For starters, It's the same God, the God of the Abrahamic religions. More over there are shitty people everywhere that will do shitty things for shitty reasons. As far as what that God wants, it's all make believe, you can make believe as people often do that God agrees with you 100% no matter what, and the other guy deserve whatever you do to him.
