Why are there no movies about British Royal Marines? There's a million movies and tv shows about US Marines Corps but the Royal Marines are a million times tougher than them.
Why are there no movies about British Royal Marines...
They don't need the marketing.
Same reason you don't see Ferrari commercials on day time TV.
This.
Damn Sup Forums's on form today.
>Royal Marines are required to undergo one of the longest and most physically demanding specialist infantry training regimes in the world. Recruit training lasts for 32 weeks for Marines and 60 weeks for officers. Potential recruits must be male and aged 16 to 32 (18 to 25 for Commissioned Officers);[49] however by the end of 2018 women will be permitted to apply after the ban on women in Ground Close Combat roles was lifted in July 2016.[50]
No woman is going to make it as a Royal Marines Commando.
I'll be surprised if any even make it past the PRMC
youtube.com
in which way are they tougher?
Longer and more arduous training before passing out, and RMC are also trained to operate in more environments, not just in desert, jungle and urban
maybe they're just really genetically weaker so it takes them longer to get into shape?
tell me more about their training
Not the Marines but did anyone else used to watch Bad Lads Army?
Wish they'd bring it back for another series.

There"s that James Blunt Kosovo movie.
Frankly its probably because acheivements of the royal marines that can be made into movies are:
>Talks shit about our forces when everyone comes to train with ours including getting people sent to train them.
Britain gave up it's army since basically all of their old enemies are playing pattycake so really what is point?
I mean unless Russians learn how to move an army across europe.
>I mean unless Russians learn how to move an army across europe.
Damn Nigga Haha Thank Fuck For Boats Lmao Nigga
Pretty sure the girl I worked with on a wildland fire hotshot crew could pass this.
It's kinda pointless to compare the Royal Marine Commandos to the US Marines. Royal Marines are an elite infantry unit comparable more to the US Rangers.
Anyway, if you want a decent movie about the military, they have to approve it and will fund it, make sure they aren't cast in a bad light etc. The British military runs on a shoestring budgets compared to the USA so I doubt they are going to piss a load of money away on a movie.
Isn't britain the only other country with a functioning nuclear aircraft carrier? I know china will soon.
>those gloves
>goggles with giant logo on them
looks like mexican snow troopers
Then the requirements will be changed shitlord :)
Isn't that what U.S did with allowing retries on certain parts of crucible or something?
Really Sup Forums? Nobody's seen this? This is a classic
>Watching movies with slav production crew
Because US is the one that makes movies.
Kinda.
They just implemented a literal double standard because they didn't want the quality of male troops to suffer but very, very, very few females could pass male standards.
There are a lot of good documentaries, there was one about the St Nazaire raid in WW2 with Jeremy Clarkson, one about Norway etc
But basically there isnt the same hero worship in the UK
That was just regular British army against some SAS wankers.
Nevertheless, good show old boy. Dog Soldiers has perfect army unit banter and is legitimately the best werewolf movie around.
That's just the test to see if you are even eligible to join the Royal Marines. If they deem you physically and mentally capable after those 3 days then it's another 8 months (at the very least) of training.
There's a 6 or 7 part series about the Royal Marines on youtube
so they take a million bullets to kill instead of one?
that floating photo of marines/troops helping build privacy shelters for ladies always gave me a giggle.
On other hand, I can't imagine it not being a sausagefest as a bad thing.
like if my football team had a female kicker or something I would have been fine with that. I don't know.
Another user pointed out how it diminishes the achievement of those that accomplish things without rules helping them.. so I guess I can see that.
>Several training exercises with overseas troops
>Way worse equipment
>Still win everytime
Finnish marines beat you all
>He thinks fins can handle the swimgod
>But basically there isnt the same hero worship in the UK
With the way the poppy has gone from "remember the senseless slaughter of WWI" to "WHY AREN'T YOU SUPPORTING OUR TROOPS ABROAD BY WEARING THE POPPY TODAY, DO YOU WANT THE TERRORISTS TO WIN?!!?" witch-hunts in recent years... I'm afraid of it moving in that direction.
It gets right on my tits when someone brings up how they're in the service from nowhere and people just automatically go "thank you for your service" before they can tackle the rest of what they're saying, even if the rest of what they're saying is shithouse insane. Instead of questioning why they're even bringing it up in an unrelated discussion, like a mother qualifying her argument with "I'm a mother and...".
Ye cus we have fins, and that guy only has arms.
Check mate
Veneration of the troops happens here as well, it's no different than any other service where people perform a public service.

>this ONE simple country that Russians and Brits HATE!
The most cringe thing I ever saw was an overweight full kit REME guy in PC world asking if there's a military discount, I'm not sure if he was TA or not but he was acting as if he was a certified war hero and not a tax payer funded mechanic.
A team is only as strong as its weakest link and when you weren't really good enough to get on the team to begin with and the only reason you're there is because it validates people's retarded beliefs in human equality, that makes you a pretty weak link.
Maybe if you screenshot your post sticking up for her she will actually sleep with you!!
lmfao
You know U.S. Marines train for arctic climates too, right? There was literally multiple videos a few weeks ago highlighting the interoperability of both RMC and USMC training in the environment.
Yeah the RMC are just now training the USMC for it. Because of Russia
That's been happening for years. Literally. I can go back years on DVIDS. Plus the marines have the mountain warfare course in Northern California.
fake news
Sure kiddo
Yes. Corporal Niokis was a boss. Great show.
