Reminder you are currently witnessing one of the greatest redemption stories ever told

If he wins the Owl this WILL be the greatest redemption story in sports history

doesn't he hold most tds in a game too? or something else fucking bizzare?

Can someone explain why/context? I don't follow handegg

tied for most TDs in a game with Peyton Manning who also got the record in the same season (2013).

Tied, but yeah. And third in single-season passer rating.

They're just going to discard him like a piece of trash for Wentz no matter the outcome, not really that nice of a story

/ourguy/

You know, I actually don't remember how we got to this point.

Muh Philadelphia!

>had one goat season then was shuffled around NFL teams and played backup
>returned to iggles to be backup to the most hyped QB of the season (wentz)
>wentz gets hurt
>everyone assumes the season is done
>foles plays a few horrible games
>playoffs start and everyone assumes eagles are done
>foles plays like shit for first half of falcons game, then switches on
>beats falcons
>everyone assumes it was a fluke and the vikings would dismantle the eagles
>foles puts up 38 points
>leads team to superbowl as a backup qb
>is about to face the literal greatest QB of all time

Reminder: Greased Poles do not stop Philly denizens.....

>they thought mere cisco could stop us

EDP?

Put a shirt on EDP445!

Played for the Eagles and had an amazing season, but lost in the playoffs. After that season he fell off big time and was traded to the Rams. Was trash with the Rams, cut and then played back up for the Chiefs, and written off and told he didn't have a chance when he had to step in again for the Eagles. Now's he's in the process of proving everyone wrong and finishing what he started years ago

we all knew foles could play

clown GMs wouldnt start him

If Foles wins the Bowl, some team will give him a 10 to 15 million dollar payday for next year. Even if he doesn't, maybe...

>carrying the team that cast you aside and shit all over you to an owl
Foles has to tank this thing or he will be the biggest cuck of all time by far

I don't know why people consider him trash. He suffered after chip went full retard with the team and then he got Jeff Fishered. He never was a bad qb. Even in his first playoff game he played really well the saints lucked out that game.

Foles got fucked by Chip Kelly struggling to win games with his batship crazy meme system. He was traded to the Rams with a nonexistent receiving corps and coaching staff that was completely incompetent. He was never bad, played well enough in Philly, but was dealt a shit hand by the league. I hope he blows the fuck out of the Pats.

Getting Fished is bad (STL guy here), but... Keenum, Bradford, and Foles were all his guys at one point..

>shows potential to be a truly great qb
>gets injured or thrown under the bus by every team he played for including philly
>face through great adversity and is now one win away from a ring

feel good story of the year

dont forget goff breh

Jeff Fisher knows how to pick QBs he just doesn't know how to use them.

Foles would actually fit in well on a team like Miami or Arizona.

2016 matt ryan was all about redemption

This wont be any different, pats sixposting begins now.

Arizona loves to give away the farm for QBs. If Foles wins the owl, Arizona will give up first rounds picks for him.

Like I said, STL user, I quit following when they moved to LA, but I'll give it to him; Gurley and a good part of that defense too (and Long's boy).

Big field open for him... This Foles guy tho... might actually know what loyalty is and take a pay cut to play backup...

He went to the fucking Pro Bowl one year. Case Keenum and him were fucking awful literally only because their coach was Jeff Fischer.

...might be worth it, to be sure Wentz isn't a Bradford... Made of Glass.

oh you're that raiders fag. what's up illu

This.

He's actually terrible at coaching offense in general. He had a hall of fame talent in Eddie George & incredible QB in Steve McNair and managed to keep Eddie George under 4 ypc every year and held Steve McNair back from multiple MVP titles because he doesn't know how to call a passing offense.

No. I'm not a follower of the Raiders, so... No Idea. I'm a disgruntled stl fan with no team.

He would gladly be a back-up or he will retire completely

my bad. i hope that the wentz-goff broship goes deep

clown jeff fisher hung him out to dry

EDP wishes he was that fit

we are, and he's about to get his 6th [SIXTH] ring
absolutely unbelievable

Well, Arizona is a spot I would assume he would like to play. He did play and graduate from U of A, which would put me in weird spot as someone who is a Cardinals fan and graduated from ASU.

>discard him like a piece of trash
that's not true at all
if he wants to stick around as a backup, they'll have him
but he will want to go somewhere and play, and someone will give the eagles a huge trade package if he wins the owl
getting picks back for your backup qb isn't exactly "discarding him like a piece of trash"

Discard? He was contemplating retirement before signing to be Wentz's backup.
If anything, it would be mutual.

Most of Twitter is inexplicably trashing Chip after this win ... which doesn't make sense. Most of the current roster (aside from Ajayi and Darby) has ties to him and even Blount was his RB at Oregon. Everyone can pretend that Roseman is a mastermind but in reality Chip built up a major chunk of this team, and when Reich started playing them in a sort-of up-tempo, they thrash people.

>Most of Twitter is inexplicably trashing Chip after this win
Dude, its Philadelphia. It's like a given they can and will trash talk their own team any given day.

this is 100% bait, no one fall for it

I agree. I don't think Chip was given a long enough period to adjust to the rest of the League adjusting to him. Vick...

Doug's playcalling for Foles in the playoffs have had a lot of concepts that worked for him when Chip was HC.

He's a backup but had good games, which means he was treated unfairly.

he is the hero we need but don't deserve

Chip got rid of any and all offensive talent that we had on the team and set it back.

Who?

Lesean McCoy
Desean Jackson
Jeremy Maclin
Foles after he got injured

He made room for Wentz.

I am neither an Eagles fan nor a Chip Kelly fan, but my post was made in total honesty. He made mistakes, sure, but Shady McCoy has done little outside of Philly except for a few games, Jordan Matthews was mediocre (the trade for Darby was an excellent one ... but would have been unnecessary if Howie never chucked Eric Rowe to the curb).

Agholor took some time. Ertz and Burton are Chip guys. Howie signed Jeffrey and Torrey Smith ... who FUCKING PLAYED for Chip in Frisco.

Ya, some good names there... Salary Cap? I'm sure they wanted good paydays. Chip was adjusting...

Chip Kelly and Jeff Fisher will do that

had a brilliant season early in his career. for his trouble, he got traded to a QB-killing team... which nearly killed his career. spent the next few years bouncing around on various benches. contemplated retiring. took one last job for his old team, playing for a new coach, backing up a young star who is supposed to be the future of the franchise.

and then the star got injured.

tonight on 30 for 30: BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGON - THE NICK FOLES STORY

i still cant believe it desu

>shady has done little outside of philly
that's false, mccoy has been great in buffalo
>lumping torrey smith in with alshon
torrey has been fucking terrible this year. he had a decent game today but also dropped yet another long pass

You're seriously implying that Eric Rowe would have contributed to the roster? Have you seen Eric Rowe playing for the Eagles? Get outta here. You're one of those fools who would have made the argument that Brandon Boykin's trade would be the death knell for the defense.

He has a couple guys, Malcolm Jenkins, Lane Johnson, ertz ect. Hell there are still alot guys from the Andy Reid era contributing

Patrick Chung and Eric Rowe are fantastic players in Bill's system. And no, I did not give a shit about Brandon Boykin's trade

Yeah same fucking eric rowe that is playing in this year superbowl, faggot

Belichick churns blood out of stone. A player succeeding in his system means nothing.

Also, Rowe played less than 25% of defensive snaps this year. WTF are you on?

>A player succeeding in his system means nothing.

So Brady isn't a Hall of Famer without him. Okay.

Fuck. I hate the eagles so much but this Foles guy is something else.

>all the "you are here" threads about Bortles
>ends with him in tears after his failures were the deciding factor in a very close game
Same thing will happen here. I don't believe any of the hype and nothing's going to stop that scumbag Belicheck from winning yet another superbowl as the refs cheer him on.

Maybe...

but it's Soo close. One game. That's all it takes. Fuck

Chip's offense is a gimmick and only works until teams figure out how to defend it. He has no value as an NFL coach anymore. Had 1.5 good offensive seasons then sucked

>its another pats face a perennial choker and will win the super bowl in some bullshit fashion episode

i think im done with this rigged shit

There's pretty much no chance that he's going to get Wentz's job even if they do win, right? So what the hell are the Eagles going to do with him once Wentz comes back, trade?

He wants to start. Before he was planning to retired.

Win or lose he would be traded for some nice picks to a team maybe like Arizona

I get hating the patriots, I get memeing about "chetriots," I get it.

But if you think today's game was actually refball, you're probably retarded.

1 penalty

For 10 yards. Get your bitch ass out of here if you're saying there wasn't any fishy business going on

Pats played a clean game. Jags were literally gifted a fumble; why wouldn't that have been overturned?

If he wins the Vin Lombowski does he gonna get a 30 4 30 by from Espn?

The ball was coming loose before he was down.

And bullshit on it being clean. I watched the game and the Pats secondary was grabbing all over the Jags receivers and committing PI and shit, but the Jags even look at a Patriots recover they get flagged. It was as one sided as it gets.

b-but u mad!!! 6(six) rings!!

2 declined penalties as well

Why do they climb though?

>might actually know what loyalty is and take a pay cut to play backup
No he won't if he has the chance to start. And the Eagles will be happy for him if he does

Mcnair was never THAT good stop exaggerating

About how Tom overcame an illegitimate scathing from Roger "Hook nose" Goodgoy and won back to backs? Yeah I'm witness.

>He would gladly be a back-up or he will retire completely
why would he retire if he wins the owl? it would multiply his earning power by 10. all kinds of teams would have interest in him.

use your head

Ertz is not a chip guy

It was Chip who cast him aside. Eagles made it up to Foles and signed him back.

this. Chip got figured out and exposed fairly early on.

Rowe didn't do shit this year..

>Air McNair was never that good
Kys

McNair could air out the ball but it wouldn't consistently go to the player you would hope it would.

At best McNair was a good quarterback.

Average monkey behavior

>Everyone can pretend that Roseman is a mastermind but in reality Chip built up a major chunk of this team

Um, no. Chip coached from 2013-2015. The only starters left from those years are Lane Johnson, Zach Ertz, and Agholor. Johnson and Ertz were drafted in 2013 while Roseman was still Director of Personnel. Agholor was drafted in 2015 and was practically a nonfactor until Chip left.

Once Chip was gone and Howie was back, he cleaned house from the Chip era. Demarco Murray was traded for a 4th rounder, and Bradford was traded for the 8th pick. Those 2 picks were bundled to trade up for Wentz. Malcolm Jenkins was a Roseman signing.

This year, Roseman signed Blount and Torrey Smith. Their connections to Chip Kelly dating back to nearly a decade in college and his brief stint with the Niners owe little success to Chip. Oh, and Riley Cooper is gone.

Meanwhile Rosen signed Chris Long, Torrey Smith, Foles, Alshon Jeffery, and Jay Ajayi.

We don't really owe much to Chip at all..

This is not the right take on the Chip story bruhs. Chip Kelly failed at talent evaluation and GM responsibilities, not as a playcaller. His offense stopped working because he got rid of a lot of the good players on offense for meme college weapons that dropped the ball constantly. The Eagles offense actually could have been decent in 2014-15 if they didn't have a "literally who" group of receivers that dropped the ball constantly.

Kek not that interesting

Did Foles hurt his ribs yesterday?

When you put it like that...
it's not really that impressive tbqh

What about kelce and Peters??

he's stated before that he doesn't really want to play football anymore
