Why does their language exist? No one else in the world speaks it or gives a shit about it...

Why does their language exist? No one else in the world speaks it or gives a shit about it. Why not speak French or Spanish?

>muh identity

They're irrelevant like people who speak Nahuatl in Mexico.

You guys are wrong and stupid. Catalan is an important and living language. Get your heads out of your asses. If you live in Catalonia and you're not a Manolo scrubbing floors and toilets you need it to advance in society.

Lol they can’t be that irrelevant

Spain didnt do homogenization that France and other countries did, but that's fine all Iberia should speak language of Iberian ancestor.

Catalan has no reason to exist. They're all forced to learn Spanish.
No one in Cataluña but uneducated people speaks only Catalan.

>Spanish has no reason to exist. They're all forced to learn English. No one in Mexico but uneducated people speaks only Spanish.

Mexican subhuman

They're forced to learn English in Spain too you imbecile Amerilard

>go on board about international culture to complain about culture existing
sage

That's his point. The existence of (or requirement to learn) a different language with a greater number of native speakers doesn't make another language irrelevant.

More ethnic nationalist crap that has to be stopped

Jesus fucking Christ. This fucked again.

fuck you english

>French
Our language is unfortunately spoken by monkeys under the Sahara, we don't want that Scatalonians speak it too.

No it isn't, less than one percent of Mexicans speak Nahuatl as a mother tongue, there is only 1.7 million Nahuatl speakers in the world (and that's including pretty different varieties as Tatóscac Nahuatl, Mecayapan Nahuatl, Cuaohueyalta Nahuatl, etc., actually Nahuatl languages differ more than Romance languages, they even have different ISO-639 codes, but that's a story for another time). Meanwhile, according to the Special Eurobarometer 386, Catalan is spoken as a mother tongue by 3.750 million people + 5.150 as an additional language in Spain alone, in total it is estimated that around 9.2 million people speak Catalan in the world, that's more people than Bulgarian (8 million), Croatian (6.5), Danish (5.5), Estonian (1.2), Finnish (5.7), Irish (1.2), Latvian (2.0), Lithuanian (3.0), Maltese (0.4), Slovakian (6.8) and Slovenian (2.1), all of which are official in the European Union, besides it is an official language together with Spanish in Catalonia Autonomous Community, Balearic Islands, Valencia Autonomous Community (where it's called Valencian) and some places in the Aragon Autonomous Community (where it's called Eastern Aragonese or Lapao) and after 2006 Catalan (together with Galician and Basque) basically became a semi-official language of the European Union, on top of that Catalan is the only official and national language of the Principality of Andorra, even though French and Spanish are widely spoken and are de facto working languages as well, they don't reach the same status as Catalan in that country, Catalan has even been spoken in the General Assembly of the UN by representatives of Andorra

also pic related are the areas were catalan is spoken
not even a jordi
jesus you're so fucking dumb, i knew i would see this flag

Kill yourself

Spanish is a subhuman language

and what exactly gives a language the right to exist?

t. Tizoc

The cuckoldry is strong in this indian

t. Criollo

>Why does their language exist?
Basically for the same reason why lamguages such as Portuguese, Romanian or Venetian exist

why do americans exist

Are Basque and Galician not popular enough?
What about Occitan in France?

The willingness of the people to use it.

They speak Spanish. It's like California calling their language "Californian" and pretending to be a nation.

...or Swedes pretending to speak Swedish when they're in fact just Danes, amirite?

No, that would be Portugal.

Catalan is also spoken in the border between aragon and catalonia, andorra, in the border between france and catalonia (from andorra to the coast) and in a city in sardinia.
