Why is wearing a watch a sign of masculinity?

Why is wearing a watch a sign of masculinity?

Use your fucking phone brah, for real. Since smart phones have been a thing, there's been NO NEED FOR A WATCH.

Watches are expensive ornaments. They demonstrate that the owner can afford a watch.

watches are like shoes, you can instantly tell a mans life story and personality by his watch (or lack there of)

>time is money
>investing money in a symbol of time

that is literally fashion. it makes sense even though not practically perfect

>having to pull you phone out of your pocket to see what time it is

I have a smartwatch that connects to my phone. Deal with it.

This, also watches are the ONLY acceptable man jewelry

>not having you phone grafted to your arm
its 2016 brah

Tell my life story bro

You know, dumb phones tell time too.

>poorfag can't afford to own an expensive watch

>there's been NO NEED FOR A WATCH.
There's very much a need fore a watch. Its kids who don't care what time it is who don't wear a watch.

A watch is something employers look for when interviewing someone. If that person doesn't wear a watch, it tells the employer "that guy isn't responsible, he doesn't care what time it is, he'll probably show up late to work."

You can use a watch to tell what time it is during exams, when you can't pull out your phone. You can use it while biking or driving. Glancing at your watch is a lot more subtle than pulling out your phone. Some people may see it as rude for you to constantly be looking at your phone when eating a meal with them, or worse, just leaving it on the table.

Grew up in upper middle class family, you have no idea how a hammer works and cannot change a flat tire. You question your sexuality daily and are currently trying to figure out how to not feel bad about watching tranny porn

Men have limited style options. Watches were jewelry that managed to become masculine because they're needed for masculine things like synchronizing solders in the military or diving. We're not getting rid of them because even if they're redundant, they're still not useless, and they look cool.

you cant dress for shit and look like every faggot Ive ever seen passed out over a toilet at 5 at the local dive bar

> I have the same life story and personality as every other cunt with the same watch

it's a sign of being an adult.

>I have autism and cant pick up on social cues as obvious as how people dress

>being literally weighed down by the time of day

You are exactly what's wrong with society.

A watch says a lot about a man. That one says he's autistic.

Should I wear undershirts with button ups?

Is your wrist that limp?

Yes

My granddad used to own a few signet rings, and would usually wear one. This is also acceptable.

Muh nigga

Yer a cool guy havin' a chill day.
It's like a suit. Prestige/serious or genuine charisma/fashion

I'll second this

>be doctor
>everyone else wears retardedly expensive watches with all those gizmos inside of them
>I dont

when I need a timer I look at wall clock or use my phone.

My friend gave me a watch during my first year of being an auxillary, he had it from his friend during his first year and his friend had it his first year.
>tfw people think I am poor because my watch is beat up and scratched, they do not know the suffering which is imbued within

Why is wearing a watch a sign of masculinity?

>tfw my gf loves when i fuck her with my rolex on

Jewelry for Men

is that supposed to be some kind of bait?

REAL MEN WEAR A WATCH

Watches are an accessory. You either buy a nice one, or you don't buy one at all.

>Pic related: the watch I only wear to work and church - except I use a tan leather band.

Unless you work in a highly secured area where phones aren't permitted. If it weren't for my watch, I'd hever know when to go to lunch.

Stupid fuck.

I freedive and spearfish. So i need a watch. Pic related. I also have g shock. Starting to prefer the gshock

Refurb it

*tips fedora*
fashion is for kids and class is for men, right?

You are a time traveler from 1992. You were shocked to learn how poorly Disney handled Doug, but like the direction that video games have taken despite the death of arcades.

I afforded an Apple Watch. AMA

Good choice.

I like the Timex Expedition because its cheap and simple. It doesn't look poor, but it doesn't look gaudy and try-hard either. I prefer leather bands to metal ones.

Watches only tell time...

>2016
>not owning a Suunto Vector because you[re a NEET faggot who doesn't leave the house

You should have two watches: a general purpose one for when you just need a watch and a 'dress' watch (usually silver or steel) for when you're wearing a suit/if you work wearing a suit

If you're a flash cunt, you can buy a gold one for the rare occasions you wear a black suit.

I wear a Mason ring. Is that acceptable?

Watches are comfy, if you get used to it you will miss the simple move to check the time instead getting out the phone minding which size they are today. Also watches are very good for cycling, so you can know when its time to speed up and when you can slow down.
this type of screen is stylish but shit for hiking, you need to catch angle and it gets competitive at semi-dark time of the day, even if you have automatic light on it.

Stop sperging, you fucking faggot.

It's a status symbol, I wear a G-shock during work and 90% of my watch wearing time to say that I actually fucking work.

When I go to dinner parties or work related gatherings I wear my TAG or my OMEGA

Owning a watch that costs more than 10$ is stupid. An expensive watch performs no additional function except pointing out your vanity and shallowness.
