If gay propaganda is real, wouldn't this film be encouraging black people to turn gay (i.e., not reproduce)?

If black people stop reproducing, then who am I supposed to hate? Retard

Sup Forums and Sup Forums hate it because they are plebs

>Sup Forums hates it

Not really, just memers and a few dumb Sup Forumsacks

yourself

You forget the part where Sup Forumsniggers don't think.

cool strawman bro, maybe people dont like fags because they have an inordinate amount of hebe/pedophiles in their ranks

Sup Forums hates it because it's blatant oscar bait and nothing else, obviously

fuck

Nobody in first world countries cares about gay people at this point.

what about that big milo thing then?

>itt: triggered redditors and tumblrinas

Isn't that only yanks that care about it? Again, I did say first world.

touche

He types, in American

>in American
Delusion.

doesnt look like hebrew to me

...

So, logistically, how the fuck do you create a film about a gay negro without this "oscar bait" bait?

Can't a nigger catch a break?

...

>it's blatant oscar bait and nothing else
Objectively false.

This isn't Sup Forums we love bbc
So we all love gay movies with lots of niggers.

But Sup Forums told him to think that

GOOD post

THE problem is main character are only ever made to be gay or black if that's to be a plot point, the movies about being gay or being black.

For a movie to be about a gay black guy and not be Oscar bait it would require those two things to be largely irrelevant.

ie if predator 2 had a scene where Danny glover kissed his boyfriend only to see him decapitated by the predator 5 min later. That would be a movie where the main characters, black, gay and isn't Oscar bait in the slightest because the main character being gay and black is incidental

What exactly do you think Oscar bait means?

Going for the low hanging fruit when it comes to themes and plot points in a film

I didn't think Moonlight was like that. I think movies like Hidden Figures or even La La Land are more of Oscar bait than Moonlight.

I definitely agree some films are more oscar bait than others, especially the two you mentioned, but saying moonlight wasn't Oscar bait at all seems very naive.

Sup Forums isnt one person retard

I don't think the director chose to make it because he wanted to win awards or tell an "important" story. It seems like he chose to adapt the play because he personally identified with it, since the main character grew up in the same neighborhood as he did and experienced some of the same things. I guess it just feels more personal to me than what is typically described as Oscar bait because I think of Oscar bait as focused on telling "important" stories or stories that will draw critical acclaim first and foremost, rather than stories that have a personal connection to the filmmaker.

A culture and consensus can exist without it being uniform retard

Films don't have to be propaganda they can just be stories about characters that apply to real world issues.

I can't imagine you've even seen this film the way you speak of it because it doesn't somehow encourage every to be gay because a gay guy is in it.

I agree that Moonlight was not really Oscar bait, because honestly the main characters race had nothing to do with the themes and plot, and his sexuality was only really incidental and could have really been anything that made him feel like an outsider.

Moonlight isnt about being black or being gay, its a character study on a person who feels like an outsider in his community and ends up pretending to be something that he is not in order to avoid being hurt. Its not about gay acceptance or racism, its about self discovery and becoming comfortable with yourself.

A bit more of an actual "film" than purely Oscar bait.

This movie wasn't good. It could have been good, but it wasn't.

I don't think this movie was bad and admit it's a solid character study...

But I'm still scratching my head over how it won BP. I mean... yeah, it won because it came a year after #Oscarsowhite and the election of the God Emperor... but even so it doesn't feel like a film that fits the bill of Best Picture (whatever that is).

Then again of the few BP nominees I saw this year I can't think of anything else that fits the bill either. LLL was great technically but meh for the most part, Manchester was overrated, Arrival wasn't anything special, and while I loved Hacksaw and Hell or high Water neither really struck me as being quite BP caliber either.

Was last year really that shitty, or am I missing a film that actually fits the BP bill?

It was decent character study imho, but not worthy of all the praise it's had thrown its way.

>if gay propaganda is real
>if

That's why gay porn literally stayed on youtube for a month until they started losing customers.

You honestly believe niggers sat down for more than forty minutes to watch this?

If we didn't they certainly didn't either

Someone post the niggers getting butthurt because they didn't know it was about gays.

>explaining a blatantly obvious plot

Yeah we got it, it's not exactly subtle which is why it was clearly Oscar bait especially coming off the heels of #oscarssowhite.

i remember when the screener dropped.
made a thread on Sup Forums about it.
The reaction was pretty positive user

Haven't seen it yet but only because I haven't had the time to sit and watch an intimate look into black life today.

Like thats completely the opposite of my life, so you gotta be in a "ready" place to treat the film fairly. I understand why so many blacks don't watch white life cinema even though it also has larger themes/messages.
