The tv dorama was way better than the movie...except for the special,
The villian was the most glorious campy faggot in the story of campyness, he was great.

I'm watching through the drama right now.

I kinda like how it isn't just about Train Man and Hermes, and how everyone in the threads are also inspired by his efforts.

Makes me wonder how many anons out there had their lives change because of some greentext on /adv/ or something.

>villain
been awhile since I saw the drama, who was the villain?
the tv dorama was definitely better in many ways- especially giving the woman a reason that she fell in love with a dweeb. in the movie her character is just really boring. plus the ending was retarded.

Drama had the better girl

Keit-ai the Movie when?

Trains aren't important in western society

Then set it on a bus. Or either in New York or Chicago.

Buses and metro trains aren't fundamentally essential even in urban hubs, not in the way they are in Dainippon.

It's a cultural uniqueness which cannot EVER be ported. There are no 500-issue comic books about trains in NYC. There are no 50-iteration video game series about train management in Chicago.

Dude it's just how they meet. It's not like trains or any other public transportation are integral to the overarching plot.

The incident which sets off the plot can happen in any public place, they can write around that.

It's in the title, it's part of the hook. There are nuances you aren't grasping. I'm certain you aren't dainipponese or you would understand the subtleties. Setting Good Burger in a Nepalese yak milk parlor would significantly alter the premise. You just don't understand, and there's no hope for you.

>such a lust for Yous

>The nuances and subtleties of a story whose main hook is that the guy is getting advice from anons

Is he Light Yagami from Netflix Death Note?

Yes.

It's gonna be a fun ride.

A boy falls in love with a girl.

Unable to confess, he is gifted by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.

But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.

Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.

He found a way to ruin Sup Forums's best meme too.

Already a thing.

Light Yagami falls in love with L Lawliet.

Unable to confess, he is gifted by the shinigami Ryuk with the boy's phone number. The Desu No. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls him, and is overjoyed to find out that he has a crush on him as well.

But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the master detective, he only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the boy he called is not the same boy he fell in love with. In fact, he doesn't exist in this universe at all. He is L's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of his crush.

While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of JUSTICE.

The basic idea could be reworked into an American movie, but some things would be lost in translation. Densha Otoko had an impact on the way otaku were perceived in Japan, but America doesn't have otaku and being a "geek" today isn't such a big deal.

This. Also, trains don't matter

Call it Subway Man and set it in a Subway restaurant.

What if the guy wore a fedora and liked MLP.
