From what I recall it has a lot of formal tropes from other SWs dialled to 10: like weird cross cutting, a flashback structure that's nearly comically incoherent and lip syncing that's sometimes perfect and sometimes terrible. I'd like to think that these are intentional in order to pull you into the nightmare state scenario of the film. But when I watch it later I'll see if that's a misremembering. Still worth it for Milian if nothing else.

Yeah, in 2011 by an american lawyer who sued to get the rights to Easy Rider. He proceeds to make this weird boring Easy Rider sequel/tribute that has a somewhat conservative undertone.
It's also comically obvious that its a vanity project because the lead actor, the aforementioned lawyer, looks sort of like Fonda, so he spends the entire film dressed as his character from the original, even though he's playing that character's brother. Sadly it's just boring.

Alex Proyas follows the already baffling Knowing with this fucking epic shitshow. The effect of making the main character really small compared to the egyptian god dudes is hilarious. It made me rewind and stop the movie several times. It is the quintessential kusoge experience of 2016 in movie form. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau does his best shitty Demon's souls boss impersonation, Gerard Butler is in full apple chomping mode and there are a lot of boss fights. It is like a goofy dumb fantasy movie with a huge budget. People who hate movies like this have no soul.
