I actually rather like it tbqh

What aspect of it? Word flow? Pronounciation?

A little devilish, as if a man who speaks German is extreme wickedness.

Strange feeling.

Angry, crude Nazi speak.

What do you think about Swiss German?
youtube.com/watch?v=E3-UfPCubsE

Two world wars and one world cup

German is really strange. Here is a cute girl speaking about weather and it sounds like she is angrily shouting about killing everyone. Sorry, m8, but it's true.

did she swallow a frog? is she dutch? wtf?

That's what Swiss people sound like

>Swiss German
No difference for me.

-guy

I don't like how it sounds, but tough I don't speak it I know it's really practical when it comes to making words for ideas that doesn't exist.

ICH MEIN SEIN BRUDER HEIL HITLER BROTWURST
Something like that

I hesitate to talk about them since I only know one swiss german, but her accent is much better than yours, sorry lad

Doesn't make a significant impression on me.

If you were to chop the whole speech up into small, 2-5 second, pieces, some of them would sound like Italian, some like Arabic (or any other semitic language), and some like what I perceive as German.
Naturally, I don't speak any of those languages - it's just what comes to mind.
And no, it doesn't sound like Nazi speak or that she want's to kill someone, but those gutturals are not pleasing to my ear.

>it's really practical when it comes to making words for ideas that doesn't exist
So are Latin and its descendants.
What makes German better for this purpose?

I can't hear any difference between Swiss and regular German. Same harsh, angry guttural sounds.

German is probably the most underrated language, at least by my fellow countrymen.

Yeah, the sort of rhythmic word flow, some of the sounds like /yː/ (for instance spüren), all the long open vowels sound lovely. To me there's something almost romantic about it, in the broader sense of the word I mean.
Don't get me wrong, it can sound terrible depending on the speaker, but I think that's true of basically any language.

German is an aesthetich language 2bh
But not that swiss mongolian throat singing shit

One of the few languages I can't appreciate.

Sorry, German guys, but for me German language sound like this:

When I was in US, Americans thought that I am German and they told me that my Russian speech was like a German.

I suppose that the Russian language sounds rude to strangers too, right?

Russian sounds like fucking goblin speak bro

>I suppose that the Russian language sounds rude to strangers too, right?
Yes

Da

His italian pronunciation is extra cringy

S-so is yours!

someone speaking german sounds like that person has something stuck in his throat and at the same time he constantly trying to explain you something in a very angry manner

>When I was in US
you never been to the US

lel

I fucking bad know English, dude. I spoke there in Russian.

Ich hatte seit Sonntag keinen Samenerguss

>I fucking bad know English, dude.
kek

How was it for you not knowing English?
I've been to countries without knowing languages, its uncomfortable as fuck

Depends. It can sound uptight and arrogant. But the voices you hear in ww2 movies and games always sound distinguished. German snippets in link below sound really cool for example.
youtube.com/watch?v=BmuDwIqQvCQ

i dont know if i should click that video

It's just a music video made by a youtube artist.

>How was it for you not knowing English?
>I've been to countries without knowing languages, its uncomfortable as fuck

I'm just autist who visited relatives in the US and spoke only with my brother.

>spoke only with my brother.
but you just said a few posts ago that some american folks told you that your russian sounded like german. apparently your brother wasn't the only person you had a conversation with.

anyway you are obviously lying, you probably never even left your village and of course you never been to north america

breddy gay unironically

what does the Prussian dialect sound like?

Standard School-German sounds more formal, strict and poetical compared to Swiss.

Some dialects sound retarded.

shit
youtube.com/watch?v=LfqMwSi9dCY

sounds like German to me

German sounds masculine.
French sounds feminine.

I like it when it's spoken clearly and with conviction, but sometimes (maybe it's just certain dialects?) it can come across as being really airy and homosexual sounding.

bit meh really, don't see the whole angry nazi speech meme or consider it particularly pleasant either

it sounds like an ugly barbaric muttering, it's like the person who speaks it have something stuck in their throat

That chick just has a shit voice I reckon

it sounds very aggressive

>inb4 but french sounds gay xddddddd

always surprised how accurate this is

Harsh and arogant. Not that bad when you get to know it. Besides, devils in polish folk tales speak german.

>>>reddit

aesthetic

I grew up hearing it, so it just sounds like German to me. It's a nice language, but I find the words and phonology of West Germanic languages cozy in general

I like how your 'r' doesn't sound retarded like English. Also decent pronunciation overall, I like it

sounds like arabic

I'm an American living in Austria rn. I pretty much have to love it

Even though im a hardcore Germaboo, i find the language bit sharp and harsh desu
Doesnt flow nicely with so many sudden stops.

Italian is best for nice flowing bouncy speech

lad, austrians speak dötterlich. it's not quite German

Ja. Da hast du Recht. Ich glaube das stimmt.

Meh
It sounds a lot better when the speaker isn't monotone and emotionless

Mhhh... what do you think about this song and the singer's voice?
youtube.com/watch?v=jVMLjoNOm6w

Oh it's about Siegfried the dragon-slayer from the Nibelungenlied, an epic poem

very hard pronunciations
hard and soft pronunciations
what the fug
>sggllgglg lgggssslggg

gr8, now hes arrested for holocaust denial
;_;

do you understand what she is talking about? do you understand certain words?

Orc speech

i understood south and sun.
nothing else

do Germans act like dicks because they're actually really sensitive and hurt by the general dislike for them online?

Most germans dont visit international websites. If they do however, they stay in their german sections of YouTube, Facebook or other social media.

bump

Cool angry yelling
youtu.be/85bGxQjfENE

The asian-turk looking girl on the right sounds cute. The one on the left sounds like any other german. I've noticed it in other videos. Asians speak cuter german. Anyone pinpoint why?

youtube.com/watch?v=3BhyiPe2tZU

GER? ^^

do you know what he's saying?

German sounds nervous to me and I actually love it

yeah xD^^

It sounds very unique to me, always know it's German when I hear it

Not bad or good, just German

>A little devilish, as if a man who speaks German is extreme wickedness.
>that flag

FÜR DEN KAISEEEER

Nasty and angry

Like a distant dialect of danish, with annoying genders

Not quite that, they (or we) rather love being appreciated by other countries, that's it.

I come from a German family and it does sound nice for me

Honestly it sounds beautiful.

True for some of my friends.
We grow up thinking that the world is alright so it's a bit of a shock. They didn't even know about the whole pole or brits/american butthurt thing kek.

This kills the German student.
Honestly, theres not a lot that is worse than learning and training your ears for High German only to have to hear this.
But I think Stockholm syndrome is starting to take hold, because i'm slowly finding myself enjoying it. I like the way they say 'aber'. I'm still a little caught of guard every time they use a hard 'ch' though.

Like someone is gurgling gravel while uttering some crazy nazi moontalk.

It sounds clean and authoritative. but if I'm being honest my only exposure to language has been through movies and such lol.

Schwein schwein schwein aba das schwein schwein schwein, genau?

Your language is very vulgar.

>speaks portuguese

t. sveräsvöre smörepo sprädele sweredag römpömpöm

There are also nice songs in swiss german.

youtube.com/watch?v=I_I8HH2N_qQ

What? You just described Russian.
