I have no moral gripes against them but I find them antiaesthetic most of the times. I wouldn't get one myself. In women, I think in most cases they add nothing to an otherwise attractive chick and if something it makes them less attractive to me, specially if they have too many. I'd rather see their bare skin than some mediocre drawing. Don't care about them either way in men unless it's something ridiculous (ie dudes with face tattoos expecting me to take them seriously, I won't).

I agree with the impulsiveness and lack of longterm planning thing.
However for me I simply see the expense of it in a business. Some of our customers will like you less because you have tattoos. Older people also usually have more money and are the face of their businesses as well. I want what's in their wallet. If your tattoos hurt that then I'm less likely to hire you.
Think of it in the same way why you never see any 300 pound people in sales/marketing. Appearances matter.

But it's really rare when a person with tattoos has an aesthetic appearance (Id say X is such an exception).
It really depends on how original their tatts are and what meaning they have for the person... And most people are fucking unoriginal so there's that. personally I think I'll never get one. Most people really look so much better with just clear skin.

I already have my appointment with my artist and in 3 weeks I'll be done with my first sleev session (of the 4 it likely to take). Just don't get impulse tattoos and/or when you have no huge displosable income. It will be on you forever no matter what, laser can only do so much. I'll have to fly to London for my first ink and I am 30, I have the means and the maturity I hope that I will not change so much I would find my sleeve bad in however many years.
If you decide on getting a tattoo, just start researching styles, artists and stories of people with tattoos (you can learn wastly new perspectives you didnt consider before). Then when you have an idea, put that idea away and return in half a year or a year later and see if you still like it. You don't need to rush it, make sure you get the best one that you can or none.
