donna, Jack vs. Amy, Danny Pink, Ashildr
>leaves off the most important companions of each era
>Lady Christina de Souza vs. CyberBrig

Yeah, the prices suck. So just pirate it all, and then buy enough overpriced CDs until you've paid what you think they should have cost.

Hmmmm..

>All the stories are pretty shit
The only bad episodes were Sleep No More and Woman Who Lived.

>the arc is fucking pathetic
>caring about arcs
It was better than Missy stalking 12/Clara for no reason.

>Clara is a cunt
In S8 she was.

>Oh and Maise's character is an annoying piece of shit.
She was just meh.

Maisie is annoying piece of shit

Hmmmm..

"Watcha thinking about, Cloister?"

I have pirated it all, but the quality for Classic Who is shit, hence my sudden interest.

All I know is, that there is about 3 episodes I can watch is series 8 and 1 in series 9.

>there are people
>in this thread
>that don't think series 8 is kino aside from In the Forest and KtM

Plus you need those special features. They're fucking great.

Quick quiz. Cloister is:

a) Stalling because he's trying to figure out which producers are missing from without looking it up

b) Stalling while trying to figure out which companions are missing from without looking it up

c) Dreaming of CyberdeSouza a la Chibnall and not realizing he's typing

>implying Danny was kino

>RTD / Moffat crossover audios when?

Rose: Rose Tyler. Defender of the universe. You?
Bill: I'm Bill. I serve chips.

>In the Forest of the Night
>not kino

VOTING FRAUD

>tfw rtd chad

The quality is shit because it's shot on video, for SD PAL, not because the pirates did a bad job encoding them. There's only so much "restoration" they can do to make it look good on a modern widescreen HD TV. But you can find full DVD rips if you want to waste the bandwidth and disk space.

Where are you pirating them that you don't get the special features?

ILLEGALS ARE VOTING

You didn't know that Rose is part of Lion Force Voltron?

>Where are you pirating them that you don't get the special features?
I have been buying the classics on DVD since I was 5. Pretty cheap in NZ, if you know where to look.

>tfw liking both master race

>tfw just enjoying the show race
feels good man

Just finished my 7th Doctor rewatch. Now I plan to dive into one of the last Whoniverse frontiers which I have not pierced: the VNAs.

Does anyone have a guide? Are there certain ones that I can skip because they suck and don't play any role in any arcs? I don't wanna skip something if it means missing something and will sit through it all if I must.

TURN ON CNN

There are a few you can definitely skip.

But, rather than taking someone's list, I'd just skim reviews for each, decide which ones you want to read, and read summaries for the ones that sound bad. (And you can always check here after each novel to see if anyone wants to change your mind.)

Useful sites:

pagefillers.com/dwrg/newadv.htm collects reviews

drwhoguide.com/books.htm#VIRGIN has summaries of each book, and also has the DWM prelude (usually a one-page story that's worth reading if you read the book) for each one.

whoniverse.net/discontinuity has a capsule review and summary of the important stuff and fun bits for each book in the same style of as the Discontinuity Guide reference for TV.

>no fifth posts
lads?

Also: Even though it's an MA, read Cold Fusion after Damaged Goods and before the last batch of NAs.

And if you don't skip Blood Harvest, read Goth Opera after it.

Why a lot of the doctor's companions like getting BLACKED?

They don't it's BBC race mixing propaganda. in real life, Jenna Coleman only dates whitemen, Billy Piper only dates whitemen, Catherine Tate is married to a whiteman, Karen Gillan only likes whitemen, hell even Freema Agyemen only likes whitemen but shes qt so it's okay.

BBC race mixing propaganda is a complete failure.

What did the BBC mean by this?

What the fuck is that Adrian Chiles?

Never mind that, what did they mean by THIS?

i fapped to this once

>a character's taste in men should reflect that of their actor
What did user mean by this?

That's not the point. It's the point that the BBC clearly has a race mixing agenda going on when it's obvious most white women like men of their own race.

>that ugly fucker gets to grab Donna's nobles every night
:'(

>the BBC is trying to push the agenda that it's okay to love someone of a different color
The fiends!

Someone please tell me what Airzone Solution is, looking at it on Youtube and IDK whats going on

All I know is it's movie that has nothing to do with Doctor Who but was made by Doctor Who people. Maybe they just wanted an excuse to hang out.

Yeah, it's basically one of a bunch of "substitute Dr. Who" videos made in the 90s.

>The Airzone Solution
>P.R.O.B.E.
>The Stranger
>Downtime (not to be confused with Shakedown)
>Jon Blum's Zygon porn

Wtf, well where is that pic of Colin and Sophie from? I couldn't see it whilst I was skimming though.

It's the only early BBV movie that's not supposed to be Doctor Who with the serial numbers filed off.

But then once they got Pertwee, Davison, Colin, and McCoy to star in it, Briggs couldn't help writing their characters to be a lot more like their Doctors than he originally intended, so…

Think it might be The Stranger actually, pic related is Airzone

Yeah but those others were at least in the DWU or were pseudo-Who. The Airzone Solution is just a random story with bunch of Doctor Who actors.

Good stuff

>mfw I listened to an episode of Sandifer's podcast where Blum tries to pretend it wasn't his fault it turned into porn

Is any of this canon?

Don't forget Cyberon, which was not a DWU spinoff or a pseudo-Who substitute but a pseudo-DWU-spinoff substitute.

EVERYTHING is canon.

All of it, but especially the Stranger series, which starts off as DW with the serial numbers filed off but then a few movies in goes out of its way to show us that it has no connection to DW canon whatsoever, after which the characters and situations stop being anything like Sixie/Peri.

But is Myth Runner more or less canon than Do You Have a License to Save This Planet?

Reminds me of this. It's me btw.

Wikipedia actually has a pretty good article on BBV (and also one on Reeltime). Probably because, unlike TDC, they have no need to tie themselves up in edit wars trying to decide whether to delete all information on Cyberon because it didn't license anything DWU or rewrite it all because Zygon did license DWU stuff and used characters from Cyberon…

Not even heard of Myth Runner before. I will never cease to be baffled and impressed by how much obscure who stuff exists.

>Not even heard of Myth Runner before.
It's Briggs' parody of Blade Runner made largely out of clips and outtakes from Myth Makers, the interview/documentary series about Doctor Who that he did for Reeltime.

It's every bit as good as that sounds.
