Why is this thread so barren?

It's around 8:30 AM here. Most SEAfags are still asleep. Activity is usually in the afternoon and evening.

That, and /asean/ aka /nusantara/ has been rather moribund for months now.

The effects of evil Chinese century

There aren't many of us to begin with.

We're not NEET autists like Westerners or Japs who have active generals 24/7.

Why is it overseas flashing your headlights means "I'm allowing you to change/merge" but over here it means "I'm going to speed up so don't try to change/merge"?

But today is Saturday

Sometimes when traffic lights turn yellow as I approach them, I flash my fullbrights once or twice to let people know I'm biting the bullet and passing through.

I use it for both like the asshole I am :^)

youtube.com/watch?v=Y1DtTOLuIa8

why is this such a big deal?

Freedom of speech in Malaysia is more limited compared to over here.

Indonesians can be too zealous on "protecting their own heritage" because of their hyperactive nationalism (never mind the fact the cultures have always existed even before Indonesia was even a thing in 1945). This is moreso with historical events like Sukarno declaring war on Malaysia when it was formed in 1963 because he drank the "anti-neocolonialism" kool-aid (long story)...

How do you ASEANfags feel about financing the infrastructure of the CLVM

I had a dream last night,
>traveled to one of the arab country
>once there, found out that the country was in war with america, saw many corpses
>tried to get out of the country, but couldn't because a new wave of bombardment had started
>ran the fuck out of my life, found a small number (4-5 people) of malaysian army
>they got killed by american troops, I was saved because I hid in some of the debris
>after a while, I found a post that looked like indonesian because of the words on the wall
>it's true. there was a single Indonesian soldier inside
>he said that he's been in that country for a long time. Want to get back home but couldn't because of any flight outside was blocked
>he told me that this area was safe, because it was in the area of China's embassy
>he also said that China had been kind to him, always give food, aid, and help
...and then I woke up

What does my dream mean, /asean/?

What is CLVM?

submit your boipucci to Mr. Lim and good fortune will come to you for 7 generations

>"Hey user, can you make some hard-boiled eggs for me?"
>"Sure"
>*use the smallest pot, overflows the pot, uses cracked eggs*
>the end result being 2 soft-boiled eggs and 1 poached egg
Can't fucking believe meself

Also fuck my genes for sweating so much doing so little
>stand there for 10mins cutting ingredients
>sweat drops from my forehead, feel sweat on my back, sweat gets onto my glasses

Eh, experience user. The hardest part of cooking is buying the ingredients.

Why tho. Hard boiled is easy. If anything it's soft boiled that's hard. I always overcooked and becomes hard boiled.

>Malaysian army is behind Marawi
>Behind every terror attack in SEA
>Behind all the pirate attacks too
>now in dreamland too
You guys need to tone down the Malaysian special forces boogeyman a bit.

Sorry, CLMV.
Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam

>Laos
You'll trigger someone.

Seriously though we're generally supportive these days. Vietnam is one of our allies, and everyone here is supporting's Myanmar's democratization efforts.

What do you guys thing about the situation with the Rohingya in Myannmar?

Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam - Already did with road projects and such, no problem as long as they are being transparent and keep our engineers safe.
Myanmar - Our investigators are not given access or travel across the country to see how the money is being used, they are trying to shove all ethnic minority on us and building insane project like a 20 lane highway ghost city.
Why on earth would someone build an empty looking city with roads big enough to land an airliner?

I haven't heard of this
What's the ghost city called? Or where is it? This piqued my interest

Naypyidaw, Myanmar's capital. The government moved there from Yangon back in 2005, supposedly due to it being in a more centrally-located location.

>Why on earth would someone build an empty looking city with roads big enough to land an airliner?
Burma is in contact with ayy lmaos

Holy shit, this is crazy.
Fucking why? It's like the DPRK

>an empty looking city with roads big enough to land an airliner?
Read somewhere that was actually kind of the point: rumors are that those roads double as emergency airfields. Remember that Myanmar was still a socialist dictatorship when the city was built.

Their previous leader, Yhan Shwe, built the whole city based on fortune teller's advice. Not even joking, here's the source:

bbc.com/news/world-asia-41224643

LMAOOOOO Jesus. This is gold

Sad thing is that that's not even the craziest thing that ever happened there. One of their previous dictators, Ne Win, made them drive on the right instead of the left because an astrologer told him he was leaning too left politically. He also changed the values of the nation's currency based on his lucky numbers, and he allegedly bathed in dolphin blood because he believed it would make him live longer (oddly enough he lived to his nineties).

Towel on your back and a bandana in your head.
Don’t make your life complicated, chef-kun.

This is amazing...
It's like.. pure lunacy

Been that way since the junta took over, they have been purging ethnic minorities and building crazy stuff in an autistic attempt to rebuild an ethnically pure kingdom like their glorious past before their defeat at the hands of Siam and Anglos.
Bongs traumatised them so hard they went over the edge.

As much as I really envy Indonesian media freedom, it comes at the cost of more sensationalist coverage by some of the press, especially online. Heck, I go to default incognito YouTube and the Trending page is occassionally swarmed with paranormal and religious clickbait videos (you can clearly tell the source from the language used in the title)...

dubs confirm ASEAN war dream from the future

Can't be as bad as the fake news here. Fucking hate it when they show up on my recommendations list even if I'm watching a video that's not related to politics at all.

But everyone already knows the French were ayy all along, they even have a jupiterian for president.
Try having your whatsapp group spammed with ' Malaysia bankrupt by 2020 vote PH now to save Malaysia stop kleptocracy' with ridiculous sources all the damn time.

Stay out of my country you fucking weebs

>'Malaysia bankrupt by 2020 vote PH now to save Malaysia stop kleptocracy'
wtf is this? Is it for real?

Can you speak Minangese? Is it similar from the one in West Sumatra?

>ASEAN war
But why would Americans go around shooting Malaysia when the chinese embassy goes untouched?
Yeah, oppositionfags can't keep their opinion to themselves and spam everything on the whatapp groups for political gains, just look at Lowyat kopitiam site for the kind of zombies I have on my contact list.
In 2014 flood someone even spammed a picture of drowned flood victim from Vietnam if I'm not mistaken and claiming that BN govt failed and that entire villages have drowned with hundreds of casualties all over the country. Police arrested the school teacher for spreading false rumor to
cause panic during a disaster even though actually only 14 died from the worst flood in 100 years.

>not appreciating AFA
>not being honored to be the first foreign country visited by ClariS
>missing out on the biggest anime event outside Japan
Singaporeans need to appreciate what they have.

>' Malaysia bankrupt by 2020 vote PH now to save Malaysia stop kleptocracy'
Wait what?

>Macron
Funny, my house has some French magazines given to us by our French relatives a few years ago, and Macron is on the cover.

how bad is the fearmongering in Malaysian politics Malaysianon? Have they reached retarded levels

a tagalog near me said "we were never subjugated under Spain so I refuse to be called a Filipino"
kek

>things that never happened

thats actually bisayans or the aetas igorots in the north seriously

really sad tho especially for the bisayans who were the first ones to get cucked by spics
despite lapulapu

>Have they reached retarded levels
Lets see
>BN was paying terrorists to kindap malaysians so that they can pay ransom to the terrorists
>The 2013 Sultan Kiram fight with the Malaysian armed forces was staged, everyone in it were paid mercenaries
>Najib is the biggest baddest evil thief in the world who personally stole RM42 billion in cash from the Central Bank, Najib also bribed Trump, the American DOJ to stall 1MDB, bombed Mongolian, bought 3 submarines with the price of 2, behind every terror attack, tens of thousands have fled his reign of terror to overseas, planning on bringing the entire Bangladesh here.
>By 2020 Malaysians would be maids and toilet cleaners in Philippines with the country being 100x Greece bankrupt, ISIS running amok on the streets, chinese beheaded and the army murdering civilians
>Malaysia is number one in corruption, everyone around the world is talking about how Najib robbed everyone and their mom.
>People are starving and dying on the streets from 6% GST
Just look at Sarawak Report, Lowyat Kopitiam, Free Malaysia Today or Malaysiakini for the lunacy of it all.
Vote DAP, we will abolish GST so that our friends can cheat tax again, free healthcare, free toll, free education, fuel subsidies and free everything with magic money from the heavens!

>Malaysians actually think they'll become poorer than the Philippines
Seriously? I know Najib has his problems but I can see why he's still around if the opposition isn't much better.

Or the Muslim terrorist

those two seems to integrate very well imo

Also look up Tony Pua in the goole news section for maximum fear mongering.
>Oxford graduate
>All his arguments are just basic arithmetic, no consideration on fixed cost, setup, overhead cost, or economic of scale whatsoever.
>Called this thing a goddamned truck
>I don't know a thing about ship class but I'm gonna go muh corruption anyway
>Wrote a book about corruption and wrong military purchase then put F-16 and Apache on the cover which doesn't exist in inventory.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Pua
Also known as Tony Puaka
You see, all their life Malaysians are pampered living life on subsidies, govt padding life expenses like bills, education and healthcare so when Jibby did a much needed reform since these stuff are no longer economical they are going hysterical about how we live worse life than Nigerians.

Maybe AFA MY 2012 losing money was a bad omen. Apparently around the time it took place there were loads of anti-Najib rallies.

Also, what happened? I thought Malaysia's economy was doing well these

>Can you speak Minangese? Is it similar from the one in West Sumatra?

Nah. Minang did influence the dialect spoken in Negri Sembilan, but said dialect is still considered a Malay variant. I can certainly understand most of for example, but not all of it in its entirety: e.g the Negri folk use the Malay "satu" instead of "ciek" for "1". My maternal family (that I'm really close too compared to my Malaccan paternal side) still uses the dialect in their family speech and WhatsApp group chat, so that helps.

The Minang settlers had intermingled with the local Malay and Orang Asal population over the years anyway, so the Negri folk aren't wholly pure Minang anymore...but the adat and traditions (music, dance etc) still mirror original Ranah ones AFAIK. Think of it like how the Appalachian culture came from the interaction of settlers from British Isles - Enlgish, Irish etc - with the occassional Native influence mixed in?

Its doing okay, Pengerang petrochemical plant in Johor is operating pretty well with fresh graduates earning USD2k/month starting, a shipping company just made the shift from Singapore to Malaysian port, next month a billion dollar German semiconductor will be opened with thousands of jobs, Kedah is getting investment everywhere with a billion already channeled to expand the industrial facilities, IKEA announced Malaysia to be their logistic hub with RM900million investment and assorted good news and opportunity for those who look but since election is next year everything is spinned into 'Doomsday is coming, flee Malaysia now!' even as people are getting fat from too much burgers all around.

Asean wars cancelled.

not sure if this is 90's

but its the one who introduced me to Trannies and Rape

Hmmm, I guess my lecturer had a point when he mentioned how Malayization and racial segregation in Malaysia has homogenized the local ethnics there. He also said that how Minang, Bugis, Banjar, etc have completely forgot their ethnic roots and prefer to be called Melayu, this is according to his observation anyway.

Why is SEA full of weebs? It's like every country in this region is infested with them.

The point is that Malaysia isn't as ethnically diverged as Indonesia, lumping every non Chinese here as "Pribumi" will surely be met with public derision because Pancasila and stuff. Then again, this can be the result of Brits vs Dutch colonialism.

candy candy, dragon ball, chibi maruko chan, kobo chan, card captor sakura, sailor moon, let's and go, digimon, beyblade, monster farm, ninja boy, ninja hatori, p-man, saint saiya, samurai x, captain tsubasa, shin chan, kurochan, conan, dr slump, kitaro, gundam, initial d, hamtaro, inuyasha, crush gear, kinikuman.

I remember grills learning to shlick the first time with this anime and Weiss Kreuz.

Also AXN's Ceres: Celestial Boogaloo.

I only watched Curious Play on GMA7 because Pokemon was after.

Man the late 90s were the GOAT in anime, that one time where disgusting katulong soaps were far away from my TV.

Mondays had Jigoku Sensei Nube
Tuesdays had Ranma and Trigun
Wednesdays had Master of Mosquiton and Ah My Goddess
Thursdays had Bakuretsu Hunters and Lupin the 3rd
Fridays had Curious Play, Escaflowne and Pokemon

That does not even account for the 4pm afternoon /m/ shows that had ABS-CBN showing NGE (disgusting dubbed) and GMA with Gendum Wing, G and X. Pretty sure they rerun Voltes V, Daimos, Mazinger Z, Grendizer and Combattler V for the 9000th time.

Then there's also random shit like Magic Knight Rayearth, Mojacko, Virtua Fighter, Slam Dunk, Flame of Recca, HxH, Bubblegum Crisis, Let's & Go, Detective Conan, Initial D, Gatekeepers and GiTS among others.

ABS-CBN were no pushovers either since they had CCS, Bt'X, Zenki, Nadia: Blue Water Boogaloo, Yaiba, Slayers, Inuyasha, Macross and Robotech, Raijin-Oh, Digimon, Golion and Voltron, Rurouni Kenshin, Tenchi Muyo and Saber Marionette.

AXN had You're Under Arrest, Vandread, Galaxy Angels, Sakura Taisen, Rave Master and subbed versions of animaymays above.
