but the chances are very good that i will be in future:
my father was alcoholic (this shit really fucks up kids head)
I have low self estem
I can't handle my emotions
No will power
no plans for future
no, just feeling empty and tired of living.
u are depressed already
I don't think so, but I'm definitely at a low right now. I've started to feel lonely, and im discouraged from learning my target language. Add a pinch of girl troubles, and things are sucking.
yes my job is shit and no gf
Yep.
No idea what I'm doing with my life. No job, no skills, no hobby, no gf, no friends, low on money, leeching off of my parents.
This is possible in Mother Russia? How old are you?
24
I've got a master's degree but that's just a diploma, I know nothing about my supposed profession.
No particular interests either, i'm just sitting all day on Sup Forums and sometimes I take walks across the city from one end to the other because I got nothing better to do.
>Five (or more) of the following symptoms have been present during the same 2-week period and represent a change from previous functioning; at least one of the symptoms is either (1) depressed mood or (2) loss of interest or pleasure.
>Note: Do not include symptoms that are clearly attributable to another medical condition.
>1. Depressed mood most of the day, nearly every day, as indicated by either subjective report (e.g., feels sad, empty, hopeless) or observation made by others (e.g., appears tearful). (Note: In children and adolescents, can be irritable mood.)
>2. Markedly diminished interest or pleasure in all, or almost all, activities most of the day, nearly every day (as indicated by either subjective account or observation.)
>3. Significant weight loss when not dieting or weight gain (e.g., a change of more than 5% of body weight in a month), or decrease or increase in appetite nearly every day. (Note: In children, consider failure to make expected eight gain.)
>4. Insomnia or hypersomnia nearly every day.
>5. Psychomotor agitation or retardation nearly every day (observable by others, not merely subjective feelings of restlessness or being slowed down).
>6. Fatigue or loss of energy nearly every day.
>7. Feelings of worthlessness or excessive or inappropriate guilt (which may be delusional) nearly every day
>(not merely self-reproach or guilt about being sick).
>8. Diminished ability to think or concentrate, or indecisiveness, nearly every day (either by subjective
account or as observed by others).
>9. Recurrent thoughts of death (not just fear of dying), recurrent suicidal ideation without a specific plan, or a suicide attempt or a specific plan for committing suicide
Feeling empty counts as depressed
7 out of 9
ha ha
You probably have major depressive disorder then, and you would benefit from combined CBT and SSRI therapy in 60% of cases, or in 40% of cases from just an SSRI
oh shit, i have the number 8
i can't read books anymore
If it's just number 8 it doesn't mean anything, many people have bad concentration (including me)
Well you’ve got more than me with that master’s. I’m in a similar position but a drop out.
Get a hobby though. Find something useful and productive you like. Get creative.
8 out of 9
but i hate the bad concentration because i wanna read books
What I said to the Russian.
If you score 8/9 and one of those is number 1 or 2, and a psychiatrist evaluates it the same way, you can get an SSRI or a combination of an SSRI and CBT and your depression would be successfully treated in 40% and 60% of cases respectively.
That doesn't say your conversation improves, but it does say that at the worst you will only have 4/9 symptoms as opposed to the 8/9 you have now.
i gave up tbqhwy, im 5'6, balding at the age of 19 years old and my dick is below average in girth
>SSRI
>taking drugs that numb your mind
What do you mean by numb your mind?
Jorge, I don't know your personal situation, but if you have major depressive disorder, alopecia and subjectively short stature and genital size are the least of your concerns.
>implying major depressive disorder doesn't numb your mind
SSRIs have a relatively little side effects, but then again I don't know how it feels to take them because I've never had to take them.
It still seems a lot better than walking around with a major depression, but the side effects certainly outweigh the benefits if you suffer from any less serious form of depression or a burnout.
sad maybe but not depressed
depressed person is not able to feel joy/happyness (their brain is not able to produce serotonin)
i feel happy sometimes
i got 2,3,4,5,6,7,9
what do i win ?
I'm not even thought I sometimes thought of killing myself while I was suffering as a conscript...
A chance to improve if you have yourself referred to a psychiatrist
Drugs are too expensive.
Same, but I'm only happy when drunk/high on some shit.
Fluoxetine costs about 0.03 Euro per day if you buy the cheapest brand.
He wouldn't be joking and playing around on the internet if he had it.
I'm not saying Jorge is a real person who truly has 8/9 symptoms of major depressive disorder, but I'm pretty sure that being able to shitpost doesn't mean you don't have a depression
Neither am I saying he doesn't, but chances are he's one of the losers who use depression as an excuse and to feel cool and unique.
Yes all the time.
yep, think of suicide a lot more than is healthy
if i didn't have a family i'd be dead by now
yeah I'm depressed
literally are you me bro
i say the exact same thing.
I've only ever tsken that shit for a couple of weeks max, it dulls your mind and sure, you don't feel all that sad, but it cuts off those moments of happiness also.
Lifting and reading books seems to do good for me, and cutting back on alcohol/drugs as well.
Remember most people don't have their shit so well together as they'd like you to believe. They spend enormous amount of time on instagram and other social media trying to convince you what a perfect life they lead. Just ditch all that shit and concentrate on your own well being.
If there's any silverlining, I think depression teaches a lot about yourself, and you'll come out more empathetic as well.
No but I was for years until I quit drugs and got my life together. Now in uni and got a nice gf. Still nolifer and kind of socially awkward but who gives a fuck I'm happy and have a future going for me.
It takes about 6 to 8 weeks for the SSRI to reach its maximum effect, it's one of the things you need to consider, and you shouldn't be surprised when the side-effects seem more pronounced than the positive effects in the beginning.
Great that you've found a good routine that keeps you mentally healthy. If possible, at least one hour of sporting a week, maximum daylight exposure, good sleeping habits, good food habits etc. should all be tried before seeking help, but unfortunately there are many people for which this is insufficient.
Yea, I'm not encouraging people to drop their medication, just figured myself that I have to do something to change the status quo.
And yes, a healthy died is important too.
WHY DO YOU R9K FAGS KEEP POSTING THIS SHIT HERE. HOW MANY TIMES DOES IT NEED TO BE DELETED
...
I don't like sharing my feelings there because it's full of retarded, deluded, sour-grape syndrome suffering, bitter manchildren.
That sounds like here.
nope absolutely not
r9k is full of mentally sick people
in robots eyes every one who seeks friends/gf/mental help is a normie and should leave.
they circle jerk about those evil women/chads who ruined their life and how it's all societies fault
this place is not in any way similar to r9k
Canada should be deleted
Yes. Wanted just sleep with someone. I never tried that
Dude there's literally multiple threads like that on here at all times. Check all the threads about being a neet, depressed, etc
Because that is a international feeling.
Going to sleep now, might die peacefully in my sleep. I never asked for anything.
Everything is international then
WTF
I like Albinoni now
abilify is failing me so yes
