Are You Afraid of the Dark was better

>dad doesn't believe the hero

as a kid this was my go to show to watch after school , might give it a rewatch for nostalgia

youtube.com/watch?v=gXiYpfR-cRE

The sister's always a cunt in kids' adventure books.

>it's a the protag kid's actually the real dipshit all along

Anyone remember the christmas one?

...

Tbh I read the books only, too old for the shows

Chucky was creepy as shit

This was the first (and last) book I ever read that I couldn't put down. I remember reading it while taking a shit at my grandparents house when I was like 9 or so.

My enthusiasm for reading waned since then, mostly cause everything sucks.

Why did the dog spook me so much?

>The neighbor is rude

>There's a wise old black guy

>the wise old black guy is an evil spirit in disguise

The original book (maybe #7) had a picture of Slappy that scared the shit out of me. I hid the book in my parent's dresser at night because I thought he'd come out of the book and kill me.

>brother and sister get along well and are best buds
Guess which one.

Which episode was that dog even in?

My hairiest adventure

Anyone know where the stream is? I liked that friend simulator

Posting Top 5 Goosebumps Kino

5. The Horror at Camp Jellyjam

4. Welcome to Dead House

I either read that or looked a the cover a whole lot...

If I go back and read these now I wonder if they're enjoyable

3. Beast from the East

2. One Day at Horrorland

They arn't scary anymore, but if you can be entertained by kid level prose they are fun little pulpy shorts. Almost like cheesy 50's monster movies but set in the 90's

As a kid I remember that RL Stein used the word "exclaim(ed)" like 1000 times

I started using it in English I remember, and it just seemed so forced

Even now nobody uses the word exclaimed for anything

Ryan Gosling

My autism won't let me leave until I see your #1 so hurry up already.

And the indisputable GOAT

1. The Cuckoo Clock of Doom

Honorable mentions:
The Haunted Mask
Monster Blood
Night of the Living Dummy II
The Ghost Next Door
The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb
It Came From Beneath the Sink
Say Cheese and Die!

He likes that word, i'm also convinced he likes little girls.

If you want an adult level Goosebumps style book, read the books of William Sleator (Singularity, Interstellar Pig, The Boy Who Reversed Himself, House of Stairs, The Green Futures of Tycho) and Steven King's IT

Awful taste user. Ghost Beach was the only one that legitimately scared me as a kid so it gets de facto GOAT status.

t. brainlet

ive got a law degree and a masters in economics

fiction sucks and is useless

I miss those "horror for kids" shows.

The fuck happened to that genre, anyway?

That was the last grasp at getting people to read

Kids now just read instagram and snapchat pictures

I can't wait to employee this generation of forever serfs. Imagine how dumb they're going to be. So easy to manipulate and take money from.

>Muh nostalgia determines my rankings

Ghost Beach is OK, but it's just a weaker Welcome to Dead House.

Goosebumps isn't meant to be scary

>it's a cliffhanger chapter

creepypastas have become popular amongst normies lately
it could work

GOAT Goosebumps TV episode right here

could you possibly be more plebeian?

children are total pussies nowadays

Can confirm.
11 year old cousin can't play Minecraft in survival because he's scared of cave spiders.

wrong

STEAM WHERE!?!?

Fuck me, Horror land was the tits. They had a choose your own adventure one too didn't they? I remember, if you were losing the wizard would offer you the chance to quit while you're ahead

Turn to that page and he'd say you're not ahead, then vanish you from the neck down, making you literally a head

you should make him play one of the Metro games

I only read the choose your own adventures, I had most of them. This one was by far my favorite

The OG and the best

Real nigga Goosbumper CYOA report in

My dad bought them for me. I had no idea why. I didn't find them enjoyable, really. I found Horrible Histories/Science/Whatever way more enjoyable. The live action tv show the BBC did was also cool.

The Girl Who Cried Monster fucked me up. GOAT ending.

Untrue. The internet has just exposed people to way more creepy shit. Creepypasta's are a massively popular thing. So popular that shitty spin-off formed, SCP, which got ruined by OC shit. Still some cool stuff in there. Like the basketball game.

Were you just sitting on the toilet for hours? How'd you even stand up afterwards

With difficulty.

If I'm reading something good on the toilet, I just stay there as long as I want with my pants down. It's cozy, comfy and private, and I can just shit and piss whenever I want.

>reading it before i take a shit
>reading it during the shit
>reading it after the shit

it wasnt very complicated, i just remember it being the only time id had a desire to keep reading some story

Yeah I miss em too. Pic related was the shit

Scariest episode right here. Gave my goose many bumps.

>watch goosebumps with bro on netflix all the time
>always charmed by the cliches, the bad acting, the pre-9/11 america atmosphere, and trying to guess what the twist will be
>that episode with the dead town
>girl just wants to be her friend
>please, please just die and join us so I can be your friend, I have no friends
>obviously that won't happen but she doesn't even get a resolution or anything
>and then a dog dies

thank r.l stine

My favorite episode wasn't even horror.

Good taste

I'm feeling a goosebumps stream later bros, ill try and get on it

Same dude

This thread is giving me nostalgia feels I wasn't expecting

i have the VAGUEST memory of this. Was he a tv character brought to life?

This one is in my top 5

We need this.

Comic Book characters, yeah.

Featuring Adam West as the Galloping Gazelle.

This.

>A Night in Terror Tower not in honorable mentions

...

Are You Afraid of the Dark had better stories, but Goosebumps had better production and acting.

>i want to fuck the sister and eat her cunt and cum in her cunt hair

pretty metal artwork desu

>>

ARF ARF ARF ARF ARF

is lit gonna teach me how to enjoy crap? maybe i just dont like reading fiction?

Bumping great thread.

Post more GOAT endings.

>Are You Afraid of the Dark had better stories
Yes.

>but Goosebumps had better production and acting
No.

Horrorland is awesome man

Yeah, the Give Yourself Goosebumps are cool, can I get a few more recs?

Great ending, the rest wasn't amazing, I think The Ghost Next Door does it better.

Please do.

Not bad

haven't read since I was a kid, picked up

The cover art for these books is incredible. I wish there was a place to view HR versions.

I think most of the time I picked the book based on the cover. RL Stein jewed me hard, then jewed me extra hard by imparting me with enjoyment.

The jew never stops...

Go back and read them again, but listen to the Goosebuds podcast for each book as a companion piece of entertainment.

podcasts have gone too far

you had me right up until podcast

im reading not friend simulating
i also dont need or want other peoples opinions on my subjective enjoyment or dislike of art

>yfw the CYOA books had that glitter whatever print on them so they like looked different in different lighting or someshit

changed the game man, changed the fucking game...

>the ending where the cave ceiling lowers and doesn't kill you, but traps you between it and the floor so you die a very slow death
Jesus fuck this book

>fun?!
>that sort of thing has no place on Sup Forums!

Now you're getting it!

THIS fucking episode where the girl is in Karlsville scared the fucking shit out of me. That image of the girl morphing into a pig gave me nightmares.

i swear on rl steins grave if streamanon doesnt start a stream i will curse him with a thousand roaring autists

sending your family over is a powerful curse indeed

People rarely mention the recent Goosebumps movie.
Was it really that bad?

It's very different to the tone of the books and the show, going more for a campy adventure vibe then "spooky for kids." The Goosebumps licence is only used for the monsters and not much else (not even the classic theme is used)

All that being said, I have a soft spot for the type of film it actually is (grew up watching Hocus Pocus ever year and this is in the same vein) so I have a bit of a bias towards it. It's a solid romp for kids and not much other use unless you're into these kinds of things.

I remember they did Goosebumps action figures. They came in bags of gunk and you had to dig the limbs out then assemble them yourselves.

i liked it, but what can you say about it? it was fun, id watch it again if i had kids, i wont watch it again as an adult

the tv show has nostalgia and camp value while the movie has neither

did you ever suck their dicks

Should've been a fucking anthology series, would have been perfect for it.

>people constantly complain about capeshit threads on Sup Forums
>cool thread about comfy nostalgic show comes up
>Sup Forums lets it die and continually bumps capeshit threads

I can only post so much, capeshit needs to be relegated to a comics board, cartoons should be their own board, celebrity needs to be it's own board and this board should be for Television and Film (not capeshit) only

How to summon streamanon to stream Goosebumps?

Give it time, brother.

Both shows had 10/10 girls

Jellyjam is legitimately unsettling in places.
