As someone who read the book, the scene where Chloe Sevigny finds Bateman's little doodle book was fantastic. That tiny scene improves the movie quite a bit for me, it's a nice nod to the book readers, a "here's all the stuff we couldn't possibly show in a movie" in childish doodle form.
Also, Bateman killed Paul Allen / everyone, he didn't imagine anything. That's my personal theory anyway.
