I don't know what is it about The Last Sacrifice that gets me good.

Will the new Netflix series be.. good?
Interesting point, what are some movies covered by MST3K that are actually decent?
>Deathstalker III
>Revenge of the Creature
>Danger: Diabolik
>This Island Earth
The Final Sacrifice
Overdrawn at the Memory Bank
Laserblast (Are you ready for some football?)
>camelface involvement
>good

Start with Mike the presenter, it's much better, then go back and watch Joel
It's just a show; you should really just relax
I actually really enjoyed Pumaman
Mike: haha look how funny I am
Joel: haha look how funny these movies are
nice
It's the complete opposite
mike era is much, much better than joel
i can watch ANY mike era episode and enjoy it whereas i can only watch a handful of the joel era episodes without falling asleep
touch of satan
wurwulf
space mutiny
Squirm
Hobgoblins
Alien Fugitive 2
I use to be like you. But then I realized how many gems you overlook by watching the Joel episodes.
"I LIKE IT VERY MUCH!"
Fugitive Alien
Any Gamera episode
Master Ninja
Amazing Colossal Man
War of the Amazing Colossal Beast
Santa Clause vs the Martians
Space Mutiny
Mike > Joel
killer shrews
Joel is funiner than Mike but Mike had better movies
Trace is far superior as Crow to Corbett
pre-Kevin Murphy Tom Servo is unwatchable
Anyone other than Trace and TV's Frank as the mads is a skippable opening
They covered some fun flicks during his time, but it doesnt change the fact that he always acted awkward as fuck on camera and spoke like he downed half a box of benedryl and washed it down with a 6pack of beer
Other way around. Joel constantly tried to shoehorn in his shitty prop comedy acts and was a bland third wheel in the riffing.
Screaming Skull
For Joel era it's Santa Claus conquers the Martians
For Mike it's Space Mutiny or The Creeping Terror
I watched 20min of the first episode and just couldn't take it - the commentary seemed so forced and cheesy, not even in the good way. Should I give it another try?
No. You should never watch it again and you should never post in a MST3K thread again.
Or you should kill yourself. Why the fuck do you think we care what you do?
The first episodes are dogshit that haven't aged well
Watch some of the ones recommended in the thread instead
the same reason you thought this post would be clever
Beast of Yucca Flats
Just for this short.
youtube.com
Hobgoblins and Space Mutiny are some of my favorite movies riffed.
This and Space Mutiny
This.
Don't judge it at least until we see their riffs. It took several seasons for Joel and co. To nail the format down in the early 1990s anyway.
I don't know if there is a "Best," there are many outstanding episodes.
But my favorite is The Final Sacrifice.
>the first episode
Come on, man.
A Date with your Family is great if you want something short but sweet
>A violent argument breaks out over who's day was more pleasant!
Watche reruns of MST3K with my dad when I was a kid.
Didn't realize Mike and Joel were different people, I thought his name was Joe.
Never even remembered Pearl Bobo and Brain Guy, thought the only lads were Dr. F and Tv's Frank.
Joel's stand-up comedy was exactly the same. That's just his shtick. I find the Joel episodes comfy, probably partly due to his sleep-inducing droning style of talking. I like a lot of Mike episodes too, even though I started watching during the Joel years.
Probably not.
10/10 post pham
Warrior of the lost world
Space mutiny
Hobgoblins
Hands: the hands of fate
Anything with Joe Don baker
I DON'T GET THE REFERENCES REEEEEEEEEEE
Seriously though, how do younger people/non-Americans watch some of these episodes, particularly Joel episodes? Half the jokes surely have to go right over your heads.
The Touch of Satan is actually the correct answer. Good for you.
Don't worry the new season will cater to your generation, full of gamergate and capeshit references
Cave Dwellers. It has lots of Keefe.
Boggy Creek II
SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM!
>Anything with Joe Don baker
Now I have the Mitchell theme song stuck in my head thanks.
>unassuming looking man walks across background
>"Herbert Svenkenmeyer: the early years!"
>robots all laugh
>mfw
hopefully it'll be better than
>actor comes on screen
> hey its (old obscure actor that no one under 35 knows)
>not knowing the guy from paper chase
Plen
Just assume they're D list actors from a failed 70's sitcom and you'll be right 2/3 times
>wakka chikka wakka chikka wakka chikka wakka chikka
this is probably why I tend to like the Mike episodes better. he's objectively funnier. the bots are better too.
MITCHELL...
MITCHELL!
I think it's really just a matter that the writing became increasingly better with each season. By the time 10 rolled around they'd perfected riffing to an art.
Had we gotten a Season 11 at that time, I suspect it would have been even funnier. But now it's going to be entirely different so I don't even know what we can expect this time around.
I dunno, some of the best stuff ever came from the Joel episodes. But I agree that a lot of Joel-era riffs are way more esoteric.
It's speedy delivery guy! And has he got a PACKAGE!

REEEEEEEEEEE
You can watch every episode on mst3kclub.com.
The better episodes have more than 3 stars.
There's also an assortement of episodes on Hulu if you have that.
I reccomend starting with some of the season 5-7 shorts to get a feel for the series in a short time span.
I'd recommend
Saw Werewolf last year with those YouTube annotations, peak comfy. Haven't really watched this otherwise, watched half of The Final Sacrifice and Legend of Boggy Creek because I heard they were best. Any recommendations?
I think their riffs on horrors are best, if that narrows it down
Is Squirm worth a watch? That flick's not awful, but don't they have to cut it to shreds for it to be TV-PG? Same question about The Incredible Melting Man, thought both were 18s gory
>Space MutinyFinal SacrificeMitchell
this mother fucker knows what's up
here are some "off the radar" episodes I rarely hear mentioned.
Devil Doll
Monster a Go-Go (worst movie ever made)
Devil Fish
Blood Waters of Dr Z
I gave them $600.... but no, it will not be good.... sadly
YouTube channel had an annotated Devil Fish and took it down for some reason, didn't get a chance to watch it
Zombie Nightmare
Final Sacrifice
Werewolf
Soultaker
Anybody know any other good Mike ones specifically?
Alright fine, I lurked. What fucking show is this?
I found the 12 year old
The Sword and the Dragon one of the best that no one has watched
>50 thousand Maria Von Trapps face off against the Mongol horde
Joel>Mike.
It is my hope that Jonah is at least as good as Mike.
Deathstalker IV for me.
MST3K
It's right there in OP's picture
Shit, that's III actually.

How the hell do you not know about Mystery Science Theater 3000? Did you not have Comedy Central in the 90s?
Best episode? That's complicated.
Best short? Easy
...
Hard Mode:
Best Riff?
Probably some limey fuck who didn't pay his tv license.
Larry Csonka!
Why aren't we collectively watching a few episodes?
Joe Don Baker is...MITTENS!
This lad's not wrong. Dunno if you anons were around for last week's Tales From The Crypt/ Goosebumps stream, but that shit was kino
>It was the third of September
>That day I'll always remember
None because the show isn't funny. I tried watching a few episodes and i just couldn't bear the dry humor. it's like watching a movie with that annoying kid from school who wouldn't shut up the whole time and kept making dumb comments through the whole time watching it. the references are outdated, the skits are just cringe and lame, the only saving grace was the cool set pieces but sadly that doesn't save the show from being painfully drab.
These are my three favourites as well. Maybe substitute Mitchell for Final Justice.
>the references are outdated
kys
>it's like watching a movie with that annoying kid from school who wouldn't shut up the whole time and kept making dumb comments through the whole time watching it
Do you even understand the concept of MST3K?
Kys twice.
*substitute Mitchell with Final Justice
