Power Rangers stayed as long as it did because of Super Sentai that is continuing to be produced from 1975 to this day.
Which in turn stayed on for so long because it's a quality action series with likable characters and stories.
And it's practically never been a "slice of life".

Mainly calling it edgy and whining about how "un-PR" this series was. There were shitposters banned from rangerboard because they kept whining that much about RPM
